GT4 track you hate most

Any version of Motegi blows.
It's extremely flat, very few hills and no banked corners. Boring scenery too.
Races on the test course are really boring too.
I'd have to say I like every other track to a certian degree.

Citta d' Aria is it!!! Thanks Niky... It's so damn tight, lol... HK is not nearly as tight as this and the right angle section allows for some interesting overtaking...

Paris Opera is cool once you get used to handling a car on uneven surfaces...

I LOVE Citta di Aria, it's good to test out a new car and usually my first port of call, the undulating nonsense is always good for a bit of fun.

The tracks I hate in the game are probably the 2005 versions of Fuji - it's damn hard to see the apexes and the edge of the track. Never been a fan of SSR5 (I want my beloved SSR11 back!) but it's tolerable, and Seattle holds my attention for about as long as a pile of guano. Nor am I keen on Tsukuba Wet - the dry version is nice and technical, but under wet conditions it's like watching the World Championships for Reliant Robbinses ...

No it isn't! ;) After the S1-license I've come to like it quite a lot. Especially the short East course! Love the double esses after the first right-hander!

Remember the Test Course Vitz race? That was mega-boring!!

2005 versions of Fuji , the first I was thinking where the **** are the braking-lines? I hate it, and I hate most of the rally tracks for example Chamonix.

I really don't like El Capitan.

However, the other tracks are almost all cool. I don't like the city tracks all that much, but thats more because I don't like it that much wenn there are almost only 90° corners in a track.

Wow, saw this thread title and *knew* already what my answer would be, so I did a search to see if it had already been mentioned, and guess what?

4 pages worth of results came back and...

It seems just about everybody agrees that HONG KONG SUCKS! But if I have to drive it, I prefer the reverse course...

I guess it'll just take some getting used to, I used to hate racing at Laguna till I got it figured out and now it's one of my favs, but dang Hong Kong is frustrating - you gotta drive a *perfect* line or hit the wall...:ouch:

I don't really have a problem with any other tracks (though another thread has addressed missing from GT3 and replacements; i.e. I wish they hadn't ditched Rome and SS11 and replaced them with 4 variations each of Sazuka/Tskuba/Fuji/etc - that has just gotten old).

I thought Nurb was cool at first but I agree with a few other posters, it's long...oy vey is it ever long....

As for the plethora of Opera haters, I've fallen in love w/that track - I think it's a great track, it's super-duper fun in a well tuned M3 GTR (regular or race versions) Uh, but of course just about ANY track is fun in those cars! 👍

I have an idea that most people list Hong Kong as a hated track because it's new, fairly difficult and it was somewhat difficult to win (early on) in the GTWC. But I say give it a chance. It will grow on you. As others have said, you have to run almost perfect to get a good time, so when you do it is a good feeling.

Hong Kong is one of my faves. Its one of the most beautiful tracks in the game.
The track I hate most is Seoul Central. It feels rather underdeveloped compared to the other city tracks. All the rest are fine (the Nurburgring and Circuit de la Sarthe are awesome).

And I guess I find there is a simple elegance to Seoul - it's as difficult in it's simplicity as some of the more complex tracks. Beacuse there's no special corner that the AI can't handle there's no magic corner to catch up on (if you're driving properly that is and not using the AI for your breaks by slamming into them).

Eh, to each is own, that's the beauty of this game ;)

Hate:
Seoul Reverse (cannot tell where the last turn before the roundabout is)
Midfield (they screwed up this track badly. Used to be able to take the backstretch and chicane full throttle if you hit it perfectly. Now you have to brake).
Deep Forest (wider than it used to [A.K.A. should] be.)
Opera (only applies to cars that understeer like mad [Ford Falcon GT, Skyline R-33, etc.] and cars that require downforce to turn [Group C cars, Formula GT])
Fuji 2005 (can't see the apex? Don't worry, just drive off the track. Going to fast for the turn? Don't worry, just drive off the track. Also, the poor job on the concrete that separates GT and normal has spun me out numerous times.)

Love:
El Capitan (lots of places that require lots of skill to take full throttle. In my mind, the new Midfield)
High Speed Ring (try driving this course with a Yellow Bird or a BTR)
Special Stage Route 5 (love the highly technical part on the western side. I use this track and El Capitan to test out cars)
Le Sarthe II (try a Stratos here, no spoiler 👍 )
Le Sarthe I (try a rear engined car here)
The 'Ring (try using the Cizeta here for a major challenge)
Twin Ring Motegi-Full (while it is too flat, it also has some deceptively hard corners)
Suzuka-Full (Best course in the game. Period. It' like the Nurburgring without the bumpiness. Or the excessive length)
Fuji 80's (fun to try to take sweeping corners without lifting)
Apricot Hill-Mini (fun with oversteery cars, like the Alfa Guila Sprint GTA)
Hong Kong (great with cars with moderate power [Aston Martins])

To date my worst track is Cathedral rocks..... both of them. I dont see why they didnt just miss it out and put Brands Hatch, Silverstone or Snetterton in instead.

Tracks I love:
- Charmonix: I'm good at drifting on snow and the icy tarmac section. Very difficult but challanging in a good way. The scenary is very nice.
- Tahiti Maze: Those people that hate it do not know how to link drifts at the multiple hairpins. Knowing how to initiate and hold the drift with throttle control and countersteer is necessary. Driving a Subaru Imprezza Rally Car and drifting is a technical driving challange. I can drift this course like second nature due to a lot of practice. Zero-countersteer drifting the sequential hairpins is so fun! If you suck at drift control, you don't have the skills necessary for rally racing; that is why you hate this course.
- The 'Ring: Very cool.
- Costi di amalfi: I love this fast course. Especially drifting the hairpins.
- Citti de aria: A tight narrow technical course with steep uphill and downhill sections. Very fun.
- Cathedral Rocks: I love drifting this course. Both versions. The area is very beautiful with El Capitan in the background. Sliding around on the hairpins and turns is very fun! Some drift skills required.
- El Capitan: This course is very high speed and is kind of technical. If you gas too much like near the tunnel, you can lose control easily. Drifting on some of the turns here is fun (like the nice long left hander at the beginning).

The courses that are okay:
- The rest of the other courses.

The course I hate:
- Grand Canyon: I have not practiced enough on this course. LOL.

In summary, people who do not know how to drift in the GT4 will hate the rally courses. Simple as that. Hugging the inside and almost rubbing the guardrails on rally is so fun if you are good. No countersteer drifting is sYou cannot expect to be instantly good at the rally races due to the severe lack of traction. It takes a lot of practice. The mu coefficient of the road surface really changes how a person should drive. Driving on a bumpier, slipperier, uneven driving surface is not the same as driving on smooth tarmac. Get better and practice before you complain.

rally courses are ok but i personally dont enjoy the whole rally thing, the ice circuits do my head in,

as for the others, laguna seca i dont like mainly coz theyve changed it slightly from gt3 and ive lost all my braking and turn in points :banghead:

altho sayin that they have changed grand valley loads and i still love it

I Realy realy hate Citta Di aria specially the reverse its too narrow and full of pikes and u get penalties all the time in general I hate this penalty thing if the other care touch me I get penalty

Second track is Nurburgering its toooooooooooo long over 20km

nurburgring is the hardest track to master so you may need to pratice in it but once you know every curve it is the best track in gt4

Hi Guys,

basically, I fully agree : the Nurburgring is the greatest track of them all. To tell you the truth, I bought the game AND the PS2 only for racing on that track. Unfortunately, it's very very bumpy and that's why I always have little apprehension when braking. Try it with the BMW M3 GTR Racecar with Very soft tires ; awesome !

This forum speaks about the worst track, so here is my list :

New York : I hate tracks where you don't have any visibility and where every corner is just an angle. It's no challenging at all. In addition to that, finding breaking points is hard
Seoul : Same remarks as previous.
Fuji Speedway : basically, it's very easy to offer one track with so many variation that it makes 4-5 of it. It's a boring track, with few challenges where you need to go off track on the first corner to lap correctly. Nonsense.
Sarthe II : Strangely, I love le Mans track but with no chicane, it makes it strangely very very long. Being flatout for about 30 seconds makes me fall asleep. It is very interesting instead of braking at Mulsanne.

That's about it. Shortly, the best tracks are for me :

Nurburgring : I explained why above
El Capitan : a perfect balance of great corners for which a perfect car balance is necessary
Città di Aria : Storming through those narrow streets make you think you are in Starwars (the city make me think of Urbino, in Italy)
Costa di Amalfi : very speedy and really nice sightseen. I appreciate the last bit at most.
Chamonix : try it with the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16. really challenging and thoses mixed conditions makes it great
Infineon Racetrack : one of my favorites. Those up and downhills at the first section are just breathtaking. You really need to avoid understeer !
Suzuka : what more to tell than what has been said? Wonderfull track, especially the first bit.

This forum is just cool. Continue like that !

Cheers

Hong-Kong - Too short and not enough room for the horses to gallop
Nurburgring - I was really looking foward to this track, but, It's length is far too long. Plus all the bumps and crests at the top of the hills are killer on all my cars because they are tuned to have very stiff suspension for improved handling.

I took the F1 for a spin around both directions of Citta di Aria and found that while I could drive the normal version perfectly and set a killer time, on the reverse I'd hit every single wall edge and rogue pixel that stuck out over the track ... plus when the CPU takes over at the end, it plows headfirst into the wall at 300+ km/h.

Well I have to admit I'm a big Nürburgring enthusiast too. Those of you that want the Grindelwald back are right, but I recently played GT2 after a long while and had a strong Deja Vu on that track. Many places resemble the 'Ring very much.

On the downside there is the Hong Kong, got a little trauma there in the World Championship against the Chaparral 2J...

This is a contradiction, you say they not challenging and in the same breath that the breaking points are hard to find... That's a challenge right there, find the breaking points and you'll enjoy the tracks.

Ok, I've had it with Fuji 2005.

I can see jack ****. It's the worst road texture in the universe. I'm never racing that track again.

vvSorry about that, just had to vent my Fuji anger.

I don't like that circuit much either... doesn't give you the right to by-pass the swear filter though... so don't try it again please 👍

edit: Fuji 2005 is not complete I don't think... it's covered earlier in this thread I think... like there is no indicators at the ends of the straights... very annoying.... ironically, it makes you concentrate alot harder, and is more challenging for it, so sometimes, if you are in the mood for it, you can sometimes enjoy it... but I don't like the new layout much either :ill: ... atleast they left the old Fujis in too though 👍
