Yes, the photos are nice. But I have yet to see a Ferrari in-game pic. Anyways, alot of the tires when spinning sort of look the same to me on any of the cars depending on the color.

I suggest you watch the in video's on IGN there's ferraris and Porsches in them and they had a big E3 demo with the 360 Modena playable looks stunning...

I just watched it, and was going to post that. I see a the GTS, 360 Modena and other cars have made it. But now you are givin' the option to customize it. Let's hope you can't modify the Ferraris in the game. We don't need a bunch of ricer Ferraris.

I am slightly impressed by Forza Motorsports' graphics and layout, but I have still yet to see anything that really could be openly discussed or anything blockbuster, but as it goes, that is just what I think. :)

Yeah. But don't forget GT's other rival. Enthusia. Not much has been released on the game, and it could turn out to be a big competitor than what people think.

I have really not been paying attention to the racing games soon to be released other than Gran Turismo 4. I don't know much about Enthusia, barely even heard of it, and Forza should also spend more time thinking of more cars, because my verdict on racing games is the more cars, the better I will like it, and the more I will play it. :)

Well I found a snazzy shot of a car alot of us are hoping will make it in GT4.
It seems Mercedes has agreed to let them use, dare I say...The car below?
enthusia-professional-racing-200405110222321.jpg

And from the looks of it, Enthusia too has also got ahold of Nurburgring.

You say that like it is a bad thing, which I don't think so. This should be a nice little three race car game battle, although I think is a little lopsided and awkward, should be great to witness the next few months. :sly:

Well, Enthusia and GT4 will be the biggest competitors mostly because they are both on the PS2. Meaning PS2 owners will ahve to chose between GT4 or Enthusia. NOW, if Forza had come out the same time as PGR2, then there would have been a battle. But, there aren't many racing games like Forza that are coming out on the XBOX, so XBOX buyers will buy Forza without a doubt if their looking for a Racing Sim.

Sorry, but all the Forza screens I,ve seen, the cars don,t look quite right, theres something missing that I can,t put my finger on. Enthusia Racing looks closer to GT4 than Forza.

Could it be the fact that the cars look like they are raised higher than they really should be? That is the only I can really stand out. :ouch:

NEW FORZA SCREENS

*Amazing!*

After looking at all of those screens, I have to admit to myself that it's starting to look better than GT4. They've got the car modelling down to real good, it no longer looks cartoonish. The trackside detail is amazing, never seen anything like it. The sand looks great, the lighting is perfect, and it has a lot more polygons than GT. If it lives up to the hype, I may get me an x-box.

It is looking good, Even if they do still need to sort out the tyre depth.

Enthusia, as I understand it, is going to have much less emphasis on Tuning than GT, and it wil feature the Nurburgring.

Ya, the tvr looks bloody ridiculously good, *drool*

Yes, I'll get GT4, but these screenies make me want forza even more then before.

I wonder if you run over the sand, if it changes. Like tyre marks, sand flying everywhere, gouges, or if they take the cheap way out and make it the same texture wether you run over it or not.

IMO the car modelling in GT looks better than the modelling in Forza. Except for the TVR. We still haven't seen an in game pic yet either.

code_kev
it's 60 :P, or so I heard.
I don't have the producer's direct quote right here (it's in the mag), but he basically told me that they're doing so much graphically (in terms of geometry and FSAA), and it's -so- physics intensive (believe me, it is... Forza even simulates tire pressure and heat for all four wheels) that they just couldn't do 60fps. They wanted to, but it was a toss-up between 60fps or downgrading all other areas of the game.

The good news is that he said the controls are being polled at 180fps so "you're always where you need to be." Ultra-responsive handling, basically.

I love the paint job on the TVR, stunning, also very jealous of the skid marks being put down by the NSX 👍

Technically speaking the graphics are far better than what we've seen from GT4 so far (in game shots). The lighting and "grainy" stuff is a matter of opinion.

But...and we'll see what code_kev makes of my next comment :)

This thread is GT4 or Forza, but Forza has to prove it is better than GT3. That is not as crazy a statement as it sounds. Obviously the graphics blow it away, but the GT series has sold 35 million units world wide (excluding GT4) that is success. Forza could have the best physics and handling but if the game sucks, then the game sucks. (I doubt it will :) )

Sales are what matters in the world of consoles, you can call them driving simulators, but they are just games, or units. If it isn't fun to play and doesn't fly off the shelf, there won't be a Forza 2, no matter how realistic the first one was.

Microsoft will judge Forza on its sales, there are many "hardcore PC racing sims" that outperform GT's physics but they are not popular in the sense they do not appeal to a mass market, so they don't make huge amounts of cash for their developers, and thats what counts.

If you think I'm crazy for comparing Forza to GT3, I don't mind. But will people still be playing Forza after 3 years and still claim it to be the best racing game ever? (as they do with GT3)

Before the backlash starts ;) I'm just saying that Forza has to defeat GT3 before it can make a move on GT4's claim to the crown. At the moment it is just a young pretender to the throne with a lot to prove :)

"Looks good but not gt4 quality for me. I dont care for my racers to look cartoony."

Cobra, your telling me that those screenies are cartoony in style? Are you smegging insane? Do you know what a cartoon is? OK, I'll be a gent and help you.

Look at my avatar, thats cartoony, note the thick black lines, bright colours, it's pretty over the top, now look at the tvr in forza, note the realistic shading, detail, paintwork etc. WOAH WAIT A MINUTE, you said it was cartoony, I don't see any of the trade mark cartoony style effects you would come to expect.

I hope this has cleared it up for you. Something does not automatically become cartoony because it doesn't look as realistic, hell would you call soldier of fortune 2 cartoony?

sigh I guess you would :P

Looks good but not gt4 quality for me. I dont care for my racers to look cartoony.

I contstantly hear this 'cartoony' word casually thrown about if by cartoony you mean the car models are more detailed, and the trackside objects are more detailed than GT4's, then by all means it's cartoony, I could also add GT use's 2D trims is that not more 'cartoony' than what your looking at here.....
But at the end of the day it's a game not reality if you want 100% reality go race or go watch racing on a track then things won't be so 'cartoony'

Oh but front, to some people on these forums, GT4 looks like real life *muffled laugh*

Usually the stupid ones I might add, ones who think EVERYTHING EVER is cartoony.

I can't wait to read cobras come back now, it should be a classic!

*holds on to his seat*

But in all seriousness how can you tell me those screens look cartoonish if you were blind and had never seen a car in your life then mabye i'd understand where your coming from...

THis is the first pic ive seen of forza, and while i don't think it looks cartoony it looks more like GT3 level quality. Does any one have any pics they think truly show off forza's abilities?
