dunkee, thats one of the stupidest comments I've heared, it happens a lot. You tell Kev not to be a moron and yet your the one making a dumbass post. It's down to the available licenses, if they can get a license to a JGTC Supra, you'll take it if you have any sense, I suppose GT4 has ripped of R:Racing with the BMW McLaren, a sack of potatoes could have made a more intelligent post.

What other game has JGTC cars? And out of all the cars to pick they just so happen pick the same ones that are in Prologue? It's not like GT has every car out there, there are so many more to chose from from other countries and race leagues that GT4 doesn't have. I understand your post and I was probably a lil harsh on code_kev...my bad, I just feel PD put in a unique selection of cars that no other racing games care to include. Everyone has the Ferraris and Lambos and Porches, GT is the first to change it up...don't deny them that.

and if it didnt have those cars people would be complaining about that...Complaining about a game not having ceritan cars is one thing... but complaing about it having ceritain cars is a bit unfair. The game wouldnt be as successful in japan withought JGTC cars. just like gt4 is going to have more sales here because it will include muscle cars. 👍 You cant expect an insane amount of originality when it comes to racing games. Especially when they are trying to be real is the focus.. The ridge racer series was a ton of fun, and original too. :)

I see your point and it could be possible that Forza has borrowed the idea and choices of a lot of cars from GT because it's a formula that works !! Plain and simple, if it works and you don't have it, imitate it. Could Forza have grabbed the Aussie series, the Pan-American series etc...Probably yeah, butl wouldn't people just start saying that they were copying Codemasters? There's hardly any originality that can be done in racing games (regarding vehicles) because more often than not it's been done before, maybe not well but it'll always be in people's minds as done before.

GT was one of the first racers to incorporate everyday cars and enable you to tune them, tinker with them, and transform them into full blown GT resembling models, as well as the real life JGTC vehicles, along with, if I remember a few BTCC and DTM cars (might have been GT2). Does this mean GT copied Codemasters' many a name TOCA? I don't think so, honestly I think GT was a taster and being born in Japan made sense to include those cars (Castrol Supra anyone?) but as word spread it was easier for PD and Sony to acquire licences and grow the ever expanding GT inventory that GT has. (I would love to see the actual FIA GT cars though)

I understand completely....

Forza's online play will spoil me rotten, have fun against GT4's obviously flawed AI
We´ll still have Xlink for that.

And finally we have some Forza´s pics that look photorealistic, nice lighting. 👍

Strange wheels on the Forza pics imo, I know GT isn't great in this department either but there's something awry about Forza's especially the Impreza.

Other games include R:Racing, SEGA GT which was way before GT had JGTC cars, there were variouse mods for JGTC cars for F1 games and sportscar GT ect, there are plenty more but at 12:20 I'm not searching.

Those cars are like perfect, but somethings is missing in those pics and I can't explain what it is, it's dull, the cars are picture perfect, rims are great except for the Scudo WRX but maybe I'm wrong about the wheels, but does anybody think the graphics are missing something..?

It's the lighting, the models are spot on but the lgithing is a little off.

I'll probably get ripped for this but I think Forza is missing the metallic element, imo nothing even the cars look metallic. And I don't mean the paint colour before any wise-ass jumps in, I'm saying compared to many racing games the cars look non-metal giving them an airbrushed/drawn kinda look and effect.

The cars are perfectly modeled, with all things need on them but the cars dont look realistic as all like the cars in gt4. It's more than just the lighting.

Like I said, it's the lighting, that can make a large impact on the way a game looks, and the difference between realistic and not quite there yet.

Other cars has the metallic look as you can see in the pics below.
They will probably add effects on those cars in a later build of the game.

Both look great and I hope both rocks, I just hope there will be a good wheel on the xbox as there is for the PS2. It makes a great difference

Looking at media and reading articles about TGS i think that Forza will have alot of work to do to compete with GT4 now. IMO what separates these two games is that GT is developed by a car enthusiast and so from the start has always set out to be an enjoyable, true to life game, whereas forza is just out to as money making device for Microsoft.

Forza's whole team consist of car enthusiasts, a lot of them take part in motosport events. As for Forza just being a money making device for Microsoft, thats exactley what GT is for Sony, buisness is buisness at the end of the day.

I aggree w/ u LFS>
why are we kidding ourselves. most likely forza will be a great game also. And if i ever get around to getting an Xbox i will get that also, but only if they get support somehow for a wheel. Maybe my old driving force so i dont have to buy a new one. 👍. The developers said the focus will be a little different from GT4. it seems like Forza will be focused more on personalizing your car a bit more than gt4 supposedly. but im not sure about that, cus i havent heard much on tuning in gt4..

I'm very impressed with the progress that Forza is making, with GT4 going offline i'm swinging towards the Forza camp i'm afraid i'll no doubt buy GT4 but i'm no way as hyped about it's impending release.

Forza is looking more and more solid every day while PD are stummbling around blind, GT4 is the market leader but there's only so far that the fan's will hold to the series if they continue on the route they have taken.

I'd suggest before anyone bashes this post to actually think about it i'm excited about the battle beetween the Forza and GT franchises, I have no doubt it will be forever be undecided as it should.

Mario > Sonic :)

I still think GT4 will be the better game as a whole, but Forza will be fantastic either way, I'm not buying two wheels, I'm buying the DFP so I'm gonna be sticking with the pad it seems for Forza when I get that along with an X-Box next year. I'll race you online, in my sinistar black Audi S4 with full racing bodykit, 6 speed close ratio box and race tuned V8 engine taken from a GT500 Supra.

I can see one major thing wrong with them comparison pics..........

... the in game tracks don't have the same formation of clouds. :p
j/p I am actually impressed with the detail the devs and artists have put into the tracks in Forza (cue cobra with "gT4 tRaCKs wILL b3 Wi7H!n 15mM"). Good job the team on Forza for sure. Some of the enviroment details are off (just like GT) but of course it's the track that counts!!

New info on Forza

Cheater's who cut the track or drive in reverse or spend too much time off the track will be turned into a "Ghost" Car you can see this happening in the video from gamespot linked above, there is also a penalty system for cutter's who will be penialised in seconds for being cutting :)

This sounds like good news i've played TRD2 and it's plauged with people who can't drive or don't make any effort to drive, i'm glad MS has incorporated a defence against these people :)

Forza is really shaping up to the one of the game's of 2005.
