Cobra, your use of the word "photorealistic" amuses me.
I'm talking about in general. Have you seen the videos posted by erahk64 here? They look better than GT4 IMO. NOT that GT4 looks bad, it looks fantastic. Just forza does look better. Not even from a technical side.

Damn, every time I read that preview of OPM again I'm dying to see the advancements GT4 made. :(
Btw, imo GT4 looks better than Forza. :P
But.. I do think Forza's laguna seca looks better and some tracks look more detailed overal.

Yea well I think that Forza might even be a better game...and Im a die hard GT fan Im just saying that with all the features and stellar graphics..I might be sold, Of course I will buy both but I'm just saying from what I have seen, Forza looks great.

Fair enough. I wont knock you for that =P Forza looks great, but it's not good enough to look better than gt4 imo. It just doesn't look natural like gt4, oh well. gt4 will most likely get best racing game visuals this year, if it comes out this year :(

OK, guys... I'm getting a little bored with all this discussion, because my intent is to buy and drive both, trying only to have all the fun they can provide me... the only motive to expect GT4 with much more enhusiasm is its sheer size and absolute commitment to detail.

But someone's cooking a pretty delicious cake for next year. Check it out:

Recommended... and quite impressive!

What are you looking forward to in Forza? Damage? What else is there to look forward to? And Enthusia? What does it have that is ground breaking?

I cant believe people are so sold on this 'g force recreation' deal with Enthusia. If I ever seen a simple detail like this that appears in almost every sim game get so overhyped this is it

I'm not overwhelmingly looking forward to Forza, neither Enthusia. Loosen up a bit man! I'm a car fan, not a hardcore player or Xbox/PS2 fanboy. I just try to find fun and challenge in other places. Of course GT4 is the game that moves my world, but we should keep our minds open for new experiences.

Enthusia really surprises me, not because of G force recreation, but because of its impressive physics recreation. If you see this latest display and E3's trailer, you can clearly see that its suspension mechanics is very advanced. I believe that it can be even more realistic than GT in this particular detail. But it's just one more detail to be considered and Enthusia is still far away (May '05). I hope it turns to be a good surprise...

Now please, don't be so harsh when posting... I'm merely a game player, and sincerely, this attitude of yours is very unpleasing. Try to keep cool and watch things from other angles.

I one thing I do like about enthusia is the suspension physics...when the 4x4's drop down off a jump they really bounce and lean (bottom out) to the ground......absorbing the shock.....I do wish the wheels would bounce more in GT4.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. They not only bounce more, but, when flying, you really see the wheels pending ( \\---º---// ) and rebound when landing. But, as I said, it's just one detail...
Let's wait for more information before making any early assumptions.

What does GT4 have that is "groundbreaking"? Photomode?

Stop being such a hardass. We dont know enough about the games, and the mystery is exciting. We just know they have a good chance of being great. Give em that chance.

Sometimes you dont need stuff that is revolutionary or ground breaking, just well-executed.

and sometimes the word doesnt need people who are revolutionary or ground breaking, just well-executed.

if its not goin forward its goin nowhere

But with current technology where do ou go?? As far as forza is concerned it's advanced the tuning options over other games including GT3, we don't know if GT4 will follow suit with the ability to transplant parts from other cars (provided they're compatible and fit) ect, also you have the damage which we haven't seen properly yet, all weve seen are a few scratches and dents, the final thing is meant to be much more than that but it's still better than nothing. And both GT4 and Forza are going online which is new for GT. There are advancments found in both games, Forza is the first console game to combine all the elements found in GT, give it more of it all ie more tuning options, cars on track, damage ect and allows you to change the bodywork of the car too. And people are having a go at it for doing so,.

Haha. That's pretty clever. But also pretty shallow.

We are talking about video games here. Think about it, what would you rather play, a buggy game with no polish but some new ideas, or a game wherein the developers put alot of hard work and the product gleams with quality and great gameplay.

Gt3 brought what new things to the table exactly? Next gen graphics. Then they cut out a bunch of good stuff to release it on time. It was almost a step backward for the series. What is GT4 bringing? An evolution, not a revolution, as far as we know.

Which isnt a bad thing at all.

That totally explains why you don't need new elements to shine and be a greatest hit! Gt3 just had Graphics over Gt2, It lacked Cars,Tracks.

i would class simply putting a lot of good ideas that may or may not have been been done before together for the first time as revoutionary, and i see gt4 as doing this. anyone disagree?

That's what I meant by well executed. Good ideas and smart engineering.

Good ideas don't qualify as ground-breaking in most people's books. Look up the word revolutionary. You may be surprised by the results.

As for marginally improving stuff, that would all depend on your definition of "marginally".

I figure this, my brother is gonna buy an xbox. Don't ask me why, we already have a ps2. So, what I'm going to do, is buy GT4 when it comes out and when my bro gets an xbox and forza I'll get that as well. Problem solved.

my gf is going to buy a grill.. dont ask me why we already have an oven....

"this story is ficticious and serves only to highlight a point" ;)

Okay, let's try to clear some things up...

Are you ACTUALLY confused or just trying to make a monkey out of me?

And if you are, my point is that I'm sick of arguing with people who are stubbornly (cynically?) dismissing games that have potential.

If you think Forza is pointless, then there's no manner of reasoning that will sway you, so I'll leave you alone.

Conversely, if you wanted to argue some more, I could say that a grill is useful for preparing tasty meat that would otherwise be wasted by cooking it on a stove (lack of flavour compared to either charcoal or propane, etc., etc.)

Now that's really taking things too far, if you ask me. Which you probably didnt. So you win.
