You don't see what the "FORZA fanboys" have been getting at, Forza is supposed to a proper sim, early reports indicate it IS, we should as such assume until further notice that it IS the same as we are doing with GT4. With that being the case these "gimmicks" put Forza's features above what we know will be in GT4. Stop arguing for the sake of it, neiter game is out, everyone's speculating abou the both, it doesn't matter if Forza IS better than GT4, because Forza is on the X-Box and GT4 isn't, both should be very good, both have options the other doesn't, Forza's gimmicks though imo seem better than thoes found in GT4.

Okay so photmode or complete customisation of your car, damage, larger grids and more indepth tuning like swappings parts. Okay the photomode beats all of them, bollocks.

These 'gimmicks' count for jack **** if the car list is not as exciting, diverse and interesting as GT4's is shaping upto be.

And I am not talking about Ferrari, Porche etc. but Group B rally, Le Mans, Group C, Group 5 etc. cars that car enthusiasts adore.

We also know sod all about the core features of GT4, or Forza, for that matter. GT4 will be unreconisable from GT3, yet all we have seen so far is the same old cars and the Nordschleife news. Nothing else of significance has been released to the media.

The photomode is just a tiny insignicnat piece of crap as far as I am concerned, to keep the media happy, while the really interesting info is held back until the release of the game.

We have yet to hear a single thing about the museum feature for example.

PD do not have to announce all of their juicy info because the reputation of the previous GT games alone is enough to keep anticipation high.

Wha? Yes I am a big Xbox fan, Im also a big GT fan. GT4 is the sole purpose I own a PS2.

You are dumb Cobra, good job judging me on the way I added to the list. Good for you. Can you enlighten me as to how you came to the conclusion that I "dont know of GT4" by the way I added to the comparison? Hmmmm?
I know you from the GS board, you are a xboy.

Right, so basically you don't have an f'ing clue so why persist in ranting on about how much better than Forza GT4 will be. The bottom line, as you just said and I've said plenty of times before, WE DON'T KNOW WHICH WILL BE BEST UNTIL WEVE PLAYED THEM BOTH.

And you very well KNOW, I have not said anything of the sort.

My point, yet AGAIN, is that PD have a proven track record so we know what they are capable of. We know the kind of things they wish to see in their games.

FORZA on the other hand could turn out to be another Driving Emotion Type S, though probably won't, so why invest so much effort/time in the game at this point in time.

Customize your car with hundreds of body kits!

Swap engines!

Ferrari! Porsche!

Damage!

Boom you got the next GT

NOT

You all act as if gt4 wont have a single part for tuning. The only thing forza has over gt4 is damage and the fact you can make your car look the way you want. Other than that, forza doesn't offer that much, and I wont comment on the AI because it's all good on paper. Forza wont be better than gt4, I'm confident in that bold statement. Gt4 will have more variety in modes and races. Remember Kaz said gt4 would keep us busy til gt5? Lots of variety>fake pre-determined damage and the ability to make your car look the way you want. Code, I said gt4 for all we know will have more parts. Kaz said there will be a tuner's world(not village anymore but world) and there would be shops!!!!! Different shops for parts for your car, do you think there will be 4 shops in the tuner's world? Gt4 might be alot deeper in performance tuning than forza. Kaz said he wants to educate people on how to tune cars. I'm sure there will be like 700 to 800 cars or more and about 70 tracks. If PD is going to bring back tracks from past gt's and make some new ones, 50 shouldn't be the number. 500 cars and 50 tracks is just a est. I'm sure there will be more cars and tracks. And Gt4 will have some surprises. Gt4 was at E3 03, =\ Who wouldn't think PD would put some surprises in? And as physics go, I'm not impressed with forza. I'm yet to see anything impressive about its physics when compared to that Nurb vid I posted with the 6 cars on it. Everything sounds so good on paper.

- alot of body kits and damage and engine swap.........but what if gt4 gets ferrari and porsche? gt4 imo would be alot more complete. You can change your normal car into a racer in gt4 so that's good I guess.

Can you drive a Lancia Delta S4, Sauber Mercedes C9, Mercedes 190Evo II etc. in Forza?

These are the type of cars the GT series has built its reputation on, not Ferrari, Porsche and its like.

Oh god, no ones saying GT4 won't be the better game, all were saying is than noone knows. All you GT4 fanboys are screaming that GT4 will be better and picking hoels at the smallest things in Forza even somehow calling clear plus points about it bad.

JAGUAR I aplogise, I spoke too quick then, but there are plenty here saying thoes things, as you said before "How sad is it that you can have a thread reaching 62 pages when you know sod all about either game apart from a few screenshots and good old PR spin."

live4speed
OMG I missed that. How sad is that, honestly. Sorry Earth but come on and smell the salt, thats bad.

On another note does anyone have any links to this interview with KY where he hints at Ferrari and Porsche in GT4.
Dont you remember the Gt4 event at the Nurb in July? There was a car test session and advertising slots were made for the game. A porsche was included at the test session. And it wasn't a interview, it was a fan who talked to Kaz.

I remeber the event I don't remeber any interview that hinted at Ferrari or Porsche though.

So you dont want ferrari and porsche in gt4? I seriously can't comprehend why anyone wouldnt want those 2 great car makers in. I'm sure forza will have those cars you suggested, what if it had all the cars in gt4 and ferraris and porsches. You'd be looking sick then.

He didn't say or mean that, he meant GT hasn't built it's repution on the back of big names. emeber GT1, there wasn't many big sports / supercars in that game and look how good it was.

Well it's time to change that imo.

FlyingScotsman:

Yeah.. the Sony guys...

We met the development team behind the great Gran Turismo series of playstation games.. including the man himself... Kazunori Yamauchi - the creator of the Gran Turismo franchise.

They were there with various interesting cars and people... like Aston Martin DB9s.. the Zak Speed Vipers.. Kramer Porsches... Subaru Impreza STi 'C' Spec... Nismo 350Z...AND Johnny Herbert (DRIVING the DB9!) filming for the advertising slots for the game!

Kazunori said that the game would be released in time for Christmas. But there was a hint that because the licenses for Porsche (EA Sports) and Ferrari (Sega) expire on the turn of the new year.. they may release the game late...''

sega, I believe holds the ferrari rights, their new arcade racer has loads of them.

Forza

+ XBox Live is more established than the PS2 alternitive

+ Custom Soundtracks
+ Unique rarity system based on country (ie. Skylines are rarer if you choose to start career in USA or Corvettes are harder to find/buy in Europe)

- Graphics not as real looking as GT4
- So far all the racing games on XBOX seem to be jam packed with cheaters who dominate the time trials and people intent on ruining your race. No solution to this problem has made it to any xbox live racer[/QUOTE]

I wont update for a while now because I know you may be getting sick of these! lol

Your compare and contrast needs help. forza's physics so realistic, you might need aid? Gt4, bounce off the cars for braking? WTF? I dont need to know gt4's physics will be realistic by reading what's on paper, I can look with my 2 eyes. That nurb vid with the 6 cars on it is enough evidence for me.

I'm talking about in GT3 if your10 car lengths behind a guy going into a hairpin you brake alot later and bump him while he is slowing, which will slow you down to and most likely you wont spin out etc unless they changed this for GT4 and no the nurb video doesnt show that. In fact it shows what I said

I said Forza is claiming to be so realistic and tough to drive that the average joe will use AIDS what is hard to understand about that?

Also I didnt put in that physic realistic stuff someone else did

My point is that I very much doubt the cars I mentioned will be in FORZA. It appears that Forza will have a line-up of cars similar to PGR2, plus new additions obviously.

GT has built its reputation on the niche models rather than mainstream supercars.

If Porsche were in GT4, I wouldn't be interested in the 911s, or even the Carrera GT, but cars like the 962, 911 GT1, 917, 908 etc. Cars that are unlikely to be seen in Forza.

well if the vid doesn't show and tell, I guess I can only go with opmuk's opinion about the build they played. I'm sure you know what they said, hardcore gt4 :D GT3 was a rushed game, it was gt2 with the same physics but with upgraded graphics. GT4 is the real deal, it's the first step for the gt series since gt1. I got that from that opmUK preview of gt4 =P

Hey, it's good to have all cars. Come on now, having those cars in would be super and make gt4 alot more appealing.

When I think of GT I think of Lancer Evolutions, Camaros, Lemans cars, 80 hp japanese cars etc

I dont look for or really care about Ferrari/Porsche

I mean yes, they would be nice to have, and I hope GT gets them eventually, but I'm not going to be dissapointed one bit if they never appear in GT

Over the years I'm use to these cars being in arcade games, NFS, PGR.

Putting a Ferrari in GT is like, dare I say it, putting a minivan/PT cruiser in NFS. Maybe thats an overstatement but I'm trying to make a point

Oh yeah.

I have already said that Sega's OutRun 2 had the Ferrari license. An exclusive license which is actually up NOW. Meanig, they don't have the license anymore. They had for a bit of time, and then didn't need it. The game is nearly finished, and every car (F40, F50, Enzo, and 2 others) are already done and complete.

SO, Sega is done with the license.
