Well, the mag says:

There's a chance that the 2D bystanders will be replaced by motion captured, polygonal models

A chance... They might be saying that because they hope that.

This does not mean it will be on the final game. Chance, rumours, hopes, ... is totally different from FACT.


And the talk about the % used on GT3 and GT4. For me, total bull****.

This does not depend on newer versions of devkits, but the talent of programmers and the dev team behind it. What i mean is that some games can use 90% of what the system can do IN THEORY while some games being released don't use 20% of it. In fact, a game can use 100% of the power of the system and be terrible, compared to the one that used 50%, mostly because lack of code optimization, lack of talent of the programmers, lack of time to finish the game ( Damn publishers ) and most important lack of special libs.

Of course newer devkits help the process, sometimes making easier to develop a good software, but knowing for sure how much % you used of the system is difficult. I never believed that even on the 16-bit consoles.
% usage does not mean better games.
