After my first ~10 laps 39.3/1'20.xxx

Excellent combo, I love this car and track. It's gonna be interesting seeing how I progress through the week, hopefully I should be able to hit P's 1'16.8 T2 by Sunday.

new best lap :D

T1 : 37.146
T2 : 1:16.239

i hit 36.9xx in T1 so i still got 2 tenths atleast

hey i was just wonderin, do you guys use the paddle shifters or the shifter itself?
i use the SHIFTER

New best for me also:

37.09
1'16.3

I can't belive I've gotten that far on T2, but I only took a mere .2 off of the 1'16.9. If I don't find that time this week I'm going to be very disappointed.

BTW this is without TCS.

Did little improvements today. I'm going to call it a night. Here's what I managed for today.

T1: 38.278
T2: 1'18.861

Been doing a few laps last night, and the best I could come up with is :

T1 : 38.002
T2 : 1'17.9

So still not happy with it, but that's about the best I can do ...

Will try the TCS tip though, thanks guys ! I drive with manual gears and no TCS or ASM of whatever with the DFP.

After hearing many people recommend TCS, i tried it out and couldn't come close to my sector times without TCS. It was definitely faster and alot easier through the hilly section, but i had lost so much time before that section that it just didn't matter.

Maybe i didn't give it enough practice time, but i noticed that on the homestraight the TCS would flicker slowing my acceleration.

Maybe you guys will have better luck or maybe it's just me, but other than the hill section i felt it was a hindrance.

I agree with you Alpine ... but will try it and see how it goes ... that hill section is crazy on the wheel haha, one can go over there in 4th, but it shakes like crazy haha, one thing is, one has to brake a little bit just before going over, otherwise you just spin out. But I now take it in 4th, rather than changing to 3rd first. 👍

I'm taking the hill in fourth, just brake before the hill and full trottle trough it 👍

New best time:

T1: 38.423
T2: 1:19.055

Some laps tonight before submitting 👍

Cheers,

Just got my first session in on this thing... using the DFP. And I use the paddles rather than the slap stick like thing.

T1 - 38.148
T2 - 1'18.978

Thats after maybe a dozen laps. I'm sure more can come out easy, just need to put down some laps when I'm neither sleepy nor cold :p

And yes, it does feel good to be back.

Yeah I noticed a similar thing, it took me a while to beat my non TCS time with the TCS enabled, I guess the TCS just gives you confidence to know your gonna get over the hill, the car does seem to handle better with it on as well but maybe isn't as outright fast.

Hmmmm.....

You guys are as usual showing me that im not gonna be able to beat you without driving like the proverbial god of GT.

I have done a near flawless lap (so i thought) for me with one or two areas where i might go slightly quicker, but overall, only by 4 or 5 tenths, and this was what i came out with:

T1: 37.365
T2: 1'17.183

No TCS, ASM or AT.

Just me, my seat, and the stick on the DFP.

Think I've reached my limit for this week (or at least the limit of my patience)

T1 - 37.533
T2 - 1'17.697

Started running with TCS on but after turning it off and pulling over a car length on my ghost just up to the first corner, I knew that keeping it off was the way to go. Although as mentioned earlier; it can get a bit hairy through the hilly section.

[Using DS2, AT with TCS and ASM both off]

*Edit* Tried a few runs with TCS on just to make sure it isn't faster and did:

T1 - 37.403
T2 - 1'17.094

It seems I'm wrong about the TCS.

Wow

Any chance you could write up a more detailed description of your lap? I'm having trouble with this one ...

T1 37.010
T2 1'16.601

ds2, MT, no aids

Question, does anybody know how to disable the gost car. cos sometimes it can be frustrating when its right infront of ya, and u **** up a corner?

Question, does anybody know how to disable the gost car. cos sometimes it can be frustrating when its right infront of ya, and u **** up a corner?

Just push "up" on DS2. DFP - I dont realy know but probably the same way (does it have up;ddown;left and right buttons ?)

From the start line, hit fourth gear as you brake for the first sweeping right, make sure to reapply the gas before you release the brake, so as not to understeer off to the left, aim for the kerbing on the right near the wall.
Once you have clipped the blue rumble strip on the left, you should just miss the wall on the right as the car struggles for grip.
Stay in the middle as you top the slight crest, braking slightly to bring her under control,
heading over the rumble strip on the right with two wheels on the grass/dirt.
Here is where u need to enter slower, so u can exit faster, as you drop down to third in a straight line, heading straight at the grey concrete wall on the right hand side.
Once you can bring her round over the rumble on the left hand side, do so.
You should be heading towards the first hairpin now, in third.
Stay in third, and look for the rumble on the right, braking enough to catch it and then accelerate out towards the yellow blox on the left, making sure you miss them of course!!
(many times i havent.....)
Across T1.
Hit the blue rumbles on the right immediately, then stay left as you approach the double apex right hander.
As you hit the red rumble on the right hand side, you should have already braked hard, hit third, and then lifted off everything to catch the rumble, and some small air on the front end.
It is important not to have any throttle on as you land the nose, otherwise, you will understeer into the sand on the left, it is also important to have your brakes on as the nose of the car lands, so as not to understeer into the sand on the left.
Turn her into the stone coloured kerb on the right as you head for the second hairpin, catching the aforementioned rumble as you go.
Head straight into the apex of the left hander, braking and bringing her down to second, and reapplying the throttle as soon as possible, to head up the steep hill.

Hit fourth as you go round the sweeping right towards the crest, and stay on the right until you come almost level with the yellow (arent they?) bales on the right, turning in at this point towards the apex of the crest left hander.
Staying in fourth, you should brake as you reach the incline, as late as possible, bringing the car down to nearly 90mph (144kph) and feather the throttle for an instant as you ride over the crest (im NOT using TCS, so i have to feather it, if i was, then i probably wouldnt).
As soon as you are over, still drifting right, you should be flat out (no offence mini-man!) with the car firstly trying to hit the right hand wall, then as you slide down, trying to scupper your plans by hitting the left hand wall...
Over T2.
Braking as you cross the second trap, you should be into third for the right hander, hugging the wall tightly, and then clipping the white kerbs twice as you exit onto the straight, making sure you dont chew on too much sand, and drifting out right, full throttle, into fourth.
Over to the left on the straight, and turn in early to clip the right hand red rumble, straightening up immediately and into 5th, still full throttle, aiming for the back wall of the long right hander coming up.
Brake late, and slide into the wall, oh no, sorry, thats just what i nearly always do... erm, brake fairly late, and down to third, as you drift right out to the wall on the left, there are some stone coloured kerbs here, you should be off the throttle, bringing the car round as you nearly touch them, then reapplying it much earlier than you think, and drifting out to the left again, changing to fourth as you pass the goldish armco that is the beginning of the bridge on your left hand side, clip the blue kerbs on the left, hit 5th just before the sign that is situated overhead, and make sure not to touch the sand at all on the right.
A lap.

Martin Brundle would be proud.

I hope that helps anyone.
Someone please tell me where i am going wrong...

...you should be flat out (no offence mini-man!)...
None taken :D
I'll make sure I read carefully your post tonight, I already found 2 turns where I shift down one gear more than you do.

flat-out
I already found 2 turns where I shift down one gear more than you do.

I found out earlier from Smallfryz and Sphinx that I am taking the hillcrest bend in the wrong gear also :dopey: I had been going into the bend in 4th then braking and dropping to 3rd and then back up to 4th again quickly so as to avoid the momentum going into the far right wall ... now it seems its best to just stay in 4th and brake :) I will get back on it tonight and find out if this is the reason for my loss of speed from T1 to T2 👍

Cool write up by Vexd 👍

Thanx man, i just want to help, and come first.

So i guess im gonna have to start bouncing off of walls like everyone else around here!!!! (j/k) :grumpy:

I have since had it pointed out to me by the vertically challenged potato one that i am taking the double right hander after T1 wrong, and i could be flat thru there if i improve my line, maybe i can catch you all after all.

Dont you just love the WRS and GTP? how else would we all get so good at these things?

Man, this track really is without any personality. You can't recognize anything, except the crest, from the regular EC track.
*sigh* :grumpy:

Btw, nice write up Vexd! 👍
I would love to see a vid from some of the top-notch racers too see what your lines are.
Too bad we can't because of the no-time-discussion-rule. :grumpy:
Ruins for bad racers like me. :dopey:

Getting closer

T1 37.723
T2 1:17.723

I have been back and forth. Good T1 bad T2, Bad T1 good T2 and so on. I know I could probably knock off another .5 or so but I don't know about after that.

I use the DS2 as well.

Ran a few test runs before heading to bed. Boy I need improvements, or maybe just some sleep. :p

Actually, you don't need to care about the T1's, or T2 for that matter, it's the final time that counts anyways. :D

And it did work, thanks alot man 👍

T1= 38.013
T2= 1:18.566

Thanks again vexd :D

Are the brown brick pavements part of the track or not?
I hope so ;)
I guess as long as you don't hit the invisible wall it's OK for that part of the track.
