Little 60km session before i went to bed, played around with the settings a little bit, think i found a combo i liked. Anyways, got a few 1'05.3-5 but they were dirty 👎

Just a few things i've found very useful in T1:
For the very first turn, brake before the gear flasher starts blinking (VERY EARLY) and aim your car away from the turn. I try to brake to about 105km/h. That way you will have the biggest possible radius through the corner and you will have the best exit speed. For the tricky left turn after the hill, i brake to about 110km/h after the car lands from the tiny uphill "jump". The key is an extremely late apex. Brake early again to about 105km/h for the tight right hander right before T1.

Hope this helps those who aren't getting into the 24's for T1.

Sorry for the extremely ghetto picture, but i'm dead tired and i have get up for work in 7 hours after two 10 hour days in a row

hey, where abouts r u from in melbourne?
i live in Gladstone Park, which is 15mins northwest of city.
nice time btw, i'm still working on setup, but its clear that very little has to b adjusted in suspension, and gears dont really need to b changed, no aids is a must, and B.B should b at default. lsd, well, dunno, decreasing the values to 10/15/10 seems to work good 4 me. i will write up a better dscription soon, when i get the chance to play it again. nice splits hotboi 👍

Im the other end of town mate.. In croydon - eatern suburbs. Add me to msn if you have it bro.
Atm running the car as is, yet to do an oil change, not that 20hp does alot really.
Will give your lsd settings a go.

UPDATE:
Lsd settings seemed to have helped out... Thanx holl01

T1 - 24.852
T2 - 1'05.976

Had my 1st run last night and came up with this :

T1 : 24,836
T2 : 1:07,072

I've seen a dirty T2 of 1:06,3 , but lost my settings after that lap, DOH !

I never shift down to 1st the whole lap, as I find there's too much spin, so I just stick to 2nd for the tight hairpin section. Wish I knew the names for all the corners

Looks like Luxy's leaderboard is down ? Can anyone confirm that ?

A tuesday afternoon and D1 driver Kenny Schabow rolls out of bed and into his immense stable of highly-tuned fine cars. But something is missing.

"I don't have a Honda S2000 LM Race Car '01!"

Great txt kenny :D
And it maked me aware that all 104km i have done so far was done without Oil change :P:P

And guys please post your setapa :ouch:

20hp makes big differences. Id say as much as .2 - .5 per lap.

First session splits:

T1 - 0'25.117
T2 - 1'06.100

Still busy adjusting car setup, though this car doesn't need more than a little fine-tuning it seems.

Oh and @CFM: my graph in the tuning screen shows 414hp and 420PS, was that a typo or am I missing something?

Hey, my side of town. Kinda. I'm in Lysterfield.
-------------------

Anyway, I just did 5 laps.

T1 25.003
T2. 1.07.006 (Note: I punted it into the wall hard on the left hander after the chicane, just before the Split time..grrr)

It's all standard except for gears which I've set too 4 Auto, and the brake balance, which is 3 at the front and ummm double figures at the back....

Last week I said I'd get my first Div 3 Podium....I got 2nd. This time i've increased the challenge.

I 'will' win Division 3 this week, or I will cry.

Also i found some Honda Hubcaps, to put on it...It's so retro cool....

This car is awsome, it turns well, goes like stink, and can brake with the best of em.

The track is fun but I have only ran on this track mabey 4 time in GT4. Whats worse is I am still doing some bad habits I picked up in GT3, which I haven't played in almost two years. So it is safe to say that I suck at this track and I need to learn it. But hey thats whats great about the WRS, it alows you to master new tracks and cars that you previously have not done.

I am still haveing a hard time on the long left sweeper at the top of the hill, and the section from the tight hairpin to the tunnel. On the sweeper I dont know what speed to take it or when to brake, and where my apex should be.
On the section from the tight hairpin to the tunnel, 8 out of 10 times I clip 3 walls!

After 100 miles I have preformed one clean and fast (for me) lap and here are the splits
T1 25.226
T2 1'06.808

This combo is fun, adicting, and quite a challenge for me. I say 2 two thumbs way up to CFM this week. 👍 👍

The team idea for next week sounds like fun, and I am up to try something new!
Good luck everyone and happy racing!! :)

The sweeper (Massenet) is best taken by holding the inside line throughout the turn, in other words there is no clipping point at the apex like a 90-degree corner would have. Massenet tightens mid-turn so I generally brake at the top of the hill, hold the inside line and lift slightly at the tightening point, otherwise you'll be way off-line for Casino (the right-hander that follows).

I disagree.

I find that if you aim the car for the centre of the course as you hit the crest, and let it fly almost out to the right hand barrier as you down shift to 3rd, then hit the gas, the car will pull in, especially after selecting 4th mid-turn, allowing you to correctly position yourself to sweep past the red and white kerb at top speed.

Most important places for time loss are the section down to the tunnel after the hairpin, the box at the bottom of the hill, and the swimming pool section, which should be turned into (the left after the very short straight) in a chosen gear (mine's 3rd) then accelerated all the way through till you reach the tight right left as you leave the area and head for the final 3 turns.
Only then should you be hitting the brakes. Im in 5th by then.

Just my opinion Zera.

Any setups from Z. or Holl yet?

:grumpy: 👍

enjoyin this week.....

Yes, I hit the inside of the corner (Massenet) many times on my runs, because of the car that "pulls" itself into the the corner when one does it like vexd says. In fact I have to watch it every time to not turn too much into there.

For the section before the tunnel, I use 2nd gear for the hairpin and then 3rd gear for the corners before the tunnel.

My big problem is the chicane after the tunnel ... not enough exit speed.

i dont know if i'm happy or sad today. left of work and crashed my real car i'm not too happy about that. so i got the day of work got home for a day of racing. three laps in
T1 24.985
T2 1:06.492
theres a few places i can do better. i'm feel a lot better about that but i crashed my car

Z posted a setup back on i think page 2/3? Working quite well with it but i'm sure it'll be tinkered with in the future.

Edit: here it is.

Z.
@vexd: Looks as though you are getting along well this week -- nice times. 👍

anyone need a team mate for this weeks event? kragbees? r34jse?

Hey VTEC, long time no see ... ! I don't think we can choose ... CFM will be allocating it depending on your time ... but maybe it works out that way ! haha, I would gladly team up 👍 Just hope I can get a good time this week ... but there's still lots of time ...

We have a national holiday tomorrow, and I took off from work on Friday, so I will only see you guys on Monday again, after a few hours on this one. Still waiting for my home internet line ...

I bet CFM will put me in a group of 3 cause i'm so crap! :) My times so far reflect me using a Honda S500 race car! :p

Man, I miss that run-off they used to have at the bottom of the tunnel!!

Cant miss it now, though...SMACK!!!!

Anyone got any tips on brake balance? Right now Im running more in the rear (so I dont lock up the front at the end of the tunnel, and lose steering ability (or maybe I need to break sooner?)

Any hemp, er , I mean help, would be appreciated!:sly:

TIA,
Rob

Just a bit OT here...but had to let TimBrad know that his sig. made me laugh my a** off...I almost hit the floor laughing so hard after reading this...

...Podiums - 0 (Only podium i get is clearing them up after the awards)...

This is one of the best lines I've read anywhere!
Nice one there TB! 👍....

;) Glad to give you a chuckle, hope you didn't break any ribs :) If I'm a good boy CFM lets me stand on them and pretend i have won before i load them into the truck....

ill introduce myself in advance lol. im matt
Oh and where do you get the orange S2000? I can only get red, blue, and purple. I just opted for the blue one since i couldnt get the orange.

I think red = orange, depending on the hue on your TV? I have the orange one, all from the main honda dealership

Fun thread this week. You people are cracking me up.

I've run a lap and a half so far... yes... 1.5 laps... and it was a clean 1.5 laps.

Totally stock car, no mods, no adjustments, nada. I gotta say the car handles like a double-tapered-brown-trout with the aids on. Of course my drunk rodeo clown driving style doesn't help either. But here's the result:

T2 - 1:15.434

Maybe a few more horsies and some wrenching on the chassis will help. Until tonight that's where I am.

@Kenny... fun reading! How's Kimi doing lately. I couldn't hook up with him last weekend after the show in Montreal, but we're on for a Saturday afternoon round of golf at Indy... hehehe

Try a brake balance of 1/2

Im using this and not having a prob with under or oversteer...i brake pretty early on the first corner but i am on the gass before i even start the turn, i found that soft braking through the whole track is workin nice for me, i tried using my dual shock again but could only manage a T2 of 1'08.579 which is a long way off my dfp T2.

That reminds me. I also haven't changed my oil yet. :ouch:

I have the Kolyana Edition

The car handles quite nice. No AIDS required. The only problem I have is going through the chicane and clipping the rumple strip. Lots of wheel spin after that. But that's my own fault.

Thanks, I appreciate that! I'll give that a try, I was using 3/4, but like you said, that is probably too much braking for the track as a whole.
