Hey Neil! I'll let you know for sure in a couple of hours when I first fire up this combo ('working' right now :P) ... hopefully if I can repeat my Le Sarthe performance, might be able to give you something to worry about this week! :P

was suprised you fell so far behind in the last sector last week, you were only .22 behind me at the last split, but lost a further .8 in the run to the line!

Would like some cross-atlantic co-op, show em what us Brit's can do!
Maybe get Vexd and Exelero involved too, a trouble shared!.......

Neil

I always run a slow final sector for some reason, but yeah, last week was particularly bad and what made it worse is I KNEW it but could do nothing about it! Believe it or not, I actually shaved .6 off that final there from what I was running with all week :P *NOT* a good track for me, that infernal Infineon :ouch:

Dammit man, you have me hankering to go try this combo!

The main things to getting this track right, IMHO, are the Monte Carlo hairpin, which i take in 1st then 2nd at apex and then the bus-stop chicane after the tunnel!

Most of the rest of the track is fairly easy to get right. However the final right/left exit of the swimming pool is difficult, because if you set the car up for the rest of the track, it has a tendancy to want to oversteer into the right on the brakes.

Anything i can do to help, no prob!

PM's for specifics ok!

Neil

Got a good session in and best save has 24.4 T1 and 1'05.0 T2. A little to come off at t1 and t2 but not more than .5 I would imagine.

Nice work, i'm just gonna head out to buy this little beauty right now! koly if you're available i need you on MSN to save me :)

Come off it man!

Those splits are within .25 and .15 ish of hot's splits

False modesty/pretending to be dissapointed, is almost as bad as arrogance!, tho not sure what you are trying to portray here!

My splits: 25.213/1'06.313
hot's splits: 24.447/1'05.602

.25/.15 between us?

...and which part of my post shows any disappointment?

"...still a slow as hell T1. :indiff: "

That? Consider this, I've only made a .2x progress since my first posted splits. That IS, "slow as hell :indiff: " to me.

Oh, next time when you're not sure what I'm trying to portray, keep the comment to yourself, better yet, PM me. "Fake modesty/disappointment?" Damn, you've hurt my feelings.

Man, I feel like I'm freaking stopping at Monte Carlo hairpin!

Some initial splits:

T1 - 25.230
T2 - 1'08.192

MUCH more time to be had as this run was very sloppy

I also notice that one the DS2 when I'm downshifting quickly, the controller doesn't register if I hit the button in quick succession! I have to make sure it goes in then drop down again...maybe I'll have to switch downshift from L2 to R1 or something else and see if that works.

After watching F1 for years, does anyone else find they habitually swing to the right on the short downhill straight after Casino to avoid the "bump"?

Damn! you guys are thrashing me! I've opted out of the NA3 just yet, and am running low 1.14 T2's, not great, hoping the extra boost will get me to 1.09 T2 w/ some practice :) btw, handbrake turns on the tight left chincane is amazing if you nail it right!

Hehehe, I hear you. But the bump doesn't seem as bad as it is in real life, so I got rid of that habit rather quick in GT3 already. ;)

Perfect car ;)

T1 24.919
T2 1.07.712

(after 104 km ;) )

hOt6o4bOi and veilsidebr - can you guys share your settings ?
I run with all default except for gear auto set on 10 (no trany trick)

Kenny, it's a common problem, i don't think it's the ds2, more likely that it's the car!
Some change down thro the box slower than other's.
Was having the same problem till i changed the gear settings to auto 4, now it drops down thro the box sweet as a nut!

Ok. I've been on auto 4 for a cpl hours now, it shifts a little faster, still not as fast as I'd expect though for a JGTC type car.

The only place it really comes to light, is on the change down from 6th to 2nd for the bus-stop.

I have found that if you hit the down-shift too early, then the engine braking effect stops the box shifting. Start shifting a fraction later and it works quicker, tho the timing is VERY tight!

Hmm....haven't experimented with that yet. I do know I'm on auto 4 and final 4.930.

New splits for me.

T1 - 25.048
T2 - 1'06.473

Awesome :) I was just practicing with this car last night on the Nurb, coincidentally.

Hi Matey, yes indeed...you are not alone.Funny that you mentioned that! :)
Have high hopes for this race ( as usual) as I really know this one for 30 something years...but I/m sure the Dic1 guys will show me how it is properly done...

A tuesday afternoon and D1 driver Kenny Schabow rolls out of bed and into his immense stable of highly-tuned fine cars. But something is missing.

"I don't have a Honda S2000 LM Race Car '01!"

Schabow searches his home country, the USA for this car but finds nothing. So he has his pilot fly him in his private jet (complimentary to all new D1 drivers) to the land of the rising sun to find an example of this car. However, the pilot, TeamLosiRacer, is new to aviation and tedious things such as navigation bore him. Unbeknownst to Schabow, they land in Korea. Upon locating a car dealer all they find is 4 Hyundais. One seemed strangely familiar.

"Peyton, what is that you are eating?"

"Kimchi."

So, they hop back into the Learjet with just enough fuel to land on Tokyo R246. Taxis swerve to avoid being clipped by the wings of the jet.

"You are FIRED!"

Escaping Tokyo police, Schabow manages to slip inside the local Honda dealer. Browsing through the ordinary Civics and Accords, he becomes disheartened. Suddenly, a Honda salesman approaches him.

"You American?"

"Yes, I am."

"Do you have American money?"

"Yes - hey I need an S2000LM with NA STage 3 and racing medium...."

"Walk right this way!"

The car is immaculate. $450,000 later and Schabow and Peyton drive off just as the Tokyo police surround the storeroom. Luckily the Honda shop had a very fast oil change for only 50 dollars.

Back in the States, Schabow eyes an ad poster for the 2005 WRS event at Monaco, scheduled for May 22.

As he arrives on the track to try out his new ride, he is approached by none other than Kimi Raikkonen, the world class F1 driver. Schabow gets some tips and heads out to the track. After some hot laps, Raikkonen decides to sponsor Schabow for the rest of the WRS season.

"Thanks a lot Kimi! Hey - who is that man talking to Daniel and Curtis?"

"Oh, that's Michael Schumacher. He's sponsoring them.

Haha, another great write-up, Kenny.

Well all, I might be away for a while to race in the JGTC Series. But I may yet find time to run a few laps for WRS. See y'all later.

Oh, and CFM: Great combo this week, it must be a blast.

im gonna be racing just as hard on both series :D watch out!!!

hey guys, im using all default settings

for some odd reason it wont log me out of my account for teej6o4 to log in
so im gonna post his sectors for him

t1 - 0'25.665
t2 - 1'08.799

T1: 25.646
T2: 1'08.034

Soooo much to learn on this track ... I am taking some advice from MinorShunt (thanks man) regarding proper cornering techniques and it has helped me already ... you know, the BASIC stuff you fast types take for granted, but we newbies find very counter-intuitive (the age old slow in, fast out ...).

There is ALOT to be taken off here and I duffed up a few key corners, but it's a fun combo.
