Veeerrry EEEnnteresting, I'll have to try something a little different and see how it works, thanks for the tip!

Thanks for your advice guys, and I think I have found what was keeping me away from 17.4's: top speed. I noticed this car has less power at the redline than a bit before, so I switched to 320 (back to 6th gear) and my current lap has a T1 of 17.482 (best seen is 17.450, still away from that 17.35 superwally talks about :scared: )

Oh, and I used my "trick" again, but I don't know if it gave me any benefit. It was almost the same as not using it.

today's progress

west= 15.599
sway= 17.544
east= 27.584 / 52.552
sum = 85.655 ........1'25.695

Going back to try the 320, 6th gear option
I was using 380, 5th gear option
I too noticed the hp drop so I went up to the 380

New Splits Tonight. Improved on the Speedway and East. No Change to West -

West - 15.635
Super - 17.641

East T1 - 28.487
East T2 - 53.368

Total - 1:26.644

Some weekend sessions to go. Will see if I can catch these fast guys. :crazy:

Later
Kevin

a pathetic effort for the results thread pic

luxy update coming up EDIT done - nice div spread this week :)

reaching my limit I think.

west: 15.801
super: 17.573
east: 28.171/53.268

Total: 1'26.642 I think that's correct.:dunce:

EDIT:

Had a little time before lunch

west: 15.776
super: 17.573
east: 28.082/52.700

Total: 1'26.049 Again I'd check the math!

Speedway: 17.460 (.435)
Top speed 320
Total: 83.859
I'll probably leave this time as it is, and will concentrate in the other courses (I've only had one session at East yet)

Division 1 is all really close, final sectors will decide here.

Well, I'm slowly getting faster everywhere. I had a 17.475 at the Speedway only to drop my right-hand tires below the line in the final turn, so the time remains the same for now.
My time at the west is actually slower by .08, but my final time was .3xx quicker. I even had a 15.217, only to slow too much for the turns. I love this stuff!!!
New times:
west = 17.555
super= 15.355
east = 27.399 t2= 52.101
sum = 84.912

Can't wait to see what the weekend brings. My gearing was a 340 at the speedway and the others float between 270 and 290.
RACE ON!!!:cheers:

Yeah, I know I need all three times, I'll edit in a time for the West course as soon as I get there, but so far I've just had time to do the following:

Super Speedway
17.560

East Course
27.347
52.112

West Couse
15.558

Total Time=1:25.223

Since no one guessed what was my "trick", I'll reveal it: I really don't like this car's understeery nature, so I used medium tyres at the rear to induce oversteer. It improved my time at the west course, but I didn't use this at my last speedway run. Maybe it won't work for everyone, but for me it did. There isn't much of a gain, maybe 0.15 at the last complex, but the track is short so every hundredth counts!

And I just noticed chuk has a .355 at my nightmare track! Are you sure it's that time or have you mixed your West and Speedway splits? Man I am truly getting mad at this 🤬 oval! :crazy:

Well,I don't know...is it legal?
I know that it is a less grippy compound but there was written Racing Soft and not Racing Soft or harder... :ill:

I have been taking a look at previous races and they talk about it as a legal thing. If it's not, I'll race again with the correct settings.

Nice trick CMir but unfortunately we have to use the racing soft.

Bummer, we used to be able to use harder tires if we thought it would help :indiff:

Jerome

Jerome

In all my races I have hosted you had to use the tires mentioned.
I never used the words "or harder compounds"

What happened under other mods commands doesn't count.

So I ran a bit more, now with the correct specs:

West: 15.201 (.147)

0.022 worse than my previous lap. I can see up to 0.1 but it's very hard to get. And I had a lap 0.05 better but dirty :grumpy:

EDIT:
W: 15.201 (.147) - 250
S: 17.460 (.435) - 320
E: 26.918 - 51.155 -280
Total: 83.816

Not happy with East yet: one tenth at the 2nd sector and another at the last to get.

west: 15.379
speedway: 17.563
east : 27.314 / 52.122

85.064

the only thing I could catch this week was my girlfriends cold. :ill: Some fast splits out there. 👍👍

:dopey: :cheers: :banghead: :mad: :confused:

Sorry about that Cmir, my bad.:guilty: No, this proud American driver is still slower than you.

edit: no new splits but here's a picture

the only thing I could catch this week was my girlfriends cold. :ill:

Know what you mean Jake. I caught mine from my grand daughter. Feels like the whole Russian army is riding horses through my head. :ill::grumpy:

Can't seem to improve on my last. May submit later today.

Managed to improve at all three tracks

west 15.410 (270 gears)
super 17.546 (320 in sixth gear)
east 27.230 51.794 (280)
TOTAL 84.750

Will probably only run one more session and concentrate on East. I can run 0.100 better at T1 pretty consistently and there's probably another 0.060 from there to the finish. So in one hour that gives me about 120 chances to get the last two turns right.

I had a go as well earlier in the day

West: 0.15.794

East: T1/ 0.27.534
T2/ 0.52.395

Super: 0.17.780

330 top speed in every track
Great car, great tracks, great combo 👍

Well, I got some time in this morning for a few laps at Super and West Motegies, but only slight improvements resulted.:indiff:

Super
17.528

West
15.394

East
27.347
52.112

Total Time=1:25.034:tup:

Well done, 2078TM, the Race is On!! :cheers:
I know I have to improve my east time, but I'm pretty sure the others are going to stand as they are now.

got some new splits:

t1=15.790
t2=17.513 [yes, that's right!!!]
t3=29.682 t4= 55.684
sum= 88.892

the oval brings back memories of super-karting!!!:cheers:

What is the use of your post?
just trying to clarify that in the qualifier you are authorised to use a harder compound on the rear if you like more oversteer.
jerome's 'mistake' was probably caused by the fact that the old rule of using harder compounds has never been revoked in firm text.
that's all there's to it dear sjaak.
