The rules clearly state that final lap times are not to be discussed. Posting your laps at various databases for all to see is considered discussion. (Especially with links provided to point them out) I would advise that the times be deleted until the deadline has passed. If I see anyone's times posted around the net before the deadline in the future, they will be DQ'ed for the week. This will be the only time I will bring this up, I'm a bit dissapointed that I have to at all.👎

The first chicane on the straight I can nail, but that second one still bothers me. If I jump the kerb on the left-hander, the car lifts off and gets horribly unstable braking into the right-hander, I find a more gentle approach to be faster overall. What is everyone else doing?

Brake before the second (100m) sign. Ride the red paved area as much as possible. Seems that if I brake while on this red section, I lose very little grip and can point myself right back on to the straight.

Mulsanne corner: faster in 2nd or 3rd? I assume everyone is cutting this to the max? Oh and I find the right-hand kink going into Indianapolis can be taken well in 6th, and Indy in 3rd, IF you get your braking and car positioning right. As for the Porsche Curves and Maison Blanche, what's the fastest approach to this section? I'm basically running under controlled throttle in 5th until the final left-hander of Maison Blanche.

I was cutting it at first, but I find myself taking a proper racing line for Mulsanne corner now. Seems to give more straight speed. Indianapolis sounds right, as do the Porsche curves.

Can't seem to push it anymore than what I've already done.... :grumpy:
Time submitted...
Now I'm just going to sit back and eagerly await to see what the Rally event will be..

@Kolyana: Unless the other 2 drivers below you come up w/faster times...you've got this race in the bag! :D

Good driving ya'll! :D

She definitely does not have it in the bag... I didn't want to push her this far, but I might just have to... I just beat my other final time, but I'm doing so crappy compared to what I'm capable of. I'm ALMOST at a point where I'm satisfied. I'm not D3 anymore, I'm D2. I wouldn't mind being promoted before this week's race is over just because then more D3 drivers will have a chance at podium. I've seen T6s of 2'43.8xx... Now I just need to lay down a T6 around there with a decent beginning to not make me feel like I lost a whole bunch of time, and then I need to finish off strong as well...

I've finally managed to get a better S-15 total time

New splits:
T1: 0'29.220 (-0.061) (drifting all the waaaaaay :P)
T2: 1'00.768 (-0.237) (ruined the chicane though)
T3: 1'26.744 (-0.092) (also not a great taken chicane)
T4: 1'48.131 (-0.301) (wonderfully taken corner)
T5: 2'15.257 (-0.295) (lol, almost the same difference, but this section wasn't bad at all)
T6: 2'43.407 (-0.147) (too careful, losing much time, because the speed at T6 was better in my old lap)

*trying to improve my lap even more :P*

Finally! After 2 days, managed to better my time by ~.4. I still feel I could get another .5 out of it, but I'm pleased with the result.

T1: 29.131
T2: 1'00.542
T3: 1'26.493 (slid a little.. should have been 1'26.0 :( )
T4: 1'47.936 (missed the braking point a little.. could go faster)
T5: 2'14.912
T6: 2'42.694 (most poor entry into Porsche curves that you will ever see)

Good driving ya'll! :D

Thanks for the kind words, but Rotbarsch, Lemke and Solrac all went quiet ... too quiet; they might have pulled something out that I don't even know about.

And KLR ... I just have this awful feeling that he's going to pip me at the post in the nth hour :scared:

Done. Time being submitted now... I won't "pip" you Nat, I'm giving you 17+ hours to come up with something faster! Haha, here are my final splits, knocked about .95 seconds off of my last best time... :)
T1 29.654
T2 1'01.402
T3 1'27.163
T4 1'48.649
T5 2'16.266
T6 2'44.441

I see more than another second for me if I were to do my best on every section, but that's impossible as you all know... So, I'm going to submit this time, it's good'nuff for me.

Good luck to everyone!

OMFG!! Damn this circuit!! I absolutely nailed the first 3 sectors until Indianapolis, pressed it too hard and the rear spun out on the rumble strip. I finished the session facing oncoming traffic... *Must get Puck927 off my back!!*

Major improvements that doesn't mean ****: :(

T1: 29.001 (29.422)
T2: 1'00.748 (1'01.192)
T3: 1'26.146 (1'26.426)
T4: 1'47.982 (1'48.130) *Edit: (I meant 1'47.982, not 1'46. I wish)*
T5: RETRY!! :banghead:

Is anyone else having troubles with the Analyzer? I went in here to check my replay and it displayed only half of it (this only happens half the time).

I have six other replays saved from this particular test and sometimes it shows half of those replays, sometimes all. I can find no rhyme or reason for this, however. Not a very big deal as I know the replay is clean, but I did want to see where I was jumpy on the brakes or throttle..

I cant get in the mood to keep trying this now. I've spent way too many hours and I fear that if I spend more time on it it will bore me so i'm practicing my dirt (or lack of dirt) skillz! I cant wait to start doing some dirt stuff so long as it isnt on ice/snow or grand canyon ;-)

i wanna kill something!

t2 - 59.568!!!!!!!! and i screw up it because of a phone call
Holy F that's fast. And as if you're the slowest one out there... Jeebus. That's like more than a half a second faster than your currently posted T time. Hot damn. 👍

I've just submitted my final time. I dont think I can improve my time without spending at least another hour on it which i'm not rly in the mood for doing. I've got to revise for some exams this week so i'll be struggling for time for the dirt race starting tomorrow which is good news because I kinda bored myself out with this one from having too much spare time. See you all at the finish line! GOOD LUCK!

EDIT: My Final Ts:
T1: 30.192
T2: 1'03.312
T3: 1'29.807
T4: 1'52.005
T5: 2'19.985
T6: 2'48.550

lol I beat my previous T4 time by 3 thousandths of a second!

That, is freakin' fast!! I was gonna pop some champagne for having a faster T1 than you did on the leaderboard, but I doubt that's the case now...
OK, I think I'm done for good now. Made up 0.3secs overall, which I'm pretty happy with. I know I can still do better, everything from T4 on was terrible... :yuck:

T1: 28.765
T2: 1'00.439
T3: 1'26.161
T4: 1'47.879
T5: 2'15.359

Damn the fast just get faster!! Good job there Kolyana, you are very fast! Ive tried to match your times but just cant. Oh well ill give it one more shot tonight and then i will send in my time. I need to findout what time the deadline is in eastern time zone (to the calculator I go, Hey I just graduated from H.S. I deserve to be a lil' lazy until i go off to College!). Im thinking that this track really may not suit my driving style where there only seems to be one fast way through the turn ( On tracks like monaco and Grand Valley I have several fast lines). Also doing this competition has been fun but it really makes me wish that GT4 was online, because what we are doing really isnt racing so much as it is qualifying. So through these competitions we are seeing who is the fastest qualifier, but we must remeber that racing is not qualifying and skills such as passing, fuel and tire mang. are also nearly essential as to who can turn a single fast lap in a controlled situation. Sure we may be fast in this situation but can we do the same fast lap, over and over again?

None the less I look forward to next weeks race!

I think I really done this time. Shaved another 1.3 secs off my ghost and I doubt I'll pull another 28.7xx T1 again. :indiff:

Update:

T1: 29.074
T2: 1'00.844
T3: 1'26.157
T4: 1'47.623
T5: 2'14.553
T6: 2'42.449

Thanks TeamLosiRacer!

Stick with the WRS, because CFM really likes to keep things spicey and mixed up a little. A few weeks back we ran a 3 lap 'race' against dumbed down AI opponents, which gave a whole different feel to the week's event, and next week we're on a rally ... so running singularly will actually be pretty realistic!

Who knows, maybe CFM will introduce a 10 lapper or something with tire management being an issue one week .. feel free to make your suggestions in the suggestions box!

But yes, of course, racing against eachother would be entirely different and the only plus I can hand the likes of Forza on the XBox ... but in saying that, I love the WRS and I love the variety ... it'll certainly keep me entertained until GT5 :P

Aww, i doub ti will be sumbitting a time this week, i've had a lot on and have barely had time to jump into my little bentley :( But i'll be submitting for sure i hope next week! :)

I thought you were quiet, TimBrad! Ah well, there's always next week, like you said :)

Ran a few more laps and slashed .6 off every sector .... expect where it counted. For some reason, I've never run the second half of the course quite like I did last Saturday!

I've spent too much time on this ... what will be will be. Time submitted and best of luck to everyone!
