GT5 2.0 new NASCAR models?!

I actually like NASCAR. And I don't even have a mullet!

I was on a pitcrew team for a Mid-American Stock Car. It was Tons of fun. I really miss doing it. I was incharge of keeping track of lap times for the driver. Before the race I would set up air pressure. And after the race I would check tempature and air pressure again.

So, bring on the 2011 Models.

I have to agree. It's out version to attempt competitive racing but without any passion. I would much rather have just one 2010 NASCAR and one 2011 NASCAR and then more LMP or non-Japanese cars.

Are you talking about the sport or the actual cars themselves? Hey, I hate rallying. Does that mean I complain when PD implements rally cars in the game? No. I can use the rally cars on any race track as it is not restricted to dirt or snow. If you dislike NASCAR then fine, the cars are not restricted to the ovals on itself, instead you can take the vehicles on a variety of courses.

So maybe you do not like the actual NASCAR vehicles. That's fine too. Just don't use them. Just remember that a large percentage of GT players take an interest in NASCAR.

PD spending time making new NASCARs instead of more tracks or different cars is a diverse issue, but I for one am happy with anything PD further adds to this game. Why complain about more cars?

I'm a fan of NASCAR, so I am actually pretty excited about this. I wish PD would have just made the Sprint Cup stocks like the RM cars, though. With all 4 manufacturers, "sponsorship" from GT on every car, changeable numbers with fonts, and the ability to paint it.

I agree high speed ring is a great road course for nascars do to the daytona like turn at the end of the straight try that sometime it's not a "just a left turn"

Not a big fan of HSR. I much prefer Monza to run the COTs on.

And do I know you? :P
 
I always think about it like this, We watch sprinters run around a track no?

Well Nascar is the BEEFED up version of that, instead of running 10mph... you are going 200mph at times and inch apart from eachother battling physics. Some intense stuff!!!

Now sure I really enjoying only WATCHING the last 50 laps, but DOING it(which GT provides) must be funkin AWESOME!!!
 
The manufactures and the teams are probably the ones asking that they be updated. Nobody here knows the business plan but NASCAR, manufactures, or sponsors could be paying to have this done as well, if that's the case that could be helping make this a free update. Also NASCAR does have a marketing machine here unlike most, they know that this is a great market to be in.

They are no reskins they seem to have the new front bumpers from 2011 (not that I know all that much about it)

Its nice to see America get some love (not that I care much for Nascar... to be honnest I dont like it a bit) but it would also be nice to see Europe get some love (DTM for example) and Australia (V8 supercars) just to name a few... and I would be a all lot more happy... I dont use the current nascar cars let alone the new ones...

NASCAR changed the front of the cars removing the splitter. This in turn means that two cars can draft together quicker than a pack.
 
I hope that at some point he adds more American Muscle...
 
Pretty sure it was Kaz's idea to update the cars. Why? Its to keep up with the Offical Nascar game that has a new one released every year. If you go to the store (atleast in America) you'll see a sticker on the GT5 game saying Exclusive Nascar tracks and cars! Also I think Kaz actually has an interest in Nascar like he said in an interview, he didn't expect it to be so good until he went to a race. Its true, you go to one Nascar event and it'll change your mind about the sport. Its close racing with cars setup like a stock car to an extent. So its not meant to handle like an F1 car. I don't understand why people hate it so much, you should watch them drive those cars in the rain on a road course. F1 drivers think highly about Nascar drivers because taking a tank around a track like they do is not easy business.
 
I don't get why people who don't like certain cars in the game feel the need to complain about them? This isn't made for just you, it gives you options and you choose what you want to drive. This is ridiculous a whole thread just to complain about cars you aren't forced to drive...don't say to get a platinum you have to drive it, you don't need a platinum trophy. Give people too many options and still they complain.

I like Nascar because they are as different in racing as Formula 1, these guys are the opposite of F1. Heavy, big and powerful and half the fun is driving these monsters around a course at respectable times.

Nascar is very interesting, despite the fact that ovals looks "piece of cake" in the TV... but reality is that nascar is a car series with lots of fans, lots of events, and a very proud background history.
 
Um... what is wrong with finally not seeing 2 Jeff Gordans on track... I do not know about you but that is really annoying. Also, it is just a livery. The car is barely changed. I bet they reused the interiors like they did on most of the 2010 cars.

Doubt it will make it because of the beer sponsor. If we get a Dodge, it will probably be Kurt Busch, with the #22 Shell car. However, it would be sweet if we got Brad's nationwide car (Discount Tire Dodge Challenger).

I think we're getting the same drivers as the 2010 cars, 8/11 of them on the screenshot were the same drivers as last year the other 3 new cars weren't in the shot.

NASCAR is just like anything else when on a road course. So why not just drive the cars on a road course, like in real life.

it's about the Cars .. get some friends and take the same stock nascars and go race round the ring.. with a bit of setup tuning they are a buzz.

did you gold the nascar challenges?
