I agree NASCARS are terible and it is a stupid boring sport make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn.

you forgot a left turn.

I like NASCAR quite a lot and I am not from US, If I have the chance I watch it.

Some friends ask me, why do you like watching 40 cars around a circle?

I do not have an answer for that but I like it.

And yes in road courses they are great to watch, they are monsters an difficult to drive, just mechanical grip and little aero so races are very close.

So new 2011 Nascar cars are always welcomed. Better than nothing.

I myself am very excited about this news. As most of you that know me know I am very heavy into NASCAR. Although I do enjoy other forms of racing in this game, NASCAR is where my heart lies. I am a long time veteran of IRACING and have played every NASCAR installment from EA, so I am pretty excited PD has decided to update the NASCAR portion of this game. Say what you want about my beloved NASCAR, but I don't see any of you out there in real life doing what they do, week in, week out for the better part of a year. I'm not going to get in an arguement with anyone on here about NASCAR or how much I love it so don't even go there cause I won't respond. I'm not going to waste my time. Just want to give PD a thumbs up for thinking about us NASCAR guys. Thanks PD.

The more the merrier!

I hope the physics update will have something to do with the ridiculous draft/slipstream in the game. **crosses fingers**

I don't really have a problem with it and I probably won't drive them. The most important thing is that the DLC will offer at least some of the cars that just have to be premium.

Agree fully! It's also good to see some relationship with real life motorsports, if the NASCAR takes GT serious, the FIA or ACO might do it too.

ill assume your on a pad. racing nascar correctly with people you can trust is a lot of fun.

I agree. The draft is really over exaggerated. I hope that gets fixed.

NASCAR is just like anything else when on a road course. So why not just drive the cars on a road course, like in real life.

It makes so much more sense to me in that clip, potentially such close racing (and I so miss Infineon in GT!), but is that a full race? In that clip it almost seems like a super special stage in WRC. If Nascar was mostly varied circuits with maybe 1 or 2 ovals throughout the season it would be awesome, but I get the impression it is the opposite of that?

That is only the last 3 laps of the race, they are restarting after a full course caution. Only 2 races a year are run on road courses, Infineon and Watkins Glen, in the top division, Sprint Cup, and the division below it has at least two more road races, Montreal and Road America. They are really enjoyable to watch on road courses as they will beat and bang for position a little. Personally, I wish they would run more road races, so many of the new tracks are boring, and that includes Chicagoland Speedway, the track in my hometown.

What's the moaning about? I'm sure this was the easiest way to add more variety with the cars since all they had to do was change the skins (and the new nose and tail sectioN). To each to his own. If you don't like em, then press ignore button!

As you can tell by my screen name I'm not a Nascar fan but until you have actually climbed in one and driven it don't whine about them.I got a birthday present from a friend a couple of years ago for the 1/2 day package at the Richard Petty Experience located at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. After going thru the drivers training class in the morning we spent about 2 hours running a full on Nascar around the track and I can atest to the talent and strength it takes to do just a few laps much less a full 500 mile race. I don't watch or follow it at all but it sure doesn't hurt the game in any way.

I'm not a huge fan of watching NASCAR but I actually love racing them in GT5. :-)
Looking forward to the 2011 models as it'll be good to have new liveries as well as knowing that when I do an A-Spec race now, no one else will be in the same car as me. Theoretically anyway. Lol. :-)

Go to a race in person. It'll change your opinion.

I have done the same thing up here in Michigan at MIS. Awesome experience. Was also lucky enough to win a ride around with Rusty Wallace when he was still an active driver. Needless to say, after we were done, I had to change my huggies, lol.

+1 On that.

To those whiners, it's free, they're cars, and you're lucky they're not charging you.

True that. Anything free is a good thing. These whinners should remember, PD didn't have to do this update or the DLC, they could have left the game the way it is. They wern't obligated to do anything. Some of these people are acting like PD owed them something. Life could be worse, just look at NTG2011 and what their fans are going through with that game.

Thing is, these free updates are still "damage control", or "compensation", if you wish, for the embarassment that GT5 has been and still is in many ways for PD. Yes, they could have left the game the way it was at day 1, but they would have quickly lost support from the gaming community and ensured that this one would have been the last game in the franchise for once and for all.

Don't really like NASCAR, and I probably won't be driving the cars but it's good, well, great in fact to see that PD haven't given up on this game, cause I'm not ashamed to admit I kinda was. If this paves the way for new content, bring on the NASCAR!

EDIT: Why they took out Infineon bewilders me; I probably would have been driving the cars a bit more if it was still in, and especially now PD have the official NASCAR license. Also, Motegi is a sad loss. I hope they both return.

I don't think GT5 is an embarrassment to PD.

Yea. More like the "shortcomings that GT5 has had". Definitely not embarrassment. What other Sim would we (PS3 users because it's an exclusive) have been playing this past year, if not for GT5?

It's really not that simple. People think Ovals are so easy *sigh* You're going at much faster speeds with 30 or 40 other cars competing against you
