Hopefully this one makes it in.
LOL made my day  Well i think its pretty cool to have some new Nascar stuff and i hope for a new Nascar track too 👍

Eh, not a modern nascar fan, everything pre 80's was awesome imo, but What can you do really ? Personally i'mma buy the best lookin ones and use 'em as drift cars.

I don't think we will be getting any "new" NASCAR cars, meaning new drivers, numbers, teams, etc. Just all updated liveries on the 11 NASCAR cars that we already have. :indiff: Either way, its cool with me.

So we get free stuff, but people complain? :) Wht? If you don't like 'em don't use them but me on the other hand? I quite like NASCAR. :D

I agree NASCARS are terible and it is a stupid boring sport make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn, make a left turn.

Agree with you. NASCARS is a freaking stupid and boring sports.

Hi all,

I don't think that it is NASCAR hate that we're seeing in this thread. It is perhaps the concept of opportunity cost - that the 2011 NASCARS were included at the expense of other improvements that PD should have made, or given greater priority (eg fixing of shadows, more offline A-spec events, standing starts) as they have a much greater impact on gameplay.

That is unfortunately a long standing conclusion people keep making without ever being able to prove it. How do they know PD aren't currently working on those features? The fact that we've been getting Updates alone says they're fixing it, just because fixes like that aren't here now doesn't mean they won't be. If anything, its the overall attitude of "Give it to me now" that fuels this.

Fortunately though everybody doesn't share your narrowminded opinion.

I'm excited about the 2011 stock cars, I think the looks of them are slightly improved as well. The ugly front splitter is gone for example.

Ignorance multiplies itself. Sad, keep up this kind of crap and see how long PD keeps reading these pages and coming up with the notion that GT5 has some pretty ignorant members in it's community.

People complaining about PD not adding DTM cars, seriously do any of you think before you start speaking/writing? You need to get said FIA DTM license first then you can use the cars, last time I checked GT5 had ZERO up to date DTM cars, so that means they obviously do not have the license for those cars. Are they trying to get them, probably do we know nope. Quit complaining about things and enjoy what you do get for free, because for PD everything they do costs money...food for thought.

Those Stock cars look to be fully modeled exteriors, not reskinned cars with a different front end. Considering that the exterior is basically thin metal skin on a rollcage, PD would only need to scan 3 car exteriors as their interiors wouldn't need changing unless the cars are totally new in and out. GT5's premium are all fully modeled I presume, so livery switches and a front end swap would make no sense considering stock cars are one big shell over a framework. That would make for messy work especially if the body contours do not match up.

I just wish they had the sound right with these cars. It's not even close right now. Still, they're pretty fun to drive.

Ditto. The engine sounds on NTG2011 are far better.

Agree with you. NASCARS is a freaking stupid and boring sports.

Go to a live race before you judge, until then you're just blowing smoke out your 🤬.

How can 2011 Nascars be included as new cars?

It's the same friggin skin isn't it?

Nope. Its Chuck Testa.

Seriously, they are not the same skin. They are bodies from FOrd, Chevy, Dodge and Toyota and contrary to this missinformed believe that they are all the same, they actually are totally different cars built to the same regs.

Its the game Kaz made for Kaz and thats why GT has been lost to me for some time now.

Because it has cars you don't like?

My 2 cents..get over it.

How about you do the same since you can't change it. Not meant to be insult, but its a pretty childish the way you've worded this post all because its cars you don't want yet will never seemingly relize its very likely what others have wanted.

I'm disappointed to hear that they're adding more NASCAR models. I want to see some of good standard cars being converted into premium! Not bloody NASCAR... :nervous:

Totally agree with you man, but that's something our fellow American friends, would not understand (no disrespect, of course).
NASCAR in the UK isn't a great thing, as people find boring to see cars going round in circles for hours.
Having said that, ther's a small minority, in which I include myself, who loves the Indy Series and have followed it from the times when they were called Champ Cars 👍

I'm American and disappointed with this as I do not like Nascar. New cars are nice but why spend more time on Nascar? they should have made a 2011 Red Bull with the blown difuser sound too

Exactly how is it that they spent more time on NASCAR? Where does this illogical thought process come from? It doesn't even take up anywhere near a a huge amount of the game and yet just because it isn't what you wanted, they spent more time on it? There's at least around 900 more cars (technically more thanks to the incoming Racing Car pack) you easily can drive and not bother with NASCAR. I don't really like Mini Coopers (well, nothing from Mini really), but again I can optionally ignore them.

Are you familiar with the term "Exclusive"? That describes the F1 License and is why you see F1 2011 with a Red Bull RB7 and not GT5.

They added NASCAR due to American market, since more than 50% of American use XBOX instead of PS3, they want more people jumping from Forza 4 to GT5. Since most Asian country using PS3 and doesn't give a fxxk about XBOX. That is why they added the NASCAR.

Or this instead :)

You guys are in the wrong thread. You simply have to accept the fact that quite many (including me) enjoys NASCAR. And I don't think it's taken very long for PD to make these 2011 cars really. I mean they're not that different from the 2010 models, are they?

I would've been disappointed if they included that Lamborghini instead of the new stock cars. Italian super cars to me is as booring and stupid as NASCAR is to you, and that's coming from a swede, not an american...

NASCAR in the UK is a great thing when you're playing it online on GT5, its not about who has the best tune or best steering wheel but pure racecraft all the way through.

I love IndyCar too (Ovals and road courses) and would like more open wheel cars in GT5 (Formula Nippon comes to mind). btw I wouldn't really consider Champ Car too be IndyCar, Champcar didn't merge with Indy as much as they were killed of, most of the tracks as well as teams and drivers didn't move over to IndyCar.

2010 Ferrari F1...

The new cars are essentially free-bees. If you think about the time and effort that goes into creating a vehicle model it makes perfect sense. They can take an existing model and place a new skin on it.

It's not like they spent a lot of time on it. People who play FPS's on the PC can re-skin their character in an afternoon. I bet it takes only a few hours for them to take an existing NASCAR and place the graphics for the new team on it.

Compare that with days/weeks of CAD work that it would take to create an entirely unique car. For a free update, getting more NASCAR models is typical and you should be happy to get it. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

False sense of entitlement and ignorance permeates this thread. You don't like NASCAR vehicles, don't use. Don't waste time complaining about it, it's done, sealed and soon to be dealt. The nerve of you people, PD paid money for the NASCAR license so they are obligated to make good on what NASCAR wanted to see; their cars in GT driving on non typical stock car courses...go look it up. Presentation could have been better, but NASCAR didn't want the obvious NASCAR approach, why else would they also license out to Activision as well? Hate for any car in this game is ignorance, it's not like the game has so many cars that are uncompetitive it doesn't. There are very few cars that are so slow that it's hilarious to attempt to race them.

Too many people wanting whatever the other people have and if you didn't get it you want to cry foul as if PD is wasting your time and money.

2010 Ferrari F1...

Ferrari F1 was licensed separately from FIA F1 license, notice that it was one model that they had from the previous license for GT 5 Prologue and most likely it went up until the 2010 season, notice the license had already changed hands to Codemasters. Not sure why car companies do exclusive licenses with game makers anyway, you want exposure.

And?

Jordan
Why does Ferrari have the only F1 car in the game? While talking to a marketing representative for one of the manufacturers in GT5, I finally received an answer to this perplexing question. It all comes down to licensing and Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone. He commands control of the licensing for all of the cars in the series, with the exception of Ferrari. For reasons known only to Bernie and Ferrari, they have a special provision in their F1 contract which allows them to license their cars to whomever they please.

I wish the Blue Deuce was one of the 11, but this is awesome.

If you're not a NASCAR fan, there is plenty of other good stuff coming.

P.S. It drives me nuts when people say "just convert all the standards to premium". First, than is an insane amount of work and second these are the same people that complain about 31 standard Miatas.

I'm happy that we're getting more cars... and even tho they have different liveries... They are kind of different cars with new regulations being implemented this year...

Personally any new Premium car gets 👍 from me :)

Variety is the spice of life. NASCAR is entertaining and damn fun when you get a room full of pro's ready to go racing. Iovals are probably the most difficult form of racing, hence why people find it dull, because when you get spun or lose the draft you may spend 45 laps behind on your own, so yes it can get boring, but that adds to the challenge.

NASCAR is pretty popular in the online lobbies and I'm sure everyone who is racing those cars will be happy with the new choices.

I started racing NASCAR in GT5 because of how many races there were and even though I thought it would be terrible, it's not. The races are very intense when you race with people who know what they're doing.

I'm happy we get these cars for free in the update, and for those who want something else...well there's supposed to be DLC.
