the FGT is actually derivable at last, not sure if that's an update or just a side effect of using the cockpit view though.

update +1

The opening is SO much better. Everything seems to be better, but it's still the same game. That's a good thing.

Very nice, new features are almost what everybody asked for.
I would expected online filters to have a road car and a manufacturing year option, and applying pp or power/weight restrictions once the class is selected, but its a huge improvement anyway.
DLC cars are not of my interest at all, but I hope there will be many more packs during the next months.
What it seems a bit confusing to me is the tuning prohibition option. I tried to join a race with unmodified dtm or gt cars, but it seems that built in upgrades (such as full modified transmission) are considered tuning, even if you don't modify any o the factory settings. Had anyone tried and can put some light on this?

Very happy in deed. I've never been as hooked on a game as with GT5. This update just made it even better.

The new AI is so much better, been doing the FGT seasonal for a couple of hours and was often surprised by what "they" did to avoid crashing into my car or overtake.

I don't care about most of the stuff people complain about. What I care the most is the driving physics and that's where this game really excels. Drive it with a proper wheel and it's unbelievable the amount of feedback you get.

And I could go on and on, but got to sleep, to get to work early, to leave early and you know what comes next ;-)

Is it just me, or does the clutch work better now? I think the travel needed to activate it has been decreased, allowing for fast shifts without ending up in neutral.

FGT is very easy to drive now with stock setting, as is the Caterham and the Stratos with understeer setting. With the same setting I was oversteering even on straights with the 7 and Stratos before Spec 2.0.

The tires feel so good. Street radials feel very natural and close to life, while sports hard feels like more and consistent grip is there when using cars with sufficient weight. It was a tremendous joy to drive a couple of stock cars that come with sports hard tires, like the F430, 350ZRS and S15 Spec R AERO. So much grip and control now. It was good to drive these cars stock pre 2.0, but now its great to drive them.

Racing softs do what it should have done before: when heated it melts and provide sticky, gooey grip. Racing softs are super grippy now it's fun. Driving in the rain with 100% wet tarmac on racing rain felt good, and intermediates on 27% great. Intermediates now mean something.

DS3 control feel more direct with increased feedback, with less understeer and less compensation for oversteer. One steer control and bam, neutral entry into the corner. Such a Joy.

The cars' dampers seems working better. As with real life, I set my damper compression softer than expansion, but it still seemed the suspension was on full bump at kerbs. Not anymore, the car is stiff and rolls less, but still absorbs the gap.

Online physics felt loose before, but not anymore. Perhaps because of how the tires are better? I'm not sure if online/offline physics became closer, but online feels a bit better than before.

Smarter AI. Very smarter AI compared to before. Driving Kart Jr on Autumn ring mini with advanced AI setting, set laps to 5 and it took me all 5 laps to catch up to first.

To sum it up, I LOVE THIS UPDATE. I like the physics I like the AI. New stuff that was added gets the attention, but they made the game astronomically better by improving preexisting stuff.

I am so happy, the cockpit for the F1 car is so good and being able to change weather rules! The new load times just make the game better, I used to be able to have a drink during the loading I can't now but I still keep picking my glass up during the loading, force of habit :)

Can't wait for the DLC, Spa & the indoor kart track has me so excited! :)

I am 100% statisfied!

In my estimation, I am pretty cool with the Spec 2.0 changes. Most of all, the interior views for Standards (even if silhouettes) is a welcome addition. I'm okay with this. Many of the different tweaks to race menus and stuff are also very welcome and very good. I GREATLY appreciate the new intro video. Whether you love or loathe My Chemical Romance, it's much better hearing "5OUL ON D!SPLAY" than that MCR song. I still think "Moon Over the Castle" should be played. It's the GT theme. Why change it even if "fanboys" would riot if something more popular is played instead?

I mentioned elsewhere that I was mostly okay with the Spec 2.0 changes. Just makes the game a bit more enjoyable even as GT5 nears one year since its release. I tend to feel a bit down sometimes reading about disappointments and stuff. I sometimes feel I'm one of the few who tries to offer some positive light on things. We all have opinions, but in my own opinion, I'm pretty okay with most of the changes. Could the game be much better? Sure. Could this game be much worse in contrast? Sure. Positives tend to outweigh the negatives for me with these 2.0 updates. Anyhow, I'm fairly pleased with what I've played around with so far.

Pssh, you haven't met me. My name is Jakhole, Another Jakhole. Nice to meet you! lol

maxpontiac too. hey-lo!

After a play around, I'm shocked how well the black standard cockpits work out when you are actually driving. My mind kind-of blocks it out and it feels like a proper cockpit view lol

At first I was a nay-sayer, but I'm converted. They are fine for now and I appreciate them.

Yep. At night you can't even tell the difference! ;)

Jokes aside I like them for their better visible mirrors and the dials versus stupid RPM bar in premiums.
