I'm not too keen on a "story mode". GT is best with the impersonal structure they have always had.
Of course, in simulation mode I would still like to see some sort of progression. It can be done with prize cars. For example, after winning the Karting Experience special event, you win a low-level beginner formula car. The prize for winning the one-make beginner formula is a mid-level formula. In turn, the prize for winning the mid-level formula is a Formula GT. If you can't buy any of these cars from the dealership, it forces you to do the events in order.
Nevertheless, I want to see GT6 returning back to it's roots and going back to the traditional license system without any levels. If GT6 had a GT3 style interface and layout (for offline), with more events, more cars, more tracks and next-gen graphics and physics, I'd be very happy.
