There's a lot of the same car/s, different variations, but still many. e.g S2000/Skyline GT-R.

Also, I hope the S15 is Premium! & that there is variation within the selection of premium cars. e.g. 10 of those premium cars are GT-R's...

Go look at the car list in the news. The S15 is premium.

I have the car list organized in a spreadsheet now, but I won't be posting it up yet, so stay tuned!!

That's identical to what I have, except you have an extra car in there. There's 1031 cars in GT5, have fun finding that extra, lol.

You should also pay attention to the status of the car.. is it a brand new with no power loss or a high miler with worn engine and chassis..

If anyone of you working on this need webhosting for this, I'm happy to provide that. :)

I got something in the works ATM don't think its ready yet. It's up on the net but needs more work.... I think.

Too many of the same car...way too many of the same car.
I love the Mazda RX7 but come on:

The most of these cars got the same type of lights, kits, spoilers etc. The only diffrence is that you could order it with diffrent colors. Too count them as "diffrent" cars is nearly a joke. I can understand counting a standard stock car and a raced up with a racing livery as diffrent cars but this is too much.

And for Gran Turismo being the major sponsor in the D1GP i thought it were gonna be more D1GP cars. They even got Drift as an event i GT5. With that said i could only find four D1GP cars in the carlist. Two of them being Nomukens ER34 Blitz/Dunlop. Taniguchis Silvia and that US D1GP Falken RX7 was the others. VERY dissaponting!!!

Sponsoring events doesn't really relate to game content. That's marketing. Looks like GT5 has way more cars from Super GT and JGTC.

I'm not putting any car data in until GT5 is released, because there's the chance it may have changed from GT4 to GT5 for the sake of accuracy.

Sorry TC, but this is a lot of work. You're probably better off dropping a guide on some popular game sites as well and you might as well get credited for it rather than putting out a thread.

That's true. GT5 have also sponsored Formula D, 24H of Nurburgring and several other races without any of those cars appearing in GT5. It's just marketing.

Yep, something crossed my mind actually. Half the main sponsors for NASCAR have nothing to do with cars. The M&M's stock car for example. I don't think anything in the world has as little to do with racing and cars as M&M's do. It's all marketing, advertisements.

I hope you're able to convert it to another format for us non-Windows/Excel users to use as well :crazy:

I can put it into tab-delimited format. I'm not sure if csv files will work because of the car names. What are you trying to import into?

Not sure to be honest, anything that comes bundles with a MacBook or I can download for free. I'm able to open other MS Office files but Excel is a no go. I can view the contents using Quick Look, it just won't open fully.

Alright, just noticed Open Office has a Mac version, so I should probably be alright with the normal excel files. Thanks :)

Now that we have a full car list, I'm going to be using that to build a database of each and every car in Gran Turismo 5.

Are you thinking of this kind of database ?
http://www.myforza.net/carlist.php

Because i made the site, and i'm working to build something similar for Gran Turismo - but i won't be able to find the best approch to make it usefull until 24th november... (leaving aside all the work still needed beyond this, and the lack of psn api).
Both sites (Forza and GT) will share the same user account database.

There is also a Re Aeminaya RX-7 that's used in DIGP, as well.

Any progress here?
- I've been adding proxy data to my excel spreadsheet from GT4;
- Verified a lot of weights, power and torque figures;
- included BHP as well as kW for power;
- included Nm, ft/lbs and kgf.m for torque;
- included a kg/kW calculation;
- included a column for prize cars i.e. Int Lic A Gold;
- added most info from youtube videos and whatever RDK, tekken and amar have gifted us;
- working on updating drive configurations (MR, FR etc) and engine configs (V8 I4 etc) as well.

Current version is on my computer at work.
I'll re-upload a copy around 10am GMT tomorrow if anyone wants it.

Thanks slackboy72, sounds like great progress!
Do you need hosting for this? I can provide that of course.
