If anyone is responsible it had to be us? ... We loathed the whole GT Classic & GT Premium idea so they went back to the drawing board and now I get the feeling that after the initial showing of the 'damage' model they've gone back to the drawing board again.

Failing that I blame GT Mobile.

First post ,been a member since 2004, but usually someone will post what I am thinking.I feel the delay for Japan has somthing to do with Nascar.PD aquired rightsto Nascar and want things to be correct.Japan launch was March 25th , but Nascars March 28th race the cars will use spoilers not wings.Maybe a phase in maybe not.Game would be wrong first week it is out with a new high profile series.

It would be great if we could blame Google because of their slow development of PD's yet un-mentioned feature where you can create real driving maps and roads by exporting data from google maps. I wish...

Supercar Challenge is still a good game. So is MotorStorm (2, not 1). I have no idea why you don't like any of the PC games - they're ALL about the racing, the tutorials for GTR2 are great and they'll help you a lot. THe racing is close, there's tons of conditions and with 35+ car grids there's action a plenty. Strategy can also be factored in if you want to do longer races with pit stops, mechanical wear and pretty good damage.

Basically, it's got all the features everyone's been wanting GT5 to have, minus the car list (though you can go online and download thousands of add-on cars. Heck, I downloaded a 400+ car pack that had EVERY prototype from the last decade).

That's why i got a console so i do not need to install games on my PC ( which tend to crash the system due to lack of testing ). And to me it's not the wait it's the lies or the semi-lies, like ...

"we did not say it was coming out on december 2009", although fall 2009 they said it will come out soon, sooner that we'd expect. Well, i did not expect it to come out in 2011.
"we did not release the date for EU and US, the delay is just for the japan release", this kind of BS just gets to me. like i said ... semi-lies.

In order for them to be lies they have to actually know what they're saying is wrong. For all we know, they had every intention of releasing it when they said.

**** happens dude, in car development, game development, building development.

But whereas buildings are expected to run over time and budget (especially if they're a government building), and cars have no set release date, games are expected to show up on the dot no matter what could set them back.

Like I said, go occupy yourself with more of the great games you can buy. Nobody is forcing you to wait patiently in the corner, so if GT5 isn't out yet, it's still time for people to get over it.

And last I checked, many, many games still do an install on the consoles. If not that, then you have to wait a bit while it downloads updates so you can play on the internet (day 1 patches). If you've got a slightly older game, you have to download all the DLC so you can play online against people who bought it said DLC, even though you can't use it.

Really, compared to installing a game on Steam and letting it do an automatic update in the background by itself, there isn't much of a difference.

Except if your computer is an absolute abortion.

I dunno... I would think when you are announcing something which you have control and intimate knowledge of in direct response to an inquisition, stating something to be certain when you do not know that it is would be a kind of lying...

I would think that merely misrepresenting that they actually have a specific date when they clearly don't is knowing that they are wrong about what they are saying.

What you have to remember, is that the chain of command for this game is larger than the car list, the translator answers to KY, who answers to some representative from SONY, who answers to some middle management from sony, who answers to some upper management from sony, who answers to the financial guy who answers to the board of directors who answers to some stockholders who answer to their fashion accessory dim fake-boobed botox filled wives because they're old men.

Only takes one of those guys to fart and the whole schedule goes down the drain. And with GT5 reportedly costing $60,000,000 to develop and SONY conservatively expecting $300,000,000 to come in from it, and everyone knows that closer to $500,000,000 is a very real possibility, that fart doesn't even have to be audible for things to change drastically.
