If anyone does have a final build of the game, they would be under an NDA and so they would not be allowed to talk about it.

Sure they wouldn't be allowed... But they would do it.

There's always someone...

No, these are professionals they are inviting. Sony isn't just letting random nobodies and blog writers play the game. This is a common practice in the game industry. Developers and publishers do this all the time. They invite members of the press to come in behind closed doors and play their game and you never hear about it until much later.

Hey Guys i posted this in the sema thread cause the info came from there but i think this is a more approriate thread

I think i may have found GREAT news, i just emailed the mods so they can post it, but i found 2 articles discussing a new release date and i conformed it by going to the Sony Store and sure enough Nov 30th is the new release date Kaz supposedly confirmed it. its not an official release from Sony but the fact that Kaz said it and Its on the Sony store site make me really confident. here are the 2 news article links

and

and here it is on theSony site

i hope it all checks out !!!!!!!!!!:dunce::):dunce::):dunce:

Exactly. The people playing it would be like IGN.com, Official PlayStation Magazine, Gamespy, etc.

Maybe your'e right... but I've never seen a release of a game which details were so secret and unknown so close to (an obvious) release.

When we finaly get our hands on GT5 this forum will be a lot quieter LOL

Regardless of is it gold or not, is it being pressed or not, have review copies gone out or not, Sony's PR will be denieing everything until the point comes that such an anouncement (ie release date) will cause the biggest impact to the general public. Just the on comment at a car show from kaz "it's being pressed as we speak" has sent GT planet into a spin, which in turn saw every major gaming site on the internet post up the story.........what happens when Sony hold a press confrence to confirm a release date, along with a man holding up a gold disc or better yet a retail disc..........Boooooom
And thats the point! they want as much exposure for the game as possible, the fans on here bemoaning a lack of info falls very short in terms of putting preasure on the PR guys to spill the beans. Expect a christmas release, that much we've been told, PR exercises have continued to ramp up at car and game shows around the world, as have the increase in images and info coming from PD and Sony. When the anouncement comes (in the next week or so) it'll be plastered everywhere, until then calm down, nothing you say on here will change the PR teams release anouncement plans.

In fact it's not beyond belife this last delay....we missed going gold by 3 days....wasn't planned to get us whiped into a final frenzy LOL

Wasn't it allways the case on GTPlanet, unconfirmed release dates were jumped on and stuck in a seperate thread for the posters to be named and shamed........seemes every other page has them now LOL

In the case of IGN, before the PS Move came out, they posted a video showing the press kit and whatnot, but said they couldn't post the review untill a couple of days before release.

So I wonder if they will let us know when they have their copy, even if they can't post their review yet.

I guess Sony has to announce release date before any marketing can start.

I'm also waiting for the Kevin Butler commercial....Gran Furismo Jive baby! :sly:

Press kit information is usually always allowed to be posted on the internet as soon as journalists get that information in their e-mail inbox. Usually they will get a screenname/password to an FTP server that they connect to and they can download a .zip file with everything they need. They usually include logos, screenshots, videos etc.

I know Sony updated their GT5 press kit this morning, but all that was in it was the front cover artwork for the American release of the game. Nothing we haven't already seen, so it was a weird update.

There is absolutely no confirmation of anything in any of those blog posts.

Just so you know, you linked to your sonystyle shopping cart. Anyone who clicks your link will discover what an empty cart at sonystyle.com looks like.

Got an e-mail from Amazon tonight..

Hello, We regret to inform you that the following items have been delayed as we are still awaiting stock from our suppliers : "Gran Turismo 5: Collector's Edition (PS3)"Estimated arrival date: December 17 2010 One of Amazon's aims is to provide a convenient and efficient service; in this case, we have fallen short. Please accept our sincere apologies

My guess? Possibly they are pushing for a Nov 30th release date and are sure they can come within a few days of it but are having trouble coordinating exactly what day different regions will be ready to release and don't want to announce a release date for one region if they can't announce it for all regions.

That's just my wild 🤬 guess.

This is quite hilarious I think, but sad at the same time. From the "Guess when GT5 is released" thread, check out how many expected it to be released in 2008.

What possible benefit can there be for Sony to keep everyone in the dark as they seem to be doing. None that I can see. This simple premise doesn't bode well unless Sony makes the announcement VERY soon

I think this is more an issue of faulty managment than anything else. I mean Sony's a big company, and GT5 isn't their only area of concentration, which to us I guess is hard to believe. Quite frankly, if this Nov. 30 date gets confirmed I'd be really impressed by Sony's reaction time to the whole "3 day window **** up" deal. I would've expected a much later release date.

Nice find, Strittan.

And seriously...all of these Amazon and GameStop dates are placeholders. Get a grip!

When there's a legit date it will be right in your face in the news section of this site, and well any other site associated with Sony or GT in general probably.

If it went to production 3 days late I would hope I could get the game 3 days late. But I keep hearing December 21. That's 7 weeks late. Please release the game. Pretty please.
