Another peace keeper (if not already posted) http://www.siliconera.com/2010/11/04/peter-dille-talks-playstation-move-success-and-psp-plans/

as he says GT5 is still on before Xmas

What about Gran Turismo 5 is it still on track for this year?

Yeah, Kazunori came out with a comment that they are working on a few last things. He apologized to the community, but explained it is coming before Christmas. We haven’t put a date to that yet, but we will just as soon as we get word from him when he’s done.

something is still ongoing then?!:scared:

I've waited this long, another couple weeks isn't gonna kill me.

I'm replaying Baldur's Gate for the first time in a decade to kill the time, and the ski resorts open in a few weeks, too... enough to keep me distracted until GT5 comes out!

Well apparently the game will not even be out till next year sometime....maybe LOL. It's an absolute joke how long this game has taken, it's not that special that it should even take this long.

EDITED: No need to offend anyone.

There is no way for this game to live up to this hype, its just a racing sim. Some cars on a track. From one game to the next, none of these GT games change very much, so I have a feeling it took this long due to development issues with the PS3.

Not bothering to go through so many pages of threads.... but I am not really bothered whether GT5 is before xmas or not. I remember a couple of years ago being frustrated that BP was to be launched in January, but bearing in mind all the other games to play that were released for xmas, I actually thought January was a good call.

As to GT5 itself, clearly, as usual, Sony have not got a clue. There have been no date specific statements only generalisations - when are people going to realise that ?

I am guessing that GT5 is in manufacturing but is now scrambling for production slots and at some point Sony will have to make a call... do they have enough stock to ship to send it to No1 in the games charts or just delay so that they can maximise the first weeks shipping sales ?

Either way, there are other games to play and as much as I am looking forward to GT5 I am not losing any sleep over it.

I hadn't really noticed before, but there is not even one good game released before the holiday... There are almost no games at all released in December! GT5 is going to dominate (if it's released)!

Well, there's a reason for that. Any publisher with half a brain releases their games before the holiday season starts to take full advantage of Christmas shoppers. The one exception is WoW: Cataclysm, but I'm guessing that's just Activision trying to avoid cannibalizing Black Ops and vice versa.

This is why these mid-December dates sound fishy to me. It never happens. December 17 at the absolute latest. I wish Sony would hurry the hell up and announce it!

I got the same e-mail from Amazon about the 17th December. TBH I'm taking that with a heap of salt. Until Sony/PD tell us the release date no one else is going to know.

I'm not that fussed if it's out before or after Christmas, but I would kind of prefer before. That way it gives me something to play over the Christmas break.

Yeah, I also got the same email from Amazon about December 17th.
Anyway, really amateur behaviour from Sony and Polyphony Digital as far as the release date announcement goes. Hopefully, it'll be released this side of Crimbo.

i still don't understand the need for all this secrecy. i've never been so uninformed about a videogame in my life.....no track list, no car list, no options/tuning options info.....what the heck? :(

I recieved the 17th Dec 2010 date also.

However don't you think it's strange that the date appeared on the 5th Nov, the day that you should have recieved the game.

Placeholder I think but I could be wrong.

Like I said ^

Yes, It's a Sony retail site, and likely to be a placeholder. But they haven't been told to wind their neck in by Corporate (yet)

As I have said, generalisations no specifics.

'On or around' is not specific so it is totally meaningless. When are you all going to get it ? Until Sony/Polyphony give a single specific date for your area ignore everything from everywhere.

With every day that passes it looks like this game really will slip into 2011. Just because Kaz said it was being stamped doesn't make it true. They'll announce another date, and fans will get all excited again, forgetting that we've been misled so many times in the past.

I learned a long time ago, not to worry about things that I have no control over :)

I was never much into PC games although I dabbled with them many years ago. I recently bought a new ASUS laptop, mostly to edit HD video but since it was designed around the high demands of gaming, just for grins and giggles I loaded in a 7 year old (to my best memory) copy of GTR2, hooked it up to my 52 inch Sammy with an HDMI and voila ! It runs smoother with everyting set to maximum (50 cars visible on track at one time) then it ever did with everything set to minimum. I raced a 2 hour compressed 24 hour race at Spa the other night ... saw the sun set, dusk, the stars come out, the moon come out, the moon track slowly across the sky, pre-dawn, dawn, and low, in your eyes, morning sun. Needless to say, the race ended with a big grin on my face :) The next morning, I ordered GTR Evolution and Race 07, both delivered to my door for $31.

May I suggest that instead of fretting about a release or no release, we invest our energy in something that we can actually do something about :)

I'm not suggesting that everyone run out and buy gaming laptops, but rather find a way to entertain ones self until Sony removes their cranium from their rectal cavity.

Just added this today .........

I'm thinking this may have something to do with CoD and Sony not wanting to steal it's thunder before it comes out. If that's the case, we may not be hearing a release date for a while...

Gran Turismo 5: Collector's Edition (PS3)"
Estimated arrival date: December 17 2010

Same also , hopefully this is it !! give or take a few days 👍

Why would they care, considering that they already know how much money they're gonna make from this game. Just happy Black Ops is coming out this Monday night!
