Stopped reading there. Have you ever heard of jalopnik before? Every game that goes gold has an official announcement about it. EVERY game. I have never seen a game go gold without a release date, with no OFFICIAL word from anyone about it, and I dont mean some random site noones ever heard about.

This is a very typical internet rumor. News articles are labeled that when there is no supporting proof from any credible source close to the developers or publishers, and none of those people have even mentioned anything about it going gold.

Yep, I've heard of Jalopnik before. As a regular commentor on Jalop, I can tell you that it is one of the best car blogs on the internet. Great content and contributors give it far more personality than sites like AutoBlog.

I too have heard of them as has pretty much everyone who has played Forza 3 for any period of time or read the Turn 10 blogs.

There should be an announcement sometime soon.

For me it needs to be earlier than late december. I won't be OK with late December. If it comes out next year, bye bye PS3. Even if it's January 1st I'll sell my PS3 on craigslist the moment I hear it's 2011. Not because I hate my PS3, because I can game with my friends on my 360. I can use that money to buy other games. Plus, I only have 2 PS3 games (Burnout: Paradise and LBP) and like 15 360 games.

Well sorry to post this again (already posted on the main GT5 thread), Amazon UK emailed about my CE preorder saying it's now estimated December 17th, which is a Friday. It's the first time they've given me a solid(ish) date since news of the delay.

P.S. you're phrasing "let's hope good things come to those who wait..." has inspired me to celebrate the day I finally receive my copy of GT5 with a pint or two of Guinness' finest, since that is their slogan after all! :P
 
Well apparently the game will not even be out till next year sometime....maybe LOL. It's an absolute joke how long this game has taken, it's not that special that it should even take this long. :confused:

One thing I've learned from other forums and here: The more attention you give to an idiotic post like the one above, the more work it is for mods to clean up the aftermath, which includes editing any quotes, etc. Best bet is to just report the post and get on with it. I'm tempted to let him hear it as well but it doesn't do any good because he's not going to be here long enough to let it sink in :)

And yes, like GasolineJunkie said, people are just getting a bit too upset. It sucks for all of us, and we're all in this wait together. Civility won't kill us, the wait likely will though.

The other day there was such good cheers on this site after the "gold" announcement. That seems to have subsided. Sony needs to medicate us ... ASAP.

Yes. Sister site to Gizmodo and Kotaku. I assume you've heard of at least one of those, and if you don't know the other you should check it out if you like gadgets.

Maybe kaz didn't want to make the announcement at SEMA because he didn't want that to take away from the winning car news story so he is waiting to get back to his PD HQ to organize the announcement. Or maybe I'm just grasping at straws for some more good news.

Today was suppose to be the great day here in the UK.

I should have been travelling to my nearest Game Store today to pick up my copy off Gran Turismo 5 :(

Ah well i shall just take my frustrations out on 1000's off Zombies instead :grumpy:

Report the nastiness, respond to the nastiness in a non-AUP violating way, but please don't quote the nastiness in order to do it, or if you must to make it clear who you're responding to, please remove the bits that you know are bad or censor them appropriately so that we only have to edit 1 post instead of many. :cheers:
 
Actually my order with Amazon was not just for the guide. The other part of the order was "refunded".

I just checked my order status. 1 day shipping estimate delivery of Dec 1st, free shipping.
