GT5 delayed

I put more money down on my Signature edition pre-order at my local GAME store (Australia). They were telling me that the reason for the delay was that there were framerate issues with the batch they'd copied so they all have to be tweaked and re-copied again. They said the framerate glitch was so bad that one couldn't even navigate the menus.

I know this is a lot of "he said" "she said" and I have no idea how they may have come across this information, but perhaps some more learned members have heard something similar? Ultimately it doesn't matter why GT5 has been delayed - it has, there's nothing anyone of us can do about it, and we all have to sit and wait a bit longer.

Has Amar said enything about the continual delays? He seems to be a link 'inside'....

That seems like a far fetched reason....

Tell me why you believe employees of a store that have absolutely nothing to do with the development of GT5. Do you know how good they feel about themselves right now. Their blasphemy is getting through to you. Jokes on you.

Majarvis why don't you take your negative attitude to another forum instead of trying to crap all over our good mood. Then once you grow up you can rejoin us.
The idea That the frame rate issue was so bad you couldn't even navigate the menu is unbelievable. Exactly how would they go about developing a game with that blatant of an issue and not catch it unless there was an error with the printing?

My attitude isn't negative, it just goes against everything you stand for, so you feel you must attack it. I'm a) intelligent enough to realize that stores and its employees do not know anything whatsoever about the release date and b) the only release date announcement that matters is the one from Sony. End of story. Understand?

I'm just as excited for this game as you all, but I'm not foolish or immature enough to think for a second to get my hopes up on rumours.

Why are you even talking to me about the ludicrous framerate issue rumour? Where did I even say anything about to support such a theory? I certainly don't recall it, nor do I believe it for a second. Perhaps you should make sure what you're reading first is accurate before you go on the offensive, because it makes you look like a fool.

I have no idea where on Earth some people are getting this news of a frame rate issue. You lot are certainly the first I've heard of it, and I haven't seen any official mention of it, or any mention from Jordan. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess it's another baseless rumour.

Like I said, enjoy your pointless game of believing minimum wage shop employees claiming they know the release date. I'm not stupid enough to get my hopes up or bother about them.

@Maj
I can't quote on my Droid. None of us, That I can tell, are taking these dates as confirmed release dates. Its all speculation but based on the change in date for the release party it sounds more solid than the other info we have. I don't see why you feel the need to talk down your nose at others for speculating.
The paragraph about framerate issues wasn't directed at you and yes, my point was that that rumor sounds like bunk.

It wasn't really a 2nd paragraph because there wasn't a line between the 2 sentences. :)

Everyone ... you need to drink! Crack open a beer, a bottle of wine, or some vodka. Anything so you can relax and not be so sensitive about every little thing people say here. It's like some people don warpaint before even opening gtplanet on their browsers.

Sheesh.

But yeah, no CONFIRMED DATE as of yet.

Gee, thanks for that mate.

I never said I believed it, but was merely passing on info I'd heard from a Game store. This thread is awash with all sorts of rumours, some less credible than others, therefore I thought I'd throw this in here for good measure.

Well, November 29 is my birthday, soooooo...............

Screw you Black Ops, you're a Christmas gift :P

It's full of that junk because people keep passing on bogus info they hear from stores. If you don't believe it, why bother listening to it, let alone posting it here to get other people to believe it too........

Yes, you can quote on a phone (iPhone at least), if you are NOT using the "Mobile" theme. There is a drop down at the bottom of the page you can switch to the full web view here at GTP. You'll all of the functions functions of the desktop version. That is, except you can't upload attachments to your posts.

Framerate: The kids at the game store might be thinking glitch is the drop from 60 to 30 when using 3D or when 16 cars are racing in the rain at night then it may drop out of 60.

The knucklhead at one of my GameStops thinks their placeholder date of 1/1/11 has become the street date! Sole reason being is they are the largest game retailer worldwide. And those 555.000 copies of GT5 on their way to France, those are for the GameStop stores.

Whatever

Everything they stand for? Are you sure you couldn't manage to be a little more melodramatic?

I'm a) intelligent enough to realize that stores and its employees do not know anything whatsoever about the release date and b) the only release date announcement that matters is the one from Sony. End of story. Understand?

I'm sure you're also intelligent enough to understand that retailers will have accurate release date information before Sony announce those dates to us. In some cases they'll get them directly from Sony through partner communications, in others from regional distributors. It's also likely that some of these retailers will have updated their dates based on that information before we get any announcement.

Of course, it's impossible for us to know which dates are based on real information and which are invented by the retailers, which makes them all irrelevant at the moment.

As for one of your earlier points: no, worthless information doesn't lead to anyone getting the game quicker. But neither does accurate, well-sourced information.

Accurate information makes it easier to set a date to wake up out of our induced coma's in order to play the game!

At the moment, we don't know what to do!

I can't. If I switch over from the mobile theme the buttons on the forum don't work most of the time for some reason. The manager at my local gamestop said it sounds like a late Nov., early Dec. release but he can't say for sure(as in, he isn't sure himself, not he's sworn to secrecy). The store might be getting that information from a reliable source or he could just be basing that off of all the rumors we're basing our guesses off of here.

Now that I can quote I'm going to tackle this one and be done with the matter.

First of all this is where you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Stores MAY not know the release date but they will know if before it's officially announced(most of them, at least). It's not like the people at Gamestop and Best Buy wake up one morning and see the release date posted for three weeks from now and then start planning their sales. They get word of it in advance(at least the higher ups usually do). So yes, some of these release dates we are seeing could just be random placeholders. Some of them MIGHT be stores adjusting their prior placeholders to a date that closer reflects what the actual release date will be. If you're intelligent enough to know something you can't possibly know is true or not then hopefully you're intelligent enough to understand this.

No, instead you are immature enough to make condescending remarks to others on the forum because they aren't so uptight they can't have a little fun playing guessing games. I'd take some light hearted, good-time immaturity over that any day of the week. Think us all simpletons if you want, someday you'll realize it's not fun to go through life with a chip on your shoulder.

Again, never pass up a chance to talk down your nose at another forum member. Had you taken the time to read through the page you would have seen that framerate issues are a current topic in this thread. Just because the first part of my thread was directed at you doesn't mean it all was. I didn't want to double post. I'm not going to accuse you of anything here other than a little irony in you insinuating that I am the fool. People make mistakes, especially simpletons like us that get excited over speculation. :dunce: It had been posted on various websites that one of the possible reasons for the delay was Kaz getting anal about the game dipping below 60fps at some points. Is there any truth in it? I don't know but this isn't the first I've heard of it.

Right, because here we all are claiming to know the release date because of what someone at Joe's Game Shack told us. Oh wait, no we don't. None of us claim to know the exact date. All we are discussing is the possibility that, given all the new evidence coming it, could we possibly have a good shot at seeing an early Dec. release date(you know, just about every major store setting their predicted release date around that time and the rescheduling of the launch day party). If the only release date related announcement that matters to you is the official announcement from Sony what are you doing in this thread to begin with? This is a thread that has been dedicated to release date speculation for the last five pages or more. Did you just come here to show us all how superior you are to us? Go write a book about it and stay out of threads you have no business being in if you are true to your word and don't care about any of this.

Accurate information makes it easier to set a date to wake up out of our induced coma's in order to play the game!

At the moment, we don't know what to do!

At least then I could ask off of work. Oh wait, I don't have to ask off of anything when my only paycheck is disability at the moment. :ouch:

I'm still saying the pre-launch party announcement is the biggest clue we have yet as to a release date, unless that announcement is bunk. I'd still put my money on Nov. 30th - Dec. 6th. Maybe I'm just a wishful thinker, though. With all these rumors of close release dates flying around, if it turns out to not be true Sony is going to have a lot of pissed off customers because of their failure to make an announcement and debunk these rumors.

A week before the Release Party, the game will be delayed for 2011. I hope not, but I won't be surprised.

why would they do that after shipping half a million discs to france.. they would have to sit in a store room for a considerable time , and chances of leaking risk become even greater...

And why go to all the bother of a release party if they have an idea that it wont release.. seems silly and waste of time to me

it will release this year.. ive no doubt

Because they're Sony/PD.
