An announcement tomorrow could make sense since Black Ops comes out tomorrow (well it does in the UK anyway), and I have suspected for a while that Sony are waiting for that to get out of the way before they announce any date. I have also just noticed that Zavvi website in the UK have suddenly changed the date to 3 December and HMV website says 1 December, though Amazon says nothing. Those dates definitely were not there at the weekend. So take your pick lol. Anyway, many people will have spent all their Xmas money by then (Hot Pursuit, CoD etc) so I think Sony may not get the numbers that they are hoping for. Having said I will probably still buy it the day of release lol

The 27th is a Saturday actually so that makes even less sense considering the article says it's "presumably for Black Friday"

Not credible at all.

Funny though how at this point we're getting more information from random people who have leaked copies than from Sony/PD themselves.

+1. I'd think Sony would want to release the game Nov. 26 rather than Nov. 27?

The exact date does not really matter now that we know that it is coming out before the end of the year. Get your wheels ready ;)

Forgive me for being dumb/stupid, but what do they (sony/pd) have to gain for not keeping us informed regards an official release date??. I just cannot figure out why they seem a little reluctant to keep their customers informed about that small piece of information. Yeah i know its GT5, and yes i know info has been drizzled out very slowly over the past months/years, but jeezz, enough already. If they know now (and at this stage you would assume they would) they why not tell us already?. Id assume they would need to tell the stores weeks in advance, so that they can get the shelves/displays ready and all that? If that is the case, then where the hell are the employees of those stores with the info we want and need so bad :sly:

That date for the U.S. can't be correct because that is a Friday. Games never release on that date and pre-orders from online retailers won't get the game on friday because it is a holiday the day before. Nothing is going to ship out that day.

The 23rd or 30th is a more likely date.
the 27th is actually a Saturday not Friday. I do agree however with the 23rd or 30th being the more likely dates

since we are getting naaaathing from official sources, yes.

Like most here - I can *perhaps* tolerate a 2 week wait for release 👍

Any longer and that's at least 3 weeks some individuals would've been playing gt5 before they should or indeed deserve to! :banghead:

Agreed. Sony keeping quiet is just causing confusion, i cant see how that can be a positive thing came release date. If what we are hearing is true the game could be on the shelves in 2-3 weeks. I think its about time the retailers know the release date.

The anticipation is killing me! If Sony doesn't announce the release date tomorrow in NYC they may have a riot on their hands.

Its funny you say that because its been noticed in work that im a cranky piece of work lately. I just told them (management) you have Sony to blame. You should of saw the confused/weird looks i got :sly:

I really think Sony/PD need some serious competition regards racing games on the PS3. If there is anything close to it, ive never seen or heard anything.

Seriously, they know they have us by the short n curlies. They could release this game in years from now, and we would still go happily on our way, spending our hard earned cash, to get the game. All forgetting how we were treated whilst the games were delayed. All it would take is for them to give us a date, or anything for that matter. Rather than the silence we get.

If they had some competition though, maybe they would get things organised in a much more efficient manor. Nowadays im starting to think they really dont care about delaying GT games because they know that they have the "loyal" racing fans by the nads.

Just my thoughts.

I would have to guess that Sony/PD want to steal some of COD's limelight tomorrow by going global with a release date. It kinda makes sense the whole industry will be in the news due to COD's arrival so would be a nice chunk of advertising for them.

Yeah, well said. I only bought the PS3 for GT5 in March 2008, but I would seriously consider an Xbox next time after this experience. You can delay people once or twice and they will accept it but this is too far; it seems a lot of people here suffer from severe Stockholm Syndrome, but anyone with a bit of self-respect will at least reconsider the purchase of GT6.

Yes we can confirm the Gran Turismo 5 release date is officially Nov 27! We've been assured no more delays! #GT5

IGN UK

I just saw that, I pray it hit's here as well (North America) on the same day or maybe before :P

Is it weird that day is a Saturday?

This isn't unprecedented...Nintendo has done this before for major releases (which makes sense, why would you release your massive game at the beginning of the work week?!
