One year of superb gaming later, I am still playing GT5.

Here is to year two.

same here. Online is addictive. I almost forgot to complete the new b-spec seasonals because I've been racing online.

Many thanks to PD for their continued support for this game. I can't wait to see what's in store next!

It´s his opinion, no problem. Not everybody on this planet have to love GT5 :)

But yeah, wrong thread.

As the old saying goes, "opinions are like arseholes, everyones got one, some just smell a lot worse than others and are best kept to themselves".

What the hell are you smelling arseholes for. Jeez

happy bday gt5!!! so.....does gt5 give itself a bday ticket?

You my friend, are a fail.

Just a dissapointing fail. Why the hell are you even on GTPlanet if you hate Gran Turismo.

:dunce:
I've been a fan of GT since I played the 1st one. If I have issues with Gt5, that dosen't mean I suddenly hate the whole series.

And that doesn't make you any less of a fail, in this thread.

Wow, seems one negative post can de-rail the entire GT5 first Anniversary thread. I wonder why you guys are acting so touchy and defensive?
Truth stings a little methinks.

Sry, I'll bite my tongue from here on in :)
Good to see so many positive responses to the game, regardless of my own POV.

You've all chosen to ignore my follow up post, and you know what? after all the stupid flaming I take it back. Not one bit sry :yuck:
Quite sad that one negative post seems to be enough to de-rail the entire
Gt5 first Anniversary! thread.
Why so insecure PD Defense force? hmmm, I wonder.

MIdnight Club LA Lasted 2 weeks. GT2 has lasted 12 years. GT3 lasted 10 years, GT4 lasted 6 years and GT5 lasted since February.
Yes, I still play GT2.

only game in GT series that is still in my ps3 after a year. Not gt1 or even gt3 managed to do that.

It's hard to take someone seriously when they are complaining about stuff like leaderboards and AI.

Screen tearing, i give you that but it's so minor i hardly notice it.

Yes, I still play GT2.

I play all of those, plus GT1. That's lasted some 14 years now - the same as me.

Although MCLA is still fun at times for me so meh :sly:

But anyway, how has it been a year since this came out anyway?!

I personally loved GT5 in general and played it quite a lot the first few months. I was dissappointed that El Capitan, Seattle and Motegi were not in the game and very dissappointed that there were/are no leaderboards to allow us to compare our times in our favortie rides to those of everyone else on each track. We thought we would be getting them within the first 2-3 months, I had saw Kaz mention that they were in the works but all we have so far is the time trial and drift trial boards so most of my friends quit playing and went to the other game.

If they would give us proper leaderboards I know a bunch of people who would be back playing everyday and buying DLC content.

After one year, here's your common sense review from CorvetteConquer:

GOOD Gran Turismo 5:tup:: Many free updates. That’s awesome, as it shows PD is heavily invested in the game. 2.0 was a great addition. I look forward to GT6 because they've shown with GT5, a very incomplete game at launch, can become much improved in time. We've got great people working on this series.

BAD Gran Turismo 5:tdown:: Laughable DLC. Only 2 new tracks. 0 classic tracks added. While SPA is a real world legend, the space kart layouts seem….out of place almost. Secondly, new street cars with their own unique personalities should have been added to the game. NOT 15 race mods of already existing car models. I question PD's + KY's strategy.

Now, let's begin year two.

👍 👍 👍

Those are my Top 3 tracks!

I forgot to post in this thing thanks to the fracas over our Thanksgiving holidays, but it was a fun fracas, thank heaven. This is actually my personal one year anniversary since I waited a few days to get a PS3 Slim to fire up GT5, in case it fired up my fatty. ;)

Anyhow, I know this is still a work in progress, there are things I'd love to see patched in too, but I honestly don't care that much. I can wait. This game is simply magical, if you take the time to race the cars on all the tracks, and let its essence come forth. Every car has its own personality, and on those tracks with weather and time of day transitions, especially the Nurburgring, those personalities speak volumes.

I've got games that will have to wait a bit longer for me to open up and get to. I still have several hundred cars to get acquainted with. :D

Simply put, this game is on another level, and as it continues to grow, it's going to get even better. The wait for GT6 won't be very long at all. A few more posts, and then I race my brains out for the rest of the day.
