Yea, and I don't know how long its taking everyone else to download it, but I'm looking at about an hour and half. I'm guessing their servers are taxed right now.

It happens again at 2:33

I hope the "reset to track" option is optional. Damage etc. needs to have some consequences to be interesting.

Not going to happen, the cars will always right themselves up, manufacturers restrictions

Proof? I think you might be right, but prove it.

We do not know if they use Standard physics or PRO physics. or if the Damage is off and turnover is reset.

You have now tested an information gathering ninja...

GTP detectives are working right now trying to spot new cars. There's a lot of new footage, too.

The Qore discussion happened a few pages back. I watched it and saw nothing new.
They showed photos of them taking pictures of a few american cars that seemed unfamiliar to me but that's it. It's mostly footage from months ago even years ago.

Japanese TV shows, mate, Japanese shows... :dunce:

I'm familiar with modern Japanese culture (I used to watch Takeshi's Castle and Monkey Magic religiously) but those hats were weird, even for them. I'm thinking the shape has some sort of cultural significance.

Don't need to, it was said in an interview/article, can't remeber

I'm not going on a hunt either, but I do remember that Chris H-M said it in an interview at E3.

Just came back from playing the demo in Toronto. Unfortunately it is an old build with no skid marks. The physics were great in Toscana which is the only track I got to play. It took me an hour just to play the game waiting in line. Everyone before me kept on playing at Rome since they had no clue how to change the track. I then changed to Toscana and saw the Day-night transition and people were going mad seeing that. By far, GT5 was the most popular game there.
Sorry I can't provide any Photos or Videos but you won't have to wait too long to play the game yourself now

I know that Car companies dont want the cars to be rolled over, or anything, but in FM3 you can, why not in GT5.. unless GT5 claims to be a true simulator? because no car company wants a true simulator to the public. Then the public will see how some cars are unsafe to drive.

Anes could the hats be the pshome sign but green?

Also nice to see new videos, the rollover was ok and in this case the auto rollback is ok as the 500's top is round.....i'm joking. It will be a nice addiction at least lose precious seconds.

HA!, I only had to search for my old posts, as I knew I had had posted it before in this thread :)

For example, I finally got some hands-on time with Gran Turismo 5, and while the controls were set up in a very arcade-like fashion that kept me from getting a feel for the game’s physics—which are purportedly more advanced than those of any game to come before—I did get to see GT5’s new damage system in full effect.

For the first time in a Gran Turismo game cars can become extensively damaged, with fenders, doors, and hoods crumpling and falling off. They can even roll over, though, due to manufacturer concerns about consumers seeing their coveted rides lying impotent on their roofs, they automatically right themselves.
Interestingly, the Polyphony Digital delegate who led me through the demo said that the only reason crash damage exists in the game is because of mountains of requests they’ve received from American gamers. The vast majority of content requests they get from European and Asian players is for more authentic cars and tracks. Only Americans, it seems, are fixated on busting up their virtual vehicles.

He also added that, according to their research, most players who want to see realistic damage—including issues that affects performance and handling—end up turning it off after just a few races. “They say, man, that’s cool, then switch it off because it makes the game too hard.”

Seems like a lot of work for a feature that ends up being used by so few people.

However, that Polyphony Digital would put such effort into something they know will be used by a niche group is likely an indication of their determination to make Gran Turismo 5 the most full-featured and authentic racing simulator to date.

My interest in this franchise, which, after the release of the disappointing Gran Turismo for PlayStation Portable, had been flagging, is officially rekindled.

Fiat on Top gear track, in the wet :)
BTW if PD use this view for the "bonnet cam" that would be cool....

it's not possible to roll a Fiat in the wet..... it's just not possible.... the tyres don't grip enough.... the worst thing that'll happen is that you will just spin out.... don't worry, it's perfectly safe.... you cannot roll a car like this..... it won't happen..... you CANNOT roll a car in the wet.... don't worry it'll be fine.... whoops....

Why do members have ALWAYS to prove sth., even if it is extremely likely what they claim, and if even not, why not take it as an opinion? Jeez...

Clearly we need a thread with the collected text and links to all interviews. Seems a bit late, but should come in handy for our GT6 speculation.

What the 🤬!!!

@ Nish_280z, I don't think so, it's more angled and layered.

I said I was joking right afterwards : )

I was talking about the PS Home logo 👍

Not sure if this Trial Mountain video has been posted or not...I can't remember since I've seen so many in the past few weeks.

Almost 2 full laps in a Citroen GT Race car:

Yeah that's been posted a while back. The Citroen GT race car cockpit is like being in control of a fighter jet, imagine taking it down a long straight in the night.

It'll be the most terrifying thing ever.. That is one seriously small viewing area.

During the Qore GT5 feature , between NASCAR and Shelby 427 Cobra pictures , there is one picture of a Shelby Cobra GT coupe being photographed by P.D.

Anybody knows what's the next stop of the news-train?

Lolz, ah the sarcasme! People seriously you have to be less "negative", but I admit it was funny.

👍

People are too tough here.

EDIT

If someone is interested in what the girl from the rollover video was talking about, I asked my father for the translation. XD. These are the "highlights":

She says she doesn't have a driver's license. As she doesn't have "practice/training", she chose the slowest car available. And then she says the game is so realistic that makes us want to get a driver's license. After the second rollover, the instructor, who seems to be a PD employee, says that she couldn't enter that curve with that car at that speed (he already knew that car would roll over).
