WHy would they be adding anything?

Oh I dont know maybe its the hoardes of GTPlaneteers howling and moaning about such features and content, maybe a new car was being modelled and was no ready in time, maybe theyre adding some course maker scenery, in any case, YOU dont have more of an idea than anyone and you certainly dont have sources to prove or disprove anything.:ouch:

Actually, this isn't all bad. I want to move before December, and GT5 might be too big a distraction for that goal. Anyways, see you guys in December...or whenever.

Really? I'm betting that it's all Ben Collins' fault. Ben Collins jumped ship with his ill-advised autobiography, which has forced the BBC to find an alternative. If the BBC are rebranding the Stig, GT5's Stig-heavy content would be out-of-date before it even hit the shelves.

[Kim Jong-Il] Screw you, Ben Corrins [/Kim Jong-Il]

Exactly what I thought! I'm betting with you!

It's a shame, I was so hype:yuck:

You know, I'm shocked. And I'm not.

I'm surprised that they would delay the game (yet again). At this point, I'm guessing it's a matter of PD losing face, in a big way. And possibly losing a lot of money on holiday sales as a result. I'm sure Sony isn't pleased. And that's putting it mildly.

But in retrospect, one thing always struck me a bit odd. We had 3 major shows over the last few months: E3, Gamescom and TGS. I can understand at E3 that they may have still had a lot of work to do. But by Gamescom and certainly by TGS, the game should have been all but completed--especially after so many years of development. And it should have been just a matter of intense testing and working the bugs out. But all we kept seeing was build after build with a few improvements here or there. But no one build that seemed to have truly everything together and in place.
I didn't really question this at the time, because PD is a very secretive company and I figured they're probably just very conservative about what they release and what they're willing to show until the game has gone GM. But now in retrospect, I'm guessing the lack of a (nearly) finished product on display at TGS could very likely have been a clear sign of trouble, that they weren't going to make their deadlines. And I really didn't pick up on it.

If it was just a simple production or distribution issue, I think Sony would have put a number on the delay--1 week, 2 weeks, etc. But to leave it open, smells of desperation.

I suspect that there's been some harsh words between Sony and PD in the last few days. It wouldn't surprised me to learn that PD told Sony they need a few more months and Sony told them they MUST release the game before the end of the year, no matter what. I'm guessing the folks at PD will now be working 24/7 for the next few months. It's probably not a pretty scene there right now.

You really hit the nail in the head here. That´s exactly what i was thinking. This was just too strange, no hype at all with three weeks left to release, all the game shows kept showing desintegrated bits of the game.

We´ve only seen bits of GT5, we never saw them working togheter on a final build. I guess when they finally put everything togheter, it just didn´t work. Let´s hope the game still ships in 2010, but at this point, i´m not so sure.

I don´t think a major bug can be fixed this quickly, and whatever Sony says at this point is irrelevant, because it´s clear that not even PD knows how long it will take to fix it. Game was rated on several boards, so it wasn´t about content, it was a tech issue.

If this does not release this year i'm taking my money off my GT pre order and buying something else, i'm not waiting another 6 months after waiting 2 years from prologue.

Gt5 delayed again (with no new release date) yeah it says this holiday season but they have changed the release twice so that means nothing.
Microsoft and Forza's developers will be Rolling on the floor with laughter.

if it would be possible for sony .. they would also move christmas!!! :scared: :dopey: :D

I laugh about it .. but actually I should cry about this news!!

@Blitz187
Since there is already a thread dedicated to the delay, can you post your thoughts and impressions in this thread instead?

[thinking out loud mode] I wonder... what are the chances of this game being cancelled and never released?... [/thinking out loud mode]

"Soony... I am dissapoint."(c)
At least, people will now believe that Sony Russia exists and they know some s*it.
Europe, USA, Japan, Australia (sic!) - I'm really sorry that it had touched you too. I was hoping for the best 'til the last second.
This is such a major screw-up for SCE, that Miranda and whatever (the producers) dudes should get their ass kicked for such ignorance and keeping silence to fans.
I'm almost 100% sure this is because of marketing issues.

I just hope this means that Sony will decide to do a global release worldwide on the same date, instead of the region disparity they had going on for November.

The United Nations Security Council has just passed a resolution demanding that Sony removes all UN member national flags from GT5, failing which, US forces will invade Japan by the end of the week.

Just kidding. I made this up.

 now it is understandable why they move the release date :)

So is there still going to be tursimo tuesdays?

There's no real reason for them to not have it still. They probably have all the videos now so it's just a matter of uploading them.

Fans are still feeling the sting from Gran Turismo 5’s postponed November release date, but we won’t have to wait too much longer according to this tweet by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe:

Yes, the GT5 European has also been delayed, we are sorry to say only to bring better news. We would like to confirm confirm a new release date for the last week of October.

That's how I read the news at first until I finally snapped back into my senses

But what if they run out of footage! there's no telling man!!!!!!!:scared:

Maybe they'll announce the new date at the launch party. Although to still have a launch party would be a little preposterous.

Guys, look at my cat's face when I told him GT5 was delayed!

dude do not shock ur cat anymore!! you will kill them :D

I'm thinking to boycott GT5, seriusly. They are fooling me, They are fooling all of us... and this is very incorrect. I know, is only a game, but business isn't a game, professionalism isn't a game. I sell car, and when I do my work the costumer expect reliability a accuracy about time and promises, and if I don't keep the promises I have to pay penalties. This, in my opinion is a deception, in all senses, a handfull of false promises and lies. That's all.

Damn this is serious! The planet is angry, I hope you guys feel better maybe it might release late November. I will wait and see before I start going off on the forums. It is interesting to see people character in this thread though. 👍
