Should do wonders for Forza and X-Box sales 👍

At this point I'm kind of hoping GT loses sales to FM, even though I LOATHE FM, but PD and Sony need a kick in the pants to realize they're only hurting themselves. It's almost as if they're trying to kill off the GT series

Just because GT got delayed does not make the X-Box more reliable nor does it make FM3 a better game so I do not see it helping Microsoft in any way! What would help them is to develope a better system and a better racing game period.

VERY strong GT4 feeling. Plain graphics, same sky, same sounds, same brick like colissions... after 5 years of development :scared:

:dunce:

Well xbox and Forza 3 sales will go up because at the moment Forza 3 is the most up to date platform racing game and I sold my PS3 because I was tired of waiting and recently got Forza 3 and it is very good not as fantastic as GT games but it still does what it says on the tin.

Sure but when/if GT5 is released please tell me that you will sell that POS and come back to where any car enthusiast should be. You are what I refer to as a fair weather fan, meaning as long as things are goin well you stick behind your team but at the first sign of trouble you start cheering for the other team.

Jeez...PD/Sony are receiving some hugely negative reactions with this delay topic. Even on VirtualR people are bashing PD/Sony for this. Look at this post for example:

"There was a point where this stopped being funny, and we passed it around a year ago. I’m never getting Polyphony to build my goddam nuclear bunker – The fallout would have come and gone by the time they’d announced they’d completed the door handle.":lol::lol:.

I'm sure they'll make more anouncements either today or at Brussels motorshow stand, or whenever/wherever the next gameshow or motorshow that GT will attend. If Sony thought the delay would do good to sales, the reactions to today's 🤬 may prove them wrong

but even if they launch the game in 2011, we are still going to buy it.. right? so i don't think this will harm their sales much

You and me, and all die-hard GT fans will buy it, but casual gamers? People who think "Oh it's a cool game, but waiting even more just sucks I'm gonna buy the next Burnout or NFS instead" aren't going to buy it just because it's GT.

haha nope I am inpatient and the most developed game I think at the time will get my money. Just to reassure you I will be getting a PS3 when..... GT5 is released in the UK and a G25 and seat to go with it. Forza and GT are two different things, Forza is just a bit to casual and you could probably be drunk and still get a top time but is still fun as little effort ends in ig reward where as GT5 is the s*it the pinacle of game racing and it will definitely get my money in the end because it is so amazing in too many ways for me to be bothered to list tonight.

He or anyone else can play whatever they want to. It's their money & if it brings them enjoyment, leave them be.

So get off your high horse, & stick a sock in it you pompous GT Elite.

Right on man!👍

@ McLaren: Wow! I never told him not to play crappy games, I only encouraged him to play quality ones. Perhaps it is you that should get off your high horse there fella.

Sony/Polyphony Digital supporters are like a politician's press secretary...sychophantic apologists.
I'm really not talking about the above quote in particular, there's been others which have been very similar and I apologise to cpp214 in advance for quoting his but it was the last one I read.

I really don't understand why anybody on here would be supporting or condemning either Sony or Polyphony Digital, it's a game and it's been delayed. Nobody on here knows why the Japanese version has been delayed and it's not really any of our business to know why.

The only people who are required to have details are the company involved and investors in that company. Nobody else.

Let's try and put it into perspective here. It's not as if we've all been betrayed by our governments today or something, an entertainment product has been delayed in Japan. That's the complete story.

Although I've not been a member here for that long I suppose, I have been reading the forum for longer than I can remember and I'm a little shocked to see the way just a few people have reacted to this announcement which in reality shouldn't be taking up any time in people's lives.

I'd imagine that most, if not all people on here really enjoy the franchise, I certainly do and have done for many years and I would really love to be playing the finished game already but I have far more important things to do than complaining about something like this.

Sony do not owe me this game in any way at all and they will sell it when they are able to and want to sell it, at that time I'll choose to buy it or not*. For me, I love the fact that people are so passionate about this franchise but it's a shame to see that passion used negatively against people who are equally passionate about the series.

I used to love the passionate discussions that happen on here but so many threads now seem to consist of people just ignoring the good stuff and just wanting to criticise everything bad that's happening in Gran Turismo.

Anyway, I've shut up now which I'm sure you're all really grateful for!!

*OK I admit it, the decision has almost definitely been made already unless something goes horribly wrong before release!

Just got to say, if you have not owned an Xbox 360 or Forza 3 and experience it you cannot call it a POS as it would be slightly insulting. You know you cant judge a book by its cover and all that. I have owned both and the PS3 is the superior console but you cant be inclined just to say Xbox 360 is a POS because you do not own one and for you information Forza 3 is not crappy just because you have not had the chance to play it.

I actually have owned one and after 3 short months it got that red circle of death thing and promptly got given away at a yard sale my wife and I had. As for FM3 I only played a in store demo for about half of an hour and disliked it very much, but thats just me.

No, you implied the Xbox was a POS & then labeled him as a person who runs away when the going gets rough.

You are nobody in my eyes to label people as such things. We don't have to all play GT over Forza. FM3 is a quality game in its own right & until GT is released, it's one of the next best options.

When this PERFECT game comes out?
i dont believe anybody and anything anymore.
What was boxart issue?

It also hasn't been out as long as GT5P so that's not a fair comparison.

Nor was it a fair comparison to put Forza sales up against GT5 which is not released yet. By the time GT5 does come out the pre-order sales will probably be greater than Forza's total sales.

Someone else said that.:sly:

I also can't argue with your second point.

However at the same time from GT5P's release you'll find that it had sold one milion more copies, thats a fair comparison, right? A demo selling one million more copies than a full game in the same time scale? Also, whats kinda funny is how obviously VGchartz skews their numbers according to which console they prefer. If you look on the official websites, Forza 3 has just passed 2 million (just) and GT5P has just passed 4.75m On VGchartz forza 3 is listed as 2.3 million (thats 300,000 copies in a week, considering it sold 75,000 the previous week) and GT5P is listed as 3.3m. Is that bias or is that just bias and a poor website?
