It was also just a demo, which was made very clear to the general public. This was also the case with the last GT prologue. This sold 2.5 million, whereas the full game sold 13 million. Can you see the correlation?

However at the same time from GT5P's release you'll find that it had sold one milion more copies, thats a fair comparison, right? A demo selling one million more copies than a full game in the same time scale?

The fact that the 360 has a much, much, much larger install base than the ps3, makes it even more impressive.

Bingo. Well to be fair, HAD a much larger install base. The gap now (considering the 360 had a year headstart in which it sold 8.5m) is at 4.5m.

In addition the PS2's install base was around the same as the ps3's when the last GT was released. considering that install base bought 2.5m copies of the prologue and 13m of the full game. What does that mean now that GT5P has sold 4.75m? I mean I won't get too ahead of myself but I fully expect halo 3-esque sales of ~10m or more. Not that it would make the game any more/less enjoyable. Sales /=/ quality. As seen with, coincidentally, Halo 3, MW2, susan-freakin'-boyle...

I don't know why people alwys have to argue about this 2 games , I own a PS3 and a 360. Just finished playing Forza 3, played some BestMotoring :D on Tskuba. Had some battles between japanese Tuners and some battles between the Murciélago SV and Nissan GT-R Spec-V. It's alot of fun. Can't complain I'm pretty fine with it until GT5.

Until GT5 but then will you go back?

I doubt that

I think until GT5 is out , I played the **** out of Forza 3 that I can't see it anymore :p GT5 is what I'm waiting for . But Forza 3 is good and fits the time perfect until I can play GT5. Can take alot of Porsches to the Nordschleife or play some BestMotoring or have fun online.

If I wouldn't have Forza 3 now I'd be damn bored without any good Sim on console. :sly:

Depends. A lot of people liked the custom liveries, & extensive tuning options, so they went back with FM2. However, many people liked GT4's graphics & cars, so they stuck with it.

Depends what people want & if GT/FM offer that.

that girl was doing really well until some yellow car appeared to have bashed into her. Then she didn't know how to reverse.

She was going really slow, yellow FT-86 caught up quickly as she was moving slowly to the right, the yellow car went left to pass and she suddenly woke up and pulled left hard the same time causing the collision.

ohh right.. I missed that. ah well, it's still good to see there's some women out there showing interest in Gran Turismo :) 👍

Just a question, just a segway away from that frustrating dealy news. What if in online mode that there will be crazy gamers who are deliberately sabotaging the racing by bumping any cars or just doing things crazy just to inflict damage, what will happen?

Not gonna happen.

Have you played Prologue online? Invisible cars FTW.

Thanks. By the way is it really hard to create trees that don't look like card board cut outs? I'm not looking for moving trees or leaves, i just want too see that it looks solid or 3D. i think it is just simple texturing. I just want too see that it don't look like cardboard boxes but looking solid.

Platform games , rpg, or even low budget games can do trees that look solid with 3D perspective.

well, there will be cars in pink and the volkwagen beetle for womens taste :sly:

By the way Actually I'm looking for a racing game with a story mode. That is not done yet, maybe Initial D but a full story mode like a RPG or you will follow a career of an upstart driver who wants to prove something to her family, or to his/her love or wants to be famous. Or he is driving to help or win someones heart, etc.

if they did it, the cars would not look sexy anymore. Which for a car game is out of the question!
Wait till the PS4 for that...

Running at 60 fps 1080p with 16 400k polygon cars, detailed track texture and not much power is left. 3D trees are very consuming. On this one I understand it's too much for this console.

Hey its not that hard to add at least some better textures, im not asking for moving trees or with physics, just make them more presentable. Looking more solid and with 3D perspective not card board cut outs

Would you really see a big difference when playing GT5 on a 720p screen instead of a 1080p. Otherwise i'm switching my 32" 720p screen with my parents' 37" 1080p screen! ;)

There's no guarantee GT5 online will be the same as Prologue by turning off collision detection on cars. Damage really should play a part in ensuring cars get kicked out of races.

We won't see full on 3D trees in GT before the PS4. Everyone might as well just drop this subject, it isn't going to happen with GT5 or GT6 if that does end up on PS3. One other thing that people don't mention is improving the texture quality such that the highest level mip map texture is bigger and looks better. The PS3 doesn't have the VRAM for such huge textures.

Not sure, it could be...I'll have to check

well, after looking at the side of the hood, the decals and the windscreen that is separated by the metal piece through the middle (no, that is not the windscreen-wiper(s)) I am inclined to say, yes, that is in fact the GTR Super GT car! :)
