I just heard something profound.......from my teenage son.....yeah it scared me too....Sony GT5 Release date, "well they won't put that out until blackops has been released".......

Made sense to me! Sony don't want to divert sales from the big christmas title modern warfare by letting the cat out of the bag regarding the iminent release date of GT5, could harm sales with people deciding to buy one or the other. No I don't mean it will be out next week but more the PR hype of black ops would be diluted by the GT5 hype and visa versa.

I'd expect a release date for GT5 next week and not before......stupid as that is.
 
These websites saying November 27 aren't remotely reputable. Half of them are posted by users themselves. And they all say the same copy-pasta thing about "being in time for Black Friday." November 27 is a Saturday, and games come out on Tuesday in the USA.

Edit: Went back again to get the link and now says Holiday again ???
 
It's kinda sad how anxious I feel right now, I'm freaking out that GT5 will finally be here, and that I may even have a chance to go and get it today... :lol:
 
Don't know what to think, week of 27th doesn't seem out of question, but two sites claiming it as fact without official word on a Sony site seems fishy. OTOH have Sony decided to ship it and let retailers announce and sell ASAP?

Sony won't get nearly as much revenue from Black Ops as it will from GT5. Black Ops is a 3rd party game, whereas GT5 is first party, so Sony gets a much larger chunk.
 
During the holidays delivery schedules will, have, and are always changing from the normal yearly delivery times. Selling GT5 on a saturady? Yes it can happen. Face it guys What's wrong with a saturday?

could be possibly true, but at least we know we will be getting it this year (well should due to the leaked copies)

Not really... The key is to get impressions and exposures to people that are not already actively seeking information about their product. We already know about GT5 and the release date troubles. We (GTP or people actively searching info on GT5 online) are not a new audience for Sony...

The point of marketing is to reach your target audience who is not actively informed. We all have selective attentions, it is up to the Marketing departments to reach those target audience and make them aware of the product. The casual race fans who see the commercials, then become interested. That is the impressions Sony is looking to make.

I agree with you and I'm not saying what they are doing is good, I'm just saying GT5 is like the Ark of the Covenent nobody has seen the final build and Sony is not really caring to show anyone. :)
 
Today's amateur footage of the (stolen/early received) copy of GT5 is better news than Turismo Tuesday's. Take that Gamestop:lol:

I think it makes sony look bad. There are copies at some retailers just a few days after a postponed release, which means game is ready for sale, but no release date and they're waiting for who knows what.

cant anyone who has contact to that guy who posted the GT5 Gameplay , ask him for couple more videos of racing... just racing, no spoilers or anything... i need more!

Just give me one copy, im in Austria... thats just like 4 hours by car from where that guy with GT5 is, hell if he wants 150 euros for a disc ill buy it!!!!!
