I think this whole GT5 controversy is the epitome to what has been a somewhat dissappointing gaming generation for Sony.
-frequent delays
-overly long dev cycles
-poor public relations
compared to the competition, sony has really dropped the ball, and in the next gaming gen, I might not go with Sony like I have since the early PS2 days.

And all this because of one game?

Yes you got my question, sorry about being confusing. I hope it is not that way in GT5.

I honestly have great contempt for the GTPSP system, but I think that they implemented it to keep people interested in the game, as it had no career mode. I don't see a reason for it in GT5, unless they really want to receive angry forum postings and mail campaigns. Though, from the photos that were posted here, (now censored, so I hope you've seen them, but they should be available elsewhere), they do have a new system and it isn't GTPSPs.

Yup, GT PSP was rated down due to a lack of career mode, but its essentially a pick up and play game, that model has no place in GT5.

Damn, all the videos got taken down by Sony...

Well, at least they know the videos are out there now and the next move is theirs to make.

Maybe so, but COD fans have a game. What do GT5 fans have? Rumor, conjecture, outright lies and worst of all silence. Just sayin'. :)

COD fans wont buy GT5, only people that loves videogames the old fashioned way with music that can be heard.

Its not one game. It is multiple game. This isn't the only Sony exclusive that I have been looking for. Socom 4 has been delayed as well, with no info to speak of apart from a few redundant vids. Killzone 2 was not worth the dev cycle it took for it. Forza is not GT, but atleast they can put out a quality product every 2 years.

Love or hate Turn 10, at least they know how to maintain a proper community.

Last I saw, their fanbase was outraged. Apparently they'd taken promised DLC cars, and limited availability to only those people who where willing to pay for the "new" ultimate eddition, which also happens to have all the previous dlc. That and apparrently after 5 or 6 months, they stopped producing new content on a monthly basis, after promising to do so for a year.
Not the best way to keep fans happy. :dopey:

I think it's just a matter of Sony making sure there is enough supply in place, then announcing a date.
At this point there is no more uncertainty that the finished build of the game exist. Probably before the end of the week at the latest we will know.
Just curious how quickly Sony will squash any new info, hopefully this last bit of wait will not be much longer. :)

Is it possible for Sony to do this on purpose? I noticed that SCEA was responsible for shooting down the videos but they were 13-15 hours late.

It would be a lot better if Sony would release some info of merit, and it would be a whole lot better to have it direct feed from sony rather than the off screen vids.

People here are funny. Sony doesn't know how to treat it's customers? Ok yeah, because they want guys on the net to show off a game that's not released? All the guys complain about spoiling it for others, now it's bad to take the vids down? T10 knows how to treat its customers and knows how to maintain a community? Really? Is that why people were crying foul over the newest 'edition' of Forza just to stay 'current' considering GT is going to be here? All the fans complaining how the new edition has cars only exclusive to that game, and other Forza owners can't even purchase it on DLC? That's maintaining a community isn't it? Sony can't do that though because of GTPlanet users? Or are we basing this conclusion off of one official delay of GT5? Wow. I didn't know games weren't allowed to be delayed from their only official release date. I guess no developer has ever turned in a game of this magnitude late? And by a rumored 3 days? So lets hang Sony and PD for trying to not ruin the surprise that GT5 is going to be. And trying to make it perfect and hammer out the bugs before release? Maybe they shoulda released it back in march and had a lesser online community, or maybe had a patch like NFS:Shift, or had lesser detail and 8 cars on track like Forza 3. What I wonder is how can any of you complain when you can't make a game of this size and scope in the amount of time PD and Kaz have done so.

Do you have a problem with corporations protecting copyrighted material?

Somebody has obtained a copy of an unreleased game (possibly illegaly) as is releasing copyrighted content that he has no rights to onto the internet.

If I was to obtain a copy of one of next months hit movies and released the video of it onto YouTube would you think the producers of the film had no right to remove it?

What you fail to understand is that copyright laws are laws that are only applicable if a country's government enforces them. They aren't uniformly enforced across all countries in the world.

not a chance, that's way too big of a favor, the payout would definitely not be worth it

Definitely agree with that, the theory is a huge stretch anyways lol

I guess I'm just trying to rationalize Sony's dumbass decision of staying quiet.

I gave it a quick lookover and saw a bunch of manufacturers missing and then a post about a page later got me questioning the GT5 PSP system. I hope the purchasing is still a buy what you want, when you want kind of thing.

So I guess its safe to say everyone on both sides is pissed?

Surprisingly the videos are still up on Youtube. Maybe Jordan was quick to act and Youtube are still fact checking, or Sony management is falling apart.

Yes, definitely. Companies have produced "leaks" of their own all the time; that could have something to do with the fact that a lot of the videos are things we don't really care about that much. At the same time, finding stuff on Youtube and waking the lawyers up, etc. takes time... Sony doesn't check this site all the time like some users do, after all...

It's bogus. Over, and over, and over, and over again.

It's bogus.

Please make it stop. Read.

This reminds me of when every post was a link to the placeholder date on Sony Style's website a couple days ago. Please stop posting about that Twitter account.

damn I hope so, iv only just learnt how the psp system works and it sounds terible..

wish people would stop quoting this guy, it's FAKE!

to me that's one of the things that makes the GT series what it is, play your ass off to buy what ever caryou want, when you want to. Hopfully this gets confirmed asap!
