I noticed that, if you drive a generally powerful car in a race at 75% of its limit (take it you only pressed the throttle to 75%) the AI drivers also seem to slow down.

I noticed this when I kept doing the historic race car events with the buick special 62. If I cruise along I end up slowly overtaking the opposition, gaining first, until the final lap, where the most powerful AI of the lot will try hunt you down. If however I go full throttle from the start, it is a much harder race as all AI is going for it... and that 1 powerful AI usually leaves a large gap ahead from the rest of the pack.

I nailed the Deep Forest event by doing that, but Cote De Azure has too many sharp turns that my Buick can't make. I'll need to find another car for that event.

Easiest way to roll over is is to go to trail mountain, speed the last chicane before the starting grid, if you look to the right of the chicane, you will see that its a big bump, and if you fast enough, it will flip your car.

Thats how I did mine. Best place for getting Rollover trophy it I'd say

My girlfriend got that one for me. She forgot to brake at the 400m start stop license test. She started braking a few feet before the tyres. Slammed right into them, the car flipped over it's front tyres right on it's roof lol.

Rollover trophy... cool :)

sometimes i'm too afraid to touch the trottle. seriously punishing at times if you havn't straightened the wheels, or the car is generally moving due to G force. I'm getting a bit more fluid in breaking to accelearting, but some tracks i literally go round the whole track on about 75 % throttle. But it also depends on the car, the ferrari 360 was so easy to drive it was ridicilous, it wasn't that exciting, the Mclaren F1 stealth, is generally stable, but does have a kick out of corners, but the stealth Mazda is sooooo good under breaking it makes exiting corners so much easier. compared to the gallardo, which i always seem to pull to the left or right under breaking - particulary in that first right to left at rome.

Haha. That sounds awesome.
You should give the Lotus Elise a try with maximum weight reduction and soft race-tyres... :D

A question, is the Miura IRL really as quick and powerful as it is in the game? At least compared to other cars of its time and class? (Like the AC Cobra, Ferrari, etc.)

I remember in TestDriveUnlimited it was quite fast car too (not that TDU is a real driving simulator but still sort of in that direction). And looking at specs, it should be fast, why not.

370hp engine in a 1.1ton car....its like 370hp in current civic. And with supercar dna, it must perform.

It seems like it.

I wonder if it will be avaliable as free DLC tomorrow, because that's when the official photos will be out.
Maybe it's going to be one of the DLCs cars for the next GT Academy?

Unfortunately not. Stories from the time tell of nose lift from 70mph, with some extremely hairy handling past 100mph! Dont forget that this was the early days of MR design (it is Lambo's first MR car), and aerodynamic intelligence was also in its infancy.

$*&$%&* Gran Turismo Rally Pace Notes ????!?!? Are way too lateeee !!!

After a 900 meters call .. as soon as I enter a blind "2"-right corner he begins to call it !!

$%?R%?& Kaz you are not a perfectionist !

I think for the most part, the guy's directions are good. The map is very useful, but it blocks the view too much. Also, today, I had the navigator say "7 left" when it was actually 7 right, but it was a minor mistake.

also for the pace notes it dont give you the distances to the next corner... The only time you get a distance is if its a long straight. For some reason in GT5 the pace notes seem useless... I cant seem to match them to the road.

rally is stupid full stop, i turn off the map and the pace notes hardly qualify as such.

and you have to go into options every stage as the map keeps popping up even though its off.

I'm not happy with the rally mode in this GT. I've been playing Dirt2 for a year now and to me that's the best rally game out there right now. That is until Dirt3 comes out next year.
Pace notes are close to perfect, Navigator speaks clearly and with a purpose, car is smooth, I can feel the road.

Yea, rally mode in GT is a complete waste of time. It's a joke.
Have you tried Richard Burns Rally?
Best rally game ever made. Real hardcore rally sim.
Dirt 2 is fun, but a little arcadey.
I remember when richard burns rally came out, one of the review quotes at the time was "porno for petrolheads" , pretty much sums it up

They do dont they? When the guy says...200....400....over 1000. Isn't he talking about how many meters until the next turn.

Just did a lap on The Ring with the LFA 7:28.9. I think that is pretty damn fast. I really had to push the car. 7:30 is not too hard but under it gets tricky.
