You pretty much sum up most of the reasonable opinions on GT5 (and to some extent abit, mine). I love GT5 to the point of playing it far more then anyone else even when a new racing title grabs my attention, but I keep thinking "I wish there was more". Perhaps not even cars or tracks, just more content. Maybe GT6 will be that full title GT5 was meant to be.

Thank you for speaking for me. Although I've voiced this exact same opinion before.. it's hard not to say it again when GT is really the only enjoyable racer out there for me.

As general discussion, I am now somewhat believing finally in GT5 being a disappointment. Most of you who know me know that I usually consider GT2 to be the worst of the GT titles. These days, I'm kind of thinking GT5 is the most disappointing GT in the series. I just don't go on epic rants about GT5. I usually save epic rants for when my sports teams lose. In my GT blog, I've noted that GT5 could have been much more. I've said on here that GT5's success will be weighed more on if the game's shortcomings will hinder it as a premier title. The game is still great despite its shortcomings. It just could have been a whole lot more.

Regardless, I still am not lamenting over purchasing GT5 and my PS3. I just... I'm just hopeful GT6 will be a serious rebound from GT5. I am just speaking as a GT veteran.

Thank you for putting it in a way that we can all read it and take you seriously, it's very refreshing to read a post like yours.

That wasn't from a Sony rep, was it? Red Bull said that we'd get Pikes Peak, and we haven't.

Both that Tweet, as well as the accompanying picture, came from Scion themselves. Sure this seems questionable but its hard to question since this actually has the pic to possibly back it up unlike the Pikes Peak Claim.

Well GT5 dissapointing as it maybe will always be the best Racing game (On the Playstation) till now anyways but do you guys think that is good enough anymore? (excluding Forza which arguably is more enjoyable than GT5) but shouldn't GT6 be aiming for the PC great sims atleast in terms of physics ?

The true test for GT will be next year when pCARS is released.

As much as I wish there were true, I doubt it simply because SM aren't going for the same things PD are, so they're going to be pretty different games. In terms of game structure CARS is looking to be something like GRID, only realistic in every way that wasn't. GT isn't really going to be a direct competition I feel.

This. I really don't understand where people get that odd thinking from.

Why not both fall under the Racing Genre and to be honest if Kaz announced a GT6 to be released ssoon id be anticipating PCARS more.Unless the series gets a major revamp it needs /my 2 cents anywayanyway

Are you playing the pCARS beta/alpha now? Because yes, they're both racing games but beyond that they're not going to be very similar at all, especially once we get to the final product of CARS.

No I'm not and Yes PCARS focuses on the actual racing and progressing through different ranks(Formula,GT,Nascar, etc) but at the end of the day Your racing in both games against AI/multiplayer and both aiming for realistic sim like Physics and virtual representation of racing so yes why not compare them?

For the reasons you've just described. GT5 isn't about that. You wouldn't directly compare a game like GRID to GT5, even if you imagine it had sim physics, would you?

I do get your point but you can atleast compare the Racing in.both(main aspect of a racing game) and it seems PCARS will have a big edge in this category

Yes no doubt, I just don't ultimately see them being in direct competition. It's a bit like Forza and Race Pro on the 360, Race Pro had great driving but it wasn't a direct competitor for Forza.

I see what you're saying, but I feel that they are planning to try and challenge established games both PC and console wise. I think they'll add more road going cars but the structure I agree with you isn't going to be the same. It wont be like GT life, or Forza start ups.

I still see it as a direct challenger because most people see GT as a racing game, I've only seen the faithful call it a driving game. Even PD label it a racing game. Either way I say this is better argued when the final product is shown.

Don't get me wrong, I really hope it makes PD and Kaz wake up and realise how far behind they are but, without wanting to offend anyone directly, consumers are stupid a lot of the time. So many great games are ignored because they don't have the name or the big marketing plugs, ie 1000 cars and the Gran Turismo name.

That's why I worry that no matter how good pCARS ends up being consumers are going to mostly ignore it because it's not a big name and 'only' has 50 - 75 cars, although it already has a better track lineup. I don't know if you played it but I have a terrible feeling it'll end up like Race Pro, which was a great game (with some bugs) but sold really poorly

From our, the fans point of view, PD needs all the competition they can get then hopefully they will realise they need to move forward. Because at the moment they don't have any direct competition on PS3, and it's making them complacent.

I just finished the last race and i was very close to become the hulk ^_^, i want to understand this, when we going to get our cars? after GTA officially closed?

I just wonder........who wants those cars anyway?????

Another GT-R, Silvia, 350Z, etc? mehhh:yuck:

same with me...but i want motegi and i really hope it will be included sooner than july 4th with some new dlc cars...

Just spent 1-2 hours having some fun on Twin Ring Motegi.

It's surprising how good it looks. It was kinda boring on GT4, but its much more fun on GT5 engine.

Has it fully modelled track surface or is it another "studio created track" based on GPS and photo data?
