This thread has become the discursive equivalent of tumbleweed, bouncing slowly across
the empty main street of a once bustling town. Gt5 the twilight years :)
It mostly sucked anyway - roll on GT6, and with it REDEMPTION.

The problem is there is still no news to discuss. Just look at the front page of GT Planet, for the last couple of months it's been 90% real racing and GT Academy stuff. We're in dire need of some talk out of PD land.

Agreed.

+1 to that^ lets hope for a big update "again" soon!

A video from Playstation's Facebook about the Sony Entertainment Network.

It's a great video which shows (from around 1.22) GT being ran on a set of utterly fantastic looking motion rigs, with an X2010 on the ring, along with some footage of what must be the Japanese version of the GT Academy software. While in itself, I don't think there is anything truly new to talk about here, but It is great to see that Gran Turismo is still being pushed pretty hard by Sony.

On a side note, it really is a cool video, start to finish.

EDIT: Post 2400 :gtplanet:

Interesting find, Dinosaw (and congrats on 2400 :)). I've never seen GT Academy motion simulators like those shown in the video.

I wonder how good that motion rig + GT5 compared to PC sim + motion rig ?

Jordan,

Has any of these rig companies contacted you about sales or even reviews?

I always wondered why you guys don't sell wheels, rigs, etc.

Those motion rigs look pretty awesome. Some what like the 3DOF machines.

You can bet the cost of one of those things would be WOW too!

Somewhere I have the feeling those things are pretty expensive...

Upclose they look like motion rigs, but from far way the things look like huge walkers.

Is that real though or is it just a simulated video, if you get what I mean?

Dammit Sony, there's another song I can't get out of my head.

Seems real, just looks like it took alot of work to put together.

GT5 sales now at 9 million units worldwide
wow not bad:tup:

I don´t want to quote the same picture again but those motion rigs are the first ones that i see with lateral displacement. They look like spiders. Amazing design.

Force Dynamics is great.

But again those ones with GT5 looks stunning.

Wow....
Given the smaller install base of the PS3 when compared to the PS1 or PS2 selling 9 Million copies on PS3 is even more impressive :)

Does anyone know, by any wild chance, if there is at least one standard vehicle that has more changeable aero parts than just a spoiler?

Sure, many can change wheels. :P
