not sure if this was posted, but the official PlayStation YouTube Channel posted the GT5 video from the GoW3 disc, and the description says:

"... Watch for Gran Turismo® 5 coming in 2010, with more cars than ever, and a host of advanced features, as well as ground-breaking new features yet to be announced."

I was not expecting something unannounced at this point... :P

Youtube is the keyword. I mean, when's the last time you went there for breaking news?

But to be fair, we don't know all things about GT5, so sure, there's stuff left to uncover.

Things left to uncover (possibly):

What type of weather?

GT Auto?

Livery Editor?

Depth of tuning?

Track editor?

Tracks not yet revealed?

Basically, the only thing we really, truly know is that it's going to be called Gran Turismo 5.

Sony already announced that in di december we will have this bundle,ps eye,ps3 slim and the new ps Move so I think that GT5 release date, likely, will be 2-3month before that announced bundle!!

I'm sure everyone do, I just don't know yet why he's gone.

That's exactly what I'm wondering about for months! Anyone care to tell/explain?

Because some idiots here thought its a good idea to call amar a dumb liar.

Yeah, and then those same idiots attacked me for defending amar because it wasn't exactly 100000% correct to the dotted i or crossed t!! :grumpy: That's 1/2 the reason I don't read in the GT5 section anymore because the combined IQ of those idiots is lower than my shoe size!! I miss having amar around, I was one of his biggest supporters and believers of his "winds"....look how many of them came true, yet he was vilified for no good reason!!

I actually received "death threats" from people who felt I had misled them when the March 2010 date was announced. I don't know if Amar received that level of abuse as well, but I can understand why he felt the hatred directed towards him after that announcement was unjustified. He had nothing to do with with the Christmas release date rumors.

I hope you banned each and every single person that did that Jordan within 20 seconds of reading their threats!! 👍 It just shows the lack of intelligence from these knuckleheads to abuse the owner of this website when Jordan has no influence over what PD do with release dates or whatnot.

Seriously, because of examples of behaviour like these, it's no wonder that most of the long term members won't touch this section with a 20ft pole, it almost makes 4chan seem like a saner place to be at times!! 👎

Yes, every threat to a person should result in ban.

One thing i can say about Amar, is that he is not a liar. I know him personally, and he's is a great and fun guy, and knows a lot about gaming industry. It's a big loss to GT community that he left. He only shared info with us, to extent that he could, but apparently to some people that is not enough. nobody can predict true info except PD, so people shouldn't take everything for granted.

Amar was probably only reliable source of Gran Turismo news and I liked even his common replies to the forum. But PD and Sony do change their mind so often that even so close info turned to be almost useless in the end. 600 cars, 96 tracks are totally different numbers than presented today and whole GT5 made it into neverending delay story again. But not even a bit can be counted as Amar's fault and he is surely welcomed if he wants to join again.

One thing that I would love to see a return in GT5 that has been missing from GT3-4, and that's a race entry fee. GT2 has been regarded as the best in the series by many people for a number of reasons, but for me it's this. A race entry fee would bring back some of the much needed strategy that GT2 had.

I totally agree with you guys. Amar was (I really hope he still is) a great source of information for all of us.
For sure is not a wizard, he has good links to the game industry and he is able to get the best from them and make good guesses.
If PD or Sony change their strategies it's their business.
As well as other guys here he always has a good way to reply and to inform (the 'winds' announcement was outstanding in my opinion, I loved it)
This forum as well as others is a mixture of very useful replies and not useful (if not worse than that) ones.

Amar: I don't know if you decided to leave the community. I really hope not, but in case I wish you the best and I wish myself to race against you in GT5. Ciao!

I trust you shrugged them off as ridiculous little internet tough guys and didn't let it stress you too much but reported their IP to the relevant authorities just to piss them off

I'm shocked by this. Some people have got to realise this is just a game!

That'd be boring. I prefer a more... proactive approach, usually reserving spots in my avatar and signature for people deserving of special attention.

I'm unsurprised and surprised in equal measures. There are people who seem to believe they can act however they wish on the internet and it won't come back and bite them in the ass. But on the other hand, we only had an internal, unconfirmed schedule and at no point published a date - neither did Sony. "I'm going to kill you for the contents of my own head" is pretty much the definition of schizophrenia.

Also from the description:
This trailer takes a look at the game's night racing mode
We used to have some night tracks in the older GT games (these were hard-coded, if you will), but now they are talking about a night mode. Maybe I'm reading too much in this, but it seems like the game engine now allows for night racing for all tracks (which has already been announced in various articles). This could also mean that the engine allows for gradual changing from day to night and back (nice for endurance races) and who knows what else.

I'm sure if one was of a mind to do a quick PI check on them you'd be able to get enough info to have their ISP cut them off or (better still) get them a stint in the big boys jail where they will learn that real men follow up threats with actions that might leave one reluctant to sit down for a while. Now that's what I call counter-trolling.

Threats?? This is just RIDICULOUS! ( sorry for the capital letters AUP )

I used to think that GTP was a forum for discussing, exchanging ideas and sharing our passion for automobiles and games, not a place for childish threats. You should contact the police Jordan, consequences exist and must be felt by whoever deserves them.

From where I've come, respect comes first, that's why I think twice before having a go at someone. You should name the guys who had this innacceptable behaviour and create the "Wall of the Shame". A place for members to throw offenses on people who really deserves it. :banghead:

I wanna see the Top Gear track. Like a lap of it or something.

Yeah same here we only saw about 2 or 3 shots of it we need more but we haven't seen alot of the new tracks as well (aside from tokyo :D)

I'm seriously tired of looking at Tokyo by now. 👎
Not only do I wanna see the Top Gear track but I wanna know more about that whole aeroplane on the runway thing too. That was some weird stuff.

Maybe "mode" means you have to switch it on for, for example, time trial, i get the feeling we wont be able to drive with a full grid at night.

Yeah, I will not be wanting to race on the Tokyo track when the game gets released, because they aired it so much now that we're all saturated with it...
About the aeroplane, I think it's just a trailer gimmick to show that's really a runaway, but it would be pretty cool if you could drag race a couple of different aeroplanes, like from a slow cesna to the jet fighter, it would be so "top gear"!:D:dunce:👍

What gives you that feeling?

It would make sense, reminds me a bit of the option in GT4s Arcade mode with the convertibles (open top=one AI car max.). I guess the real time lighting from the headlights needs a lot of processing power (dont forget real time shadowing too) and so far we have only seen one SLS driving alone on SSR5 at night.

Way I look at the airplane is this - imagine if no one on this board had never seen prologue and you showed us the intro vid that came out with the patch with the audi R8's racing round the car park.

Guaranteed we'd be speculating about whether it was a Tokyo Drift - style drifting mission :dopey:

During night racing no HDR lighting is required, so that processing power could be used for things like the headlights. Besides, maybe it is enough to put fewer cars on the grid. Time will tell.....

But if we wont get day/night cycles the lighting is more or less static at day.
So they can use premade shadows for all the trackside objects that dont interact with the cars, you cant do that with real time headlights+shadowing, because every object near to the road has to cast a shadow depending from which position the lights hit them.

I also still doubt we will be able to drive all tracks at night, i just cant imagine it with these graphics on the Nordschleife or tracks like El Capitan.

EDIT: On the other hand, when i look at games like Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain & God of War III....

There's a lot of spooky stuff going on with shadows and lighting right now. I honestly don't understand most of it myself (despite Griff and Stonemonkey's best attempts to explain it) but the upshot is - a lot of what might have been pie in the sky 4 or 5 years ago is more than possible now.
