Way I look at the airplane is this - imagine if no one on this board had never seen prologue and you showed us the intro vid that came out with the patch with the audi R8's racing round the car park.

Guaranteed we'd be speculating about whether it was a Tokyo Drift - style drifting mission :dopey:

Except, Top Gear track is actually created on top of a real runaway, so it isn't really that hard to draw some conclusions, such as drag racing on the main runaway strip(that scene with lights) as well as racing on the track itself. ;)

But if we wont get day/night cycles the lighting is more or less static at day.
So they can use premade shadows for all the trackside objects that dont interact with the cars, you cant do that with real time headlights+shadowing, because every object near to the road has to cast a shadow depending from which position the lights hit them.

Actually it is one of the things I do not like in GT5p.
I have some points where I'm using shadows as breaking points, since they do not move anyway. If I was put on the real track in a real car, I would be looking for the shadow as reference.

In the GT academy 2010 demo it was the same, indeed I did not see any reason this would have changed in GT5. Maybe for GT6.

I wanna see El capitan or Trial Mountain that was one of best graphic in GT4 and I wanna see New York too...:grumpy:

Same here, El Capitan is one of my all time favorite tracks for both testing and cruising. The bumps around the uphill section are great fun. :dopey:👍

I'm unsurprised and surprised in equal measures. There are people who seem to believe they can act however they wish on the internet and it won't come back and bite them in the ass. But on the other hand, we only had an internal, unconfirmed schedule and at no point published a date - neither did Sony. "I'm going to kill you for the contents of my own head" is pretty much the definition of schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia is a condition and, therefore, some tolerance should be taken in account because of it and by definition. "Death threats" are just plain stupidity.

Schizophrenia is one of the most serious mental illnesses and is too often put totally out of context and used rather lightheartedly as a common description of any behaviour considered odd or idiosyncratic.

You can't judge people who suffer from it, neither can you describe a person who demonstrates intolerant behaviour as a schizophrenic without being a qualified doctor.

Intolerant behaviour on a forum, should be banned regardless who commits it and why.
Not using a crippling medical condition to describe them, popular as it may be, it's still totally out of order.

Well said Analog.

Observe the street names on the road signs.

"Tentative
Asking for ideas "

HOLY ****! Great Find Deep_Sky!! Nice to see all those cars with the lights on!!! Exciting! Especially the interior view with the glow of all the guages and buttons! Forza what??

I don't think I'm going to race in the daytime at all if it looks like that

There are no words to express just how intensely ridiculous these two posts are. So instead I shall leave it up to two sentences and one smiley.

Point out to me where I was intolerant or offensive to schizophrenics. Stop taking offence on behalf of other people at what you think I said.

I never really ever thought I'd see the word "schizophrenia" on GTP. I'm not sure I want to know what that conversation is about.

Anyways love the new night shots.

nice, but soon in PD's language is yeah.. you know that

First of all describing a sincere and well meant objection as intensely ridiculous makes we wonder if it's worth replying at all.
Secondly i never called you intolerant towards schizophrenics but those remarks can be considered offensive as they describe schizophrenics as verbally agressive and threatening, which if you were aware of this condition you might realise this is simply not true ( mostly they are the ones suffering from intense fear and the only threat they cause is to themselves ).
And taking offence on behalf of other people, how would you know a family member or myself might not suffer from it?

Then don't.

Can schizophrenia be characterised by violent intent towards others based on nothing more than invented thoughts? If so - and indeed it can be - you have taken offence for no reason, based on a supposition that the person voted 5 times "Most Knowledgeable Member" of GTPlanet with a history of working with individuals with learning difficulties is not "aware" of the condition.

But carry on by all means.

And taking offence on behalf of other people, how would you know a family member or myself might not suffer from it?

If a family member suffers from it, that's "other people". If you suffer from it - and I know one member of GTP who has a schizophrenic-spectrum disorder - you wouldn't have taken offence because the description was accurate.

Note that I said someone who has violent intent towards others based on nothing more than invented thoughts is schizophrenic. Not that someone who is schizophrenic is someone who has violent intent towards others based on nothing more than invented thoughts. The two are different, and the latter is both false and offensive.

Ridiculous dear sir is your reaction to the above mentioned posts.

Although I'd subscribe Analog's position, I merely pointed out the obvious about schizoprenia and that, according to my position, the unacceptable behaviour that some members had towards Jordan is simply stupidity!

I fail to where the expression of my opinions go against the "extremely cherished" AUP of this forum and, even if so, why would that be eligible to be be categorized by a moderator as ridiculous.

It is neither against the AUP to post something ridiculous, nor say that it is ridiculous.

The last time they used "soon" was in 2009. So yeah...

They keep teasing us, indeed. The pics are great. But come on, we want more.

I don't want to further go into this subject as this is not the platform to discuss such serious subjects and it seems inappropriate also to other members who only want to discuss, like me, their favourite game.

Since you seem to claim all knowledge regarding this issue ( and most knowledgeable by vote in general ) and not taking my objection to be sincere and describing it as ridiculous and regarding being offended by it even if it concerned a family member to be absurd i will leave it as it is.

Hi hardvibes – I cannot qualify ’soon’ any further, however development is progressing well and we will make the launch announcement shortly. Please bear with us – the end product will be worth the wait!
:nervous:
From "soon" to "shortly"

From "soon" to "shortly"

The whole page is like this

Hardvibes asks him about how soon it is he answers we will have a release date soon and we will have some news soon :D but like I said a summer release date is surely now out of the question.

P.S (Soon is now confusing.)

I had some time with Penrose Tackie recently. The one question I didn't ask him - on purpose - was a release date.

However, he did, in the course of our conversation, say "soon", "very soon" and "sooner than you think" a few times.

Why am I not surprised ?:D

As for the release date alot of sony CEO's are confirming a fall release and to be honest although how unreliable they may sound, If GT5 is only 3-4 month away then atleast we would have had a release date and some confirmed features.

Time is psychological. All you have to do is keep your mind occupied in all matters not related to Gran Turismo 5. Tend to your kids, work hard, study well at school, do your homework, visit your friends and check up on GT5 every so often. That'll make "soon" even "sooner"!

So much easier said than done, though :(
