I don't mean to sound arrogant, but the translation from french to english is 100% correct, I'm fluent at both languages.
I just wish someone could confirm from the japanese words of Kaz

then it would be coming from the horse's mouth :)
I didn't mean to sound as if I am doubting your ability to translate it.

I just know that Hideo Kojima ran into an issue where he made some comments regarding the 50GB limit on a Blu-Ray not being large enough for MGS4 and how he had to cut some stuff. In Japanese culture his comments were self deprecating and he was commenting on his own inability to make it fit within current technological constraints, but when translated correctly to English it sounded like he was insulting the technology.

I doubt there is any kind of intonation lost from French to English as the roots of the languages are similar, however in past interviews Kaz has said that he wants to have that type of integration with GT PSP, but also for all future Gran Turismo titles. That does not mean that all future GT titles will have all the cars from GT PSP and/or GT5, but we all already know that he wishes they could.

There is nothing wrong with speculating about whether he means all cars from GT PSP will be in GT5, but when people begin saying it is confirmed then it leads to a situation where some people may become angry if that is not what actually happens.

You don't have to leave the Gran Turismo section of this site to see where that has happened before. People have said that Yamauchi said that Prologue would just be upgraded to GT5. He never said that. Similarly, when Yamauchi mentions what his goals for something are (remember the Fall update stuff?) people take that as confirmation that it will happen. When it doesn't some people act as if he killed their dog.

I speak passable Japanese and I watched the video but it's pretty difficult to hear KY's Japanese over the French dubbing. I'm pretty sure that he said it's his intention for it to be possible to use cars that you unlocked in GT Portable in GT5.

I don't think people should read too much into the comment. He says that GT portable is intended as an introduction to Gran Turismo so I'm convinced that GT5 is going to be huge in comparison.

Thank you for your explanation, I see your point
I also remember that controversy with Kojima.

Thanks for you input! I guess then we can't be 100% sure but there is a good possibility it will be so.
What's your feeling from hearing the interview? Just an intention or an indication that it will really be that way?

Did Yamauchi not say that there might be a possibillity that he will integrate/merge the GTPSP garage with the GT5 version?

I remember hearing that or reading that and it got me worried (as in, more content he wants to get in GT5 and that might take more time to finish the game).

i dont' know if anyone have already written it.. Here in Italy at gamestop you can preorder the game and the release date is 25 november 2009... for "only" 69.99 euros.

Yep.

I live in Rome and I never really trusted gamestop. I don't see why I should change my mind since no released date was confirmed yet by PD/SCE. Gamestop can join play.com, ign and many other friends on my "blacklist"

I don't trust gamestop too. I just reported what i saw today in a gamestop in Milan.
I just hope that the game will come out in 2009.

Well, unless you speak japanese, we'll have to go from the french text:
"cars unlocked" is definitely not "cars bought"

Yep you're right; the translation is good and "débloquer" does mean unlock and nothing else.

The translation of "cars bought" would be: "voitures achetées".

That would be incorrect. At a pinch I'm guessing (early) December.

Oh wow, thats an awesome guess, maybe you should start a thread so that everyone else knows when its coming out!

Gt5 needs this
- BETTER "AI"
- MORE "MONEY" REWARDING
- BETTER "CAR" REWARDING NOT 3 TIME THE SAME CAR ON DIFFRENT EVENTS
- MORE RACING CARS ON A EVENT NOT ONLY 6 BUTH atleast "15"
- WHO KNOWS "LIKE THE WIND EVENT" THEY ARE VERY SLOW CARS ARE NOT MODIFEYED FOR THE TRACS.
- I HOPE THEY DONT SPEND TIME FOR OLD CARS LIKE THE FIRST CARS ON THe PLANETS

- MORE "MONEY" REWARDING

No thanks, it was way too easy to earn money (credits) in GT4 already in my opinion

GT5P already has 16 car races so we can be pretty sure GT5 will atleast have the same.

- I HOPE THEY DONT SPEND TIME FOR OLD CARS LIKE THE FIRST CARS ON THe PLANETS

I hope they spend even more time on old cars.

Jay
I hope they spend even more time on old cars.

Agreed... Not only are they very neat (very excited to get into cockpit view in GT5) but they paved the way for cars today. They are just as important as having modern cars IMO.

Guy, stop shouting. Otherwise passable as I'd guess you aren't too fluent in English - I don't mean that to be an insult either.

Couple of things, rather a couple of opinions...

- Loftier credit rewards are just going to make the game excessive, as it will become too easy to pretty much do anything.
- I'd agree with this. The carousel in GT3 was absolutely frustrating as you could never really make up your mind which car you actually wanted, and when you did you had to work out an elaborate and exact button mashing scheme to get said car.
- Already been addressed, Prologue already supports up to 16 players on the grid. If anything, I can only see the number going up if anything.
- I'm not too sure what you mean by this one - Clarify.
- I'd love a greater generation of cars, I'm not much of a hot-rod or classic car person...but I'd love to drive one. 👍

nah my fault i read an article saying sony's head was giving the keynote at TGS on the 24th and assumed it was this month because i cant even tell you what month it is until someone said it wasnt september yet. So yeah i lost track of months/

I'm hoping they include both Online and Offline Drifting events in GT5. I'd love that so much as I'm getting better at Drifting in GT5:P.

Good point, four cars online drifting the same set of curves would be spectacular :sly:

Not sure if right thread but wasnt there meant to be a second half interview with the boss himself. Not sure who was to release, just remember reading it was today! The first half was released last week?

I read somewhere on here about a big announcement by Sony in August.. whats that about? Like screenshots of GT5 or something maybe?

Eh, theres also the GamesCom in August, straight after the GDC.
Im actually a bit confused, because the 3h press conference from Sony for the GamesCom is on August 18, i didnt even knew that the GDC Europe is in Cologne.
