Just because a source says that was the case it doesn't mean it's true.
Unless I see videos of PD individually modelling each car's sounds, or someone enters the sound files of GT4 (can't be too difficult for someone who knows what he/her is doing) and shows each sound is different, I will remain unconvinced.
. End of discussion.
why downloadable ?!? you mean from the playstation store ?
Everyone20 locations, 70 variations
When this was originally said, I translated the original Japanese myself (wish I'd kept it now), and the way the language was used (20 circuits, 70 layouts) indicated over 20 real world tracks (Nuerburgring, Laguna Seca, La Sarthe, Suzuka, Fuji etc.) and over 70 PD-created tracks (Trial Mountain, High Speed Ring, Eiger, London, Midfield etc.). "Circuit" implies a track that already exists and "Layout" implies one that has been laid out (created).
Whether those 70 include forward/backward and short versions, or whether they are just 70 tracks and you can add the forward/backward/short versions onto that I don't know and can't speculate. But I'm confident in my interpretation because I did it (I would be) from the original language, rather than a second translation from French... Of course, it's up to you whether you agree with me or not.
GRAN TURISMO 5, can you answer me this?
Will you bring back the Nissan Pulsar GTiR that was already in GT1&2 or will it be left out again like it was in GT3&4?
👍

To play with a GTI-R in full HD, GT5 style, and mod it would make my day![]()
Well, you said it yourself, it gives you a lot of hope, so clearly you hope that will be the case, hence why you think it is the best post you've read in weeks! That's the best post i've read in weeks. Gives me a lot of hope. That would be perfect, and it would fit better with the evidences we have (like returning classic tracks, weather thing on Prologue).
Completely agree with your translation. At least there will be more than 20 tracks. I mean, there are almost 20 confirmed already, with a lot of tracks from previous games missing. See, I read things differently. A "circuit" or "location" even, is the original/standard layout for any given track, be it real life or made up by PD. Trial Mountain is every bit a circuit as Suzuka, except one exists in real life, the other doesn't. A "layout" is a variation on the original track, using the same location, same track assets etc., but with the track layout altered slightly. Either way, 20 "circuits" can easily become "70 tracks in total".
I could be totally wrong, and to be honest, I don't really care, but that's how I interpret those words in context.
In your opinion of course. I happen to think it's a great colour for most sports cars, so I guess we are both right, or are we both wrong?Worst enzo colour ever!
Very diplomatic Famine, and I agree totally - it is confusing, and ultimately none of this track talk will have any bearing on what I expect/get out of the game (as long as Trial Mountain is inThat's interpreting the English translation of the French translation. Circuits, layouts, variations, locations, they're all synonyms to varying levels and that's why this whole thing is extraordinarily confusing. But the original text very clearly demarcated that which exists from that which is created.
However, this text was pulled. Why? Maybe it's because it was right and unintentionally leaked - or maybe because it was wrong! The fact I'm confident that my translation of that original information is correct - more than 20 real circuits and more than 70 fantasy ones (which could be 35 forward and 35 reverse) - shouldn't have any bearing on what we can expect from the game.
Don't forget lads/lassies that in regards to real life circuits there will be more than 2 NASCAR ovals (although Infineon would also be a NASCAR circuit) and that WRC will make up a sizable portion of the 70 variations.

Greater reunion will ask for great sacrifice to be made in order to get all present and future treasures without new sacrifices needed, while smaller reunion will come in form already known, asking for more sacrifices if future treasures catches the eyes of the birdtamers.
