yeah that article was full of BS and, once again, they treated a demo as if it were the final game. It's not. I'm sure we'll all be very happy with GT5 in the end. But, I think it's funny that he mentioned "the physics are a lot like GT4" then never really explained how.

It is just annoying that those game sites don't give GT5 the credit it deserves I mean C'mon Dirt 2 and Grid.
Yep,Grid and dirct, come on,are they serious??what the hell are we speaking about??!!

Speaking of Dirt 2...if there's a track editor, anyone gonna create some X-Games style rally courses?

Fully agree, although I don't think we'll be very happy with GT5....

I think we'll be absolutely blown away :D 👍

Probably the best line in that article was:
I would much rather play this demo again than start up the full version of Forza 3
If a demo of 4 tracks can make that sort of impression, I think we're all in for a treat

Agreed. 👍 Damn I cant wait for GT5 went to best buy and the 3D TV are amazing! I am saving up til Nov

-> I would say that this article is half-empty at best. They're treating this Demo as an evident failure that would be the final game called GT5. :indiff:

-> It also stated that Dirt 2 & Grid rates higher than this GT demo. So evidently, the self described neutral fanboi is (hinting) proclaiming Forza 3 as the industry standard of console racing sim. 🤬

Well he did say this.

I would much rather play this demo again than start up the full version of Forza 3

Well they, GamesRadar, give a perfect 10 to Forza 3 so ...

Perhaps GT5 could nudge a bit higher, maybe 10.5? :D

Decent article but, any "specialist" doing a report on any Gran Turismo game shouldn't use assists, specially TCS which kills half of the fun. His physics evaluation doesn't deserve any credit, as he doesn't understand anything about what he's trying to comment on.

They review with TCS,my god that is really a :ouch:
If the review is based on a drive with TCS is not a good review

Hey, if we get crappy interiors for Standard cars, I don't want to hear anyone say "I'd rather have no interiors than these ones."

I don't see a problem with having interiors that look like GT PSP's, cause an interiors an interior, and it'd be great.

And reading that article, we need a real GT person to get us reviews cause these things aren't working. People always blast it for not being like everyone else. And that's exactly how we like it.

He wants it to feel like GRID or Dirt? NO. Maybe if GRID was more like GT, then it'd probably be better.

And how every racing game is now placed against Forza? Puh-lease. Every game has its flaws, and Forza is no perfection. No game is, not even Gran Turismo. The people will always find a useless problem and amass a group of haters. It's not fair.

But, see, I've never played Forza. So maybe I should just keep my big, GT spewing mouth shut.

^^Yeah, right.^^

Exactly what I'm talking about! No game is perfect, and this site must've been on drugs doing the review. I'm saying this because Forza 4 will be better than 3, and GT5 will be better than 4. Only case in a racing game that the next was not as good is GT2 compared to GT3. But that's in my opinion.

Oh, I've played many a sequel that sucked worse than the first one. It happens more often than you think. Which is sad...'cause making a sequel isn't hard. you take what made the first game good and add more features to make it better. Sadly, some companies struggle with this concept.

It is an incredibly stubborn series, steadfastly refusing to follow GRID and DiRT 2's lead and sticking instead to its own idiosyncratic ideals.

The first is that the simulation of driving is as excellent as ever under normal conditions. Cars have a tangible level of grip, which is different for all the cars I tried.

The physics are still GT's own brand.

That is all I needed to read. I don't want GT Grid Edition or GT Dirt Edition. Heck, I don't want Forza Motorsports.

All I want is Gran Turismo, and I am not alone. Thankfully, KY and PD understands this concept.

With the physics - I find it amazing that video game sites and fans around the net all voice themselves as self-appointed experts in the physics of cars. I'll trust Kaz and his racing experience (for example) thank you very much.

The problem with this, is that even if we got a "real GT" person to review the game, it'd have to be an utterly perfect review to satisfy most people on this board. Throw in a complaint or two, and the review will be considered worthless because, well obviously, the guy just unfairly hates GT.

That being said... that review did leave a lot to be desired!

I don't feel like driving occasionally with assists is some kind of "proof of noob" or anything though; if people who review and race cars for a living in real life keep assists on at some times (I'm looking at you, Evo magazine), I think it's fair that somebody might want to leave them on in the game when they don't want to have to be focusing on corrective lock all the time and just want to get as much info from their limited time with the game as possible.

The guy who wrote the article is confused b/c why would racing games want to follow the path of GRID & DiRT?

Umm, because GRID and DiRT are racing games? They may not be simulations, but they are definitely racing games.

Hell yeah:tup:

Thanks for the article. I do not know why would anyone compare it with arcade racing games  The guy doesn't seem to be a fan of the franchise or understand what GT is supposed to be

He wanting to set TC higher than 5 tells everything about the value of his opininon to us.

Yeah I know they're racing games, but he was saying they were good racing games. In my opinion the only good thing about DiRT & GRID was the damage.

Well for arcade racers they are pretty good. Right at the top really.

But I get your point, they are very different games. I'm on the same page. Don't really understand what he was trying to accomplish by comparing them to GT5. Maybe he was talking about features, but even if he was which features they have that GT5 doesn't? I'd say apart from the damage, which is still underwhelming from what PD have shown up until now, and weather which is still unconfirmed, all the other features are present in GT5 in equal to much better level with GT5 having many not present in Grid or Dirt.

So, I'm still confused

While you have a fair point, let's face it, you don't go about judging simulators with assists on. Since it's exactly what he did, I have a hard time believing he knows what he is doing.

No kidding, and he kinda implied that GT5 wasn't the ultimate game everyone has been waiting for after 5 years....not sure how he could really tell from a small demo consisting of a tiny % of what the full game will offer. He knocks GT for paving its own path and sticking to its own unique formula? Also not sure why he was hinting that GT5 doesn't really live up to the hype but the only real thing he complained about was the 3D part?

 GT5 doesn't follow games like Grid and Dirt 2, it leads the way
So true.

How hard is to realise that the physics are different from GT4 ,there is a massive difference.
Huge difference between GT4 and GT5P physics, and even the GT5 TT demo physics were noticeably better than GT5P. Not sure how he comes to that conclusion. Hard to take the guy searious after he said that. Like someone else said, I would leave the physics to Kaz, a guy that races real racecars around real race tracks.

Agreed. 👍 Damn I cant wait for GT5 went to best buy and the 3D TV are amazing! I am saving up til Nov
I was just at BestBuy today, (we got a 55" LED Samsung ultra thin) and was checking out the Sony 3D tv, they played the Motorstorm 3D demo and I must say I was very, very impressed. Now take GT5's graphics and cockpit view and add 3D :drool:. The only bad thing regarding 3D, I usually can sit and play games for 5 hours at a time, I don't think I would be able to handle doing that in 3D, it would give me too much of a headache, not to mention brain tumors/cancer it will cause 10 years later
Well they, GamesRadar, give a perfect 10 to Forza 3 so ...
And yet he said he would rather play this small GT5 demo than boot-up their perfect 10/10 reviewed game?

Even GT5p physics are way better than GT4!!

I would go that far and say that GTPSP physics are better than physics of Prologue on same compound when playing on D-pad input.

Article is fair, guy has his right to have an oppionion, only downside is that somebody actually gave him a space to publish that oppinion as an objective one, while he's very subjective throughout the lines.

My favorite part remains his noticable 15-years experience in 30fps area - it is always nice to have expertise of such trained eye.

Whatever :)

What i don't understand is how can someone have an objective review (opinion) on the game only from demo, where a lot of things are limited, and will be shown when the game is released. This reviewer should stick to reviewing (making opinion) GRID and NFS.

How can he say that he would rather play gt5 demo over Forza3 when they reviewed F3 and gave it a 10 (Incredible). Now i know that incredible stands for a load of money they got from M$.

To be honest, it really doesn't matter what they are writing cause the game will be great and i know that i will enjoy it.

^^^ I don't think he said it was a review.

I read this yesturday afternoon. The main thing I took away from the "preview" was that the guy writing the article didn't really seem to know how to actually "preview" the game.

He mentions other "racing" games, which yes in a sense they are racing games which happen to feature cars.... But he doesn't see the bigger picture.

It would be like if I wrote a preview on F1 2010 from a demo and said that I think Dirt was better because it has more variety..

The main thing that makes a good previewer/reviewer is that they can see what sub category fits a certain genre. Which I didn't get from the Gamesradar write up.

I think he did put across some good points but... he seems to forget that not all racing games fit into a specific category. Its not ridge racer, its gran truismo...💡
