I wouldn't count on that, we still don't know what exactly to expect from GC. I think that we won't see a huge media blowout yet, just like at E3, because PD should still be working on the game.
But I hope I'm wrong, of course :D
 
I feel that since the Gran Turismo series is biggest in Europe (popularity and sales that are greater than japan and us combined) that Polyphony SHOULD pull out all the stops and give us a final code, just with a few bugs and glitches that should be ironed out by TGS. Then in October go gold.

Haha right, I forgot that ...but Gamescom is not nearly as popular as E3 so it'll depend on the information Sony is willing to share tomorrow, whether GTP will survive this time. If we see anything spectacular like weather, go-karts or a track editor then yes, GTP won't last long :lol:

More precisely, they're promotional renders introduced prior to the release of actual gameplay screenshots, which utilize Gran Turismo 5's graphics engine; the PSP version looks nowhere near the standard of those images.

Some people still think they did send out those images as something to hype GTPSP graphics? Seriously? They are just promo shots for the car itself, being the cover of GTPSP and all.

And Forza? ... the screen does not scream anything about Forza, if you ever come to any situation like that again, just pay close attention to the color accuracy and lighting.
If that isn't enough, then check the head\tail lights.

The Tesla Motors Facebook page has confirmed that their battery powered electric sports car will feature in Polyphony’s Gran Turismo 5.

“Starting in November,” it says, “you can drive the Tesla Roadster in the newest Gran Turismo. Thanks to Sony Computer Entertainment for the next best thing to a real-world test drive.”

“Why burn virtual oil when you can burn virtual rubber instead?” asks the page. The award winning, rather beautiful two door roadster, which outputs 248 hp, gets to 60mph in 3.7 seconds and can manage 120 miles per gallon.

We’re assuming it’s one of GT5′s ‘premium’ cars, of course, given the high profile of the vehicle.

The majority of people who visit game-specific sites like GTPlanet are a little more obsessive-compulsive than the millions who briefly glance at general videogame news everyday, via: Kotaku/IGN/Gamespot, etc.

GTPlanet is going to get hammered! Hopefully Jordan and his electrofarm are up to the challenge. 👍

Just to say:
The car has got a 56 kWh (kilowatts-hour) battery pack. Its motor has a 215 kW maximum power.
This means that if we were to run the car at full power, batteries would only last for 56 kWh / 215 kW = 0.26 hours = 15 minutes 36 seconds. This is the worst case scenario, assuming that batteries are fully used to 0% without any drop in motor power output.

This seems enough for most shorter races in Gran Turismo, we'll see if energy consumption will be accurate in longer ones or Test Course runs.
 
You would indeed lose a lot of time when using a Tesla in an endurance race and having to recharge it during pitstops if they replicated it accurately.......
 
It seems Sixthaxis is just as informed on cars in general as it is about GT itself...

Are you serious? That's quite a serious thing to be pretending like that. It's one thing for them to rig their challenges and whatnot but to pretend a car has flaws it actually doesn't...

Well, if true that's quite an eye opener. Won't look at Top Gear the same way I used to anymore.

If you read the whole story, it's pretty much a bunch of TV viewers making a whole bunch of fuss over nothing. They illustrated what would happen when the car did run out of juice, not once did they actually say that it did when they tested it.
