It appears that way... Someone mentioned yesterday that there was no damage in his demo. But I can assure you it was real time damage and smudges. Sadly, for some reason the damage was not shown during the replays! (at least for the ferrari 458 Italia) The car looked in perfect condition while i was crashing against other cars

The one I went to is between Shemale Rd and Armytrail rd 👍 They deff have it there and there was NO people waiting :) i got to try it all by myself haha

To anyone going to Best Buy and not finding GT5 demo in the PS3 booths, try the PS button and try lookin for it in the XMB!

I tried a location here in Michigan yesterday...no luck yet. I'll probably check a couple times next week too...though not everyday. I could just picture the security camera guy's reaction after seeing me walk in 5 straight days (hypothetically), walk to the ps3 booth, and walk out :dopey:

I've commented on this in another thread.. but I will again. That Damage on that Lambo looks effing hefty doesn't it!? I mean seriously.. We haven't yet seen damage to that extent. See PD are so sneaky and love to surprise us and tease us. I'm sorry but I have to be honest PD remind me of my ex girlfriend during "bed" time - Such a tease but you love it.

Aye, a great big gaping tear/hole right in the bonnet like it's made of paper, very realistic... It's nice to see something more dramatic, but I'm really not that impressed with what I've seen so far regarding damage. It's almost like they tried to make it so realistic that they went too far into uncanny valley.

That's where I was thursday.
 
One thing that immediately struck me about those Lambo pics is that it's not denting like a metal car.. it's shattering and splitting like carbon fiber should. I'll have to go run some wrecks in Forza to see how it handles carbon fiber bodies.

Thats what I was impressed with, this new damage we have seen is EPIC!!!!!!!!

Damage looks very good, but if not mechanical damage is equaly detailed then I will be dissapointed. IMO mechanical damage is much more important.

But the bonnet of the LP570 is not made of carbon, right?

Carbon fiber bodies in fm3 get dents, they don't shatter.

It would make sense if it was but I don't think it is. Otherwise why would companies sell OEM look CF hoods if the car already came with a CF hood from the factory. Doubt anyone with a yellow gallardo wants to drive a yellow gallardo with a bare CF hood.
 
IIRC, the LP570's hood is indeed carbon. But the car in the game is the LP560, which is aluminum.

Which best buy is it exactly? Which streets? I live in bloomingdale and theres numerous best buys here. If i can see that gt5 demo im willing to record some videos for you guys. I'll bring my 5d mark ii if i have to!!!!

Don't feel bad, it's the best typo I've seen in a while, the last one being made by a British newspaper and involved the word "large hadron collider"...;)

Those damage pics on the other hand are a very pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting this, after seeing the latest video's. 👍
 
I hope those damage pics are no fake pics :)

You remember the renault clio damage pic from last year? That was faked really good and was a big thing on the whole GT community... I wonder about, did PD seen that fake pic and thougt "damn that looks good, thats our goal for damage"... I also liked the deformation of the "wall" in that fake pic...

Army trail and Springfield. There's a big strip mall with a walmart, best buy, target. Opposite side of the street from Stratford mall.
I went to the dundee location and still nada.
 
I don´t know, I´m a Photoshop noob so this looks really good for me :) But the PS pro´s see the things that were faked...

Yeah, the glass just looks like the scribbling of a three year old let loose with an orange crayon.

Surprisingly not a lot of effort! The damage here seemed to be more "sensitive" plus It took me about 2 head on collisions against the barrier at approx 140 mph to get it to look like that :)
EDIT: And after 1 more crash the lambo "emblem" dissapeared!!! maybe fell to the ground or something :drool:

It is definitely looking better. I hope that we will someday get the Eddie Griffin, Ferrari Enzo treatment. Poor guy...I wonder if he is on a Ferrari "do not sell to" list.

Or a "do definitely sell to" list as he would need to replace his car more often or pay handsomely for the repair work......
 
Funny to see how people are starting to get excited about damage. Did anyone really expect the final damage model to look like the one shown last year at Gamescom?
