did anyone notice this ?!

notaiasasc.JPG

sorry if old ! but i didn`t see these details in any game !
I did actually haha just didn't mention it :ouch: but it just shows how much detail there's in the game 👍

Well if you look closely at the bottom left corner on the Clio V6 windscreen in Prologue you see exactly the same thing.
And how old is Prologue now?

nope they are actual models. And forza don't use tesselation.

1 Mln poly cars hand crafted

It uses tessellation >_>... trust me. Photomode and showroom renders the 1 million polys. They don't "hand model" all 1 million polys. It's impossible. Most modeling programs have a feature called (or equivalent to) sub-surfacing. If you have the proper vertices, you use this feature to add extra polys/vertices in between each of your hand put vertices to create a smooth effect.

I learned how to use it last year when I was modeling wine bottles / glasses with ray traced effects.

Anyway, that said, it (photomode/showroom) uses that technique to achieve such smooth models.

If Forza's photomode and showroom renders do use 1 million polygons, that would explain why the actual game play looks so much worse than all the renders have shown. That said, there are some things about it that 1 million polygons can't change. Like crappy looking waterfalls and things like that.

Sorry,but what detail is this??

This is the windshield/window manufacturer's information that you can see on all glass of every car in the streets... even PD is putting that details into their car design...

Next time you are in a real car, you will notice it ;)

EDIT:

Regarding Chase Cam:
Whoever did, I am glad. Bumper cam gives little to no feedback, so for those using a pad (So no force feedback) it is very useful as it gives a lot of visual feedback.

Cockpit cam is preferable, but Bumper cam is pretty much a no-no unless you're using a wheel. In my opinion of course.

About the Tire/PP argument, I think that in both online and offline gameplay, there will be tire restrictions as there was in GT4 and in some parts of GT5P. But because the races are generally quite short (i.e. < 10 laps) the difference in the tire life is pretty much irrelevant, so they have to incorporate tire choice into the PP system, otherwise everyone will use R4-5 tires for pretty much every event. There has to be a downside to using those softer tires other than tire life. The only other solution would be to lengthen all races so tire life played a greater role, but then you alienate the casual audience who prefer to run 2-3 lap races rather than 10+.
👍 👍 @ Chase Cam, especially the "fixed" one! I rely heavily on that whenever i play with the Pad. I totally agree with you Seismica. 👍

^^^ What is that, a hole in the window or something ????.
Refer to my above response.

I believe it's code about the car on the window.

Damn, that 370Z really has its passanger window blown out from the impact? If so, wow thats awesome, that would look cool in cockpit view, but seems like it would be hard to show the glass shattering. I also wonder if the sound while in cockpit would change due to an open window. All this is of course if that actually is a broken window.

Nope, the window is there.

I don't think it is. You can see the little wing window above and behind the door, and it looks way different then where the main window is supposed to be. Plus, look around the edges of the window frame. It's all jagged and broken looking, with pieces still hanging on that look like the other windows.

Thats what i was going to say it's clearly not there it has a little glass at the top and the bottom. 👍

It's hard to tell if that's pieces of remaining glass or if it's simply reflections on the glass. Nothing definitive from that angle. It does look like it could be a smashed window from a normal glance, but if you look very closely, it seems to just be a reflection. No glass shards are seen anywhere around the car either. Plus, why would glass be hanging on at the top of the window? Nothing holds it up against the roof so it would simply fall down if it were glass.

Watch the video. You can clearly see reflections moving along the window and that's only possible if the window is there.

Is the passenger side window broken on the 370Z in that photo?

Look at the white lines in toward the bottom of the window going from the left hand side of the window up to the pillar. Looks like reflections to me.
Plus the dent in the RX-7 is a lot larger then the Nissan and it's glass is still there.

It's in Prologue so it's a premium. I expect all the popular Japanese cars to be premium

Yup yup. Anything that's old but a classic/popular car will be a premium model. Hence, the Camaros and the Vettes in the E3 demo.

I am inclined to believe the Countach will be, too. No, not that one on the GT site; the 25th anniversary model.

That still has a great chance to be premium and I believe it will.

You better bank on it!

If you use R4-5 tyres, which GT5 doesn't have, tops out at R3 so far, then you'll lose! Unlike in past GT games, tyres and downforce don't help quite as much as they did. Horsepower, well optimal balance of power and grip wins races now. You'll find people trying to use the lowest grip tyres they can get away with these days to eek out as much power to weight ratio as they can, because it's easier to keep someone behind you in a turn, but on a straight if you lack power, your getting blown away!

Infact having lots of downforce will mean you'll have a really underpowered car, that's why tuned cars don't run as well as cars with no aero using the PP system.

It's in Prologue so it's a premium. I expect all the popular Japanese cars to be premium

If that were true, then all 200 + of them would be Japanese. Especially if ALL the Nissans are being carried over from GT4. 'cause between Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, and Subaru, there are about 200 cars. I don't think ALL Japanese cars will be Premium. some of them might. Maybe a good 50 or so, but not all of them. That would be silly and boring. But, we know the Premiums will come from all corners of the globe. We've got American cars (some with Austrailian chasis), German cars, Italian cars, Japanese cars...heck we're just missing France, Spain, Sweden and Korea.

I'll give you a hint: Koenigseggigseggigsegg!

I said popular japanese cars, not all of them!
You know your STI, your EVOs, RX7, 300zx, 180sx etc

What's important for me is that each car comes as default with the correct tyre type.
In GT4 most non-racing cars came equipped with Sport tyres, which were more similar to semi-slicks than road tyres (road tyres were the N ones. N1 = eco tyres, N2 = comfort/medium class tyres, N3 = performance road tyres) and offered too much grip while cornering and braking/accelerating.

I don't know about GT5Prologue as I haven't played it, but I hope there's some improvement regarding this aspect in the full game.

The tyres don't grip like they used to. Didn't you hear all the complaining about how the cars felt like driving on ice with the 370z in the Time Trial? :)
And that had R1 tyres. Different from GT5 prologue as well

You couldn't get the car to behave like this in GT4 even with N1 tyres on a typical moderately powered FR car! This car used R1s.... just floor it out of a turn and the car snaps sideways. GT4 had arcadey style grip, so control pad users could drive the cars. Pro physics in GT5 will be pretty much unplayable with a pad with powerful cars
You can actually steer the car with the throttle with the new physics, but it isn't easy to pull off

He said the popular ones. So, maybe some lancers, an rx7, a couple of hondas, some mitisbushi eclipse's and, maybe skylines r32, r33, R34, and R35

I'll give you a hint: Koenigseggigseggigsegg!

^I like how every time I watch the show Its time is still popping 1 foot off either end of the board.

(Top gear.. hope thats what you were intending)

Koinegsegg hasn't been confirmed. No one would be surprised if they're in.

Saab might make an appearance now that they're owned by Spyker. There's certainly been a lot of shuffing in the car industry in the past five years.

When I first wrote it, I wrote it normally. Then I wanted to be funny so I edited the post and used the Top Gear pun.

What do you think about my Countach claim? Don't you think the 25th anniversary model will be premium? Obviously it's an iconic car and it seems they would add the more exciting car (25th) into the premium category and leave the other for the standard pile (LP 400).
