I sometimes feel that people only appreciate the cars that have a ridiculous power output. Do we really need 5 high performance cars every month? Just so that people can tune them and blast up and down the Top Gear Test Track, crashing into everyone and everything in sight? I like the Leaf, it's simple, practical and I know barely anybody will take to use it. (Because you can't tune it, and it isn't very fast) - Along with the Beetle, I have been wanting this thing in the game for months, IMO one of the all time great motoring icons. Not too fussed about the Mini, but excited as hell for the V12 Vantage!

Same feelings. First I'll spend an hour with the Beetle, then I'll take on the Aventador and the Aston... :)

Well, I love the Beetle. It's from the 1960's, what else could you possibly want from a car??

Does the new track mean online Drag racing? As on that picture it has several results for different distances.

It could be. But it could also be just for the car testing feature (after all they haven't announced anything about drag racing). But maybe, when they see the feedback here on GTplanet they might include drag racing in a future update.

EDIT: And I quite like the Countryman too, after all there aren't any premium crossovers in the game yet... I wish there was an option in GTAuto to install auxiliary driving lamps. Pretty much every car in the north of Sweden has those, during winter at least. That would make it an awesome car for Chamonix, or even Alaska.

I wonder how much time you will spend on that leaf, Fifo... I'm sure that for most of GT drivers, a car like the Leaf will take dust in your garage in no time, once past the novelty... Seriously there were a lot of more interesting choices for a "balanced" DLC roster: a Kia Forte Koup, A hyundai veloster, a hyundai genesis, a chevy cruze, etc...

Don't assume everyone is like you.

Well, remember how GT was always about different range of cars, from everyday cars like Kei-cars to supercars. You'll be surprised how many people tune these slow cars like Daihatsu Midget or Prius and race them online, seriously. Maybe Leaf is not for me, cause I don't like these electric cars, but I still believe some people will enjoy it.

I wonder if we'll get the new NSX soon...maybe it'll come as a gift, like the GT86 did in the last update/DLC.

Between sparks of genius (Avantador, Vantage, jag LM...) what's wrong in Kaz's head??? we already know that it takes lots of months to deliver ONE car.... and you waste it on deceptions like a "leaf', a "old Beetle" and a maybe the most ugly-ever looking Mini???

Especially when GREAT iconic standards are in need of a premium upgrade (Renault-Alpine, Ruf Yellowbird, R5 Turbo, Lotus Seven, etc...) or when amazing recent powerful beasts are still ignored: Ariel Atom, Audi S5, Gumpert Apollo, ....).

Seems to me like a big waste of time and talent on uninteresting & boring features...

Kaz is all about the classics, hence the addition of the Beetle and the Jag. The Leaf was elected car of the year in Japan and everybody who has driven it say it's the first affordable electric car worth considering.

The Countryman is a car I personally hate, but it's the Mini competing in the WRC, which kinda justifies adding it.

The Aventador is a unanimity, and the Aston is awesome and GT could use some more Aston Martins, so you won't see me complain about any of the cars in this DLC.

If PD charges 10 bucks every month and keeps adding stuff like this, I'll gladly set aside part of my budget to get it!

I'd love a Cruze more than pretty much any car they could possibly add...

Funnily enough, I wouldn't have any of them instead of the Leaf, not that I really care about the Leaf either. But that's what GT has always been about for me; opening my eyes to stuff I'd otherwise ignore.

To all Beetle haters:

This car is an absolute legend. It brought motoring to the masses and was in production for 65 years after its original launch, and has sold about 21,500,000 cars. So, why shouldn't it be in a car game?

i agree +100

i think PD in future updates maybe do some categories
for example
History Dlc cars
or Supercars Dlc
or American Muscle Cars
or European Hatchbacks
or Racing Cars Dlc
and other categories

The beetle certainly does deserve immortalizing in GT5 👍

But then so does the Ford Escort RS1800 Cossack.
And the MG Metro 6R4 International edition.

The Jag is an epic premium to have made it into a DLC list. Older cars seem much more exiting than the new ones for some reason.

I think that its a very balanced DLC format and I think it'll be the model that PD will use from now on:

1 classic car (VW Beetle)
2 modern everyday car (Mini Countryman & Nissan Leaf)
1 sports car (Aston V12 Vantage)
1 super car (Lambo Aventador)
1 race car (Jaguar XJR9)

Looks like an interesting DLC - that will hopefully add to GT5.
We'd probably could all come up with 5 different cars that we'd prefer - but I'm more than happy with the choices, most interesting of the 3 car packs so far ... by far

euro hot hatches already happened (car pack 2)

I'd love it if they created DLC categories, and I'd buy 'em all. The thing is, balanced packs tend to sell better. If you want supercars, you have to buy a historic one too, and this is much better strategically. For that reason, I don't see PD doing separated classes DLC any time soon.

Anyhow, I'm just happy GT is a whole different and
much better game than when released.

That, my sir, is worth at least 2 different year models of the Beetle... I mean c'mon, what other car can live up to those stats?

The FIAT 500, which, for me comes first to mind as a competitor, when talking about the Beetle was built for 28 years and sold 3,7 M times (with all model variations). The 2CV was built for 42 years and sold 8,7 M times (with all model variations).

In GT5, the FIAT is way overrepresented, whereas the higher selling 2CV and Beetle are represented with 1 model only. (Not hating against the Cinquecento, I love that car!)

So, the Beetle well deserves another spot in GT5, being a wonderful car and great piece of automotive history. A real VolksWagen.

I tend to believe there is one more DLC track coming within the next few months. The Spec II boxart says 4 DLC tracks will be available, and since we know this Route X track is the 3rd DLC track in additon to Spa and Kart Space, it stands to reason that one more could be coming as well.

I wonder which Jaguar it will be. The Castrol car would seem fitting with the 24 hours of Daytona approaching.

And Space Empire gets the award for best intro to GTP.

And I'm more excited about the beetle than the rest.

I love look through the last couple of pages when so many people instantly assumed photoshop. Cheers to Space Empire.

The update and DLC look fantastic, the best DLC yet by far car-wise - it is well balenced and the variety is great!! I will definately be buying and enjoying this! :D

I was hoping for that too, but it's described as the 'Jaguar XJR-9 LM Racecar' - which is the same as the one we already have.

There were two variations of the Kart Space track I & II. Add Spa and Route X and you have your '4'
