I have a quick question, do you think Morrison AM will be classed as an American Tuning company in the Final game that you can buy parts for any one of your Corvettes and the such? Just seeing as the that C1 Corvette in there.

Dude, we wont know until the game comes out. Its seems like a logical conclusion but Im not sure if that is a parts shop. I thought the 3G 'Vette was two dudes creation. But I wouldnt know.

My only wish regarding the cars list is that they would get rid of some of the pointless Skyline variants in favor of more European and American performance cars. I'd also like see the race/production car ratio swing way over to the race car side of things. Although the "I want to play what I drive" argument is valid, the race cars are a lot more interesting to me. Additionally, games like Need For Speed offer a lot more car customization options for the production cars; Seems like we need to see the return of "Race Mods" from GT2. So, I'd say, either give me more race cars, or more modifications for production cars.

There's no need to get rid of anything. Just keep adding.
Agreed. While it is fun to go out in performance and race cars for some balls to the wall driving I find myself always returning to the tiny little under power cars and putting them in races where I have to be nearly perfect to win. My overall driving in the game is better because of that. These are the cars that make the game what it is for me. Take that away for more performance and production cars and you might as well have any other racing game out there.

Gran Turismo has always been about all the cars, not just the fast and fun cars. So, if car lists change I want it to be to add. I love having different variations of the same car. While I am not a huge Skyline fan I am a fan of some other models that I have multiple variations of. They are each slightly different in their own way.

Now, if I had to give up one thing to get another I would give up the different variation for a larger variety, but as technology allows more to be added I see no need to remove anything.

Customization I can live without, but with online it may be a nice tool.

"but with online it may be a nice tool."

Forza made me eat those words. The first time you see an Aston Martin with some random animu face, a video game character, porn, a penis, or some derogatory remark. You are going to regret those words HARD.

If they allow teams and private race setups I will rarely ever be racing with non-GTP members.

Now, if I get stuck doing public races all the time then I agree I would rather not have it. I just imagine being able to have team designs and logos and whatnot.

Personally, I'd rather not have it if it means a scarifice of development time that could be put toward more cars, weather, time changes, or damage. On my list of additional features it is last.

I completely agree, however I can only have so much fun with the procution cars, because I feel like I'm going WAAAY TOOO SLOWWW after driving a bunch O' Race cars later in the game. That's why I think you should be able to mod any of the production cars into legit race cars, kind of like GT2's race mod system. In GT4, you can make your own cars compete with race cars, but pretty much only if you can slap a wing on it. That's why I was so dissapointed with cars like the Saleen S7 in GT4. The car has tremendous potential, but without any downforce (can't add a wing), and upwards of 700hp it just feels like you have to brake waaaay too much for every corner. That's when I get frustrated that there's no Saleen S7R in the game.

Not any worse IMO than someone having a clan tag like KKK, or something like that.:indiff:

That's why they should limit the paintshop/decal shop to all colors and paint styles, but only have simple shapes/stripes and letters/numbers so you can create a simple job or a race scheme, without worrying about the stupid anime crap. I'm sure you'd still get the occasional oddity/derogatory design but this way it would reduce it considerably.

Frankly I think that's not very good reasoning.

Do you refuse to go out for fear you might see something offensive? Or home school rather than go to school? Or refuse to watch TV or movies completely? Or listen to the radio? You might as well live in a padded cell.

Seeing as the world at large is infinitely more offensive than anything you'll see on the side of a race car, I think some of you are being arbitrary at what you find tolerable and not thinking things through. Actually, I think this is simply the "Fast n Furious" argument rebadged.

The beauty of GT is that it has variety and that allows anyone looking for anything in particular to be able to play.

I agree, GT2 gave the feeling of being a privateer getting into racing. In fact, my favorite cars had a race mod and a production version in my garage. I would have done it with every car I owned, but the garage was too small. The GT4 garage was big enough, but oh well.

I would prefer race mods over wings just because it makes a difference between looking like a Fast and Furious racer and a professional privateer racer.

But I think that allowing a good customization shop would only create a small issue with the immatures. Honestly, the guys that are purposely trying to make their car appear offensive are likely going be the same guys purposely wrecking others. As we already have a GTP blacklist for those guys in Prologue, I bet an offensive imagery blacklist wouldn't be unheard of.

But as I said, everyone reading this is part of a community that would want to keep things fair and clean. I can guarantee that if you race with GTP members you will not see much this behavior or look. This will be especially true if we can get teams and then Jordan can blatantly say that anyone wishing to use a GTP reference or anyone wishing to be on a GTP team cannot have anything offensive on their car.

I think this thread's getting off topic, this is the MASTER car list, not a WISH list. And by the way, I was very happy to see the Z06 C6 in there now- what an awesome car. Can't wait to start playing GT5 if that kind of quality of car keeps going in. (And by quality I mean something you can love- not necessarily something fast)

do think any of these cars will be featured: Lambourghinis, Koininzegg, ferrari enzo, you know all the really fast supercars everybody wants on GT but they never put in.

(sorry for such bad spelling of the car brands)

Two Ferraris aren't enough for you?

By the way, we have a spell checker built in if you are that worried about it.

Let's get this thread back on topic. This is for discussing cars in Gran Turismo 5 which are found or confirmed.

Speculation needs to go elsewhere.

not even close, when you consider the impact the company's had on racing over the years. Callaway had two cars in GT4, and although they're very cool cars, they've had nowhere near the impact on racing as Ferrari. Although I'm very stoked that they're finally in the game. Just my $.02

Thanks, PD, but what have you done for me lately?

First, people complain about no Ferraris, now it is not enough.

More goes into this than just PD deciding what cars they want in the game.

Didn't Polyphony Digital say that Gran Turismo will have every single Ferrari car?
Ever or current?

Ever, then definitely no. That would be way too many cars.

If just current models then that is possible, but I haven't heard it if they have.

I think he said that, but I am not 100% sure. I don't have the best memory.
Maybe not ever, but current models and a few older ones.

i just think that what GT has alwaysed missed is popular supercars, after all its a super car racing game and not many people have even heard of alot of the cars. I think now is the time, with the new ps3 graphics and its other abilities they should include all the cars you can get on NFS like lambos ect. maybe the two ferraris are enough for ferraries but not overall, come on out of 750 cars and only two of them you are really looking forward to saving up ur credits for?

This is way off topic and we should probably move this into the various wish list threads. Heck, I know posts in those threads will answer your post.

And so we are witnessing the death of a thread.

The Master Car List is a thread that is invincible, and I also look forward to the Infiniti G37 (G35?) Coupe in the game, I kind of almost like that car.

you guys are funny. the ferrari 355 may make it if sega gets it in there. I dont know if you guys know but sega had a lot to do with ferrari's approval of sony's use of their cars under the "licensing" agreement. In Japan sega was the exclusive ferrari brand licensee, and it seems sega sweetalked ferrari into agreeing (after many monetary exchanges that is). so the ferrari list may grow in the future. oh and sony helped sega on their graphical development on their new soon to be release ferrari challenge.

For the third time, this thread is not for speculation. We have other threads for that. Please go elsewhere.
