What is that pink route attached to Eiger short? Is that Eiger long? If so, looks pretty good to me - even though I like those slow couple of curves (meaning I'd gladly included them in the long version of the track).

i'm so glad grand valley speedway is back. it was always my favorite track to tear up with the f1 cars. the fast turns after the first hairpin are siiiiick.

Obviously GT5 works as GT4 above. Maybe with another parameters different from Days, such as Aspec points, Bspec points, etc.

Half the tracks were unlocked later in the game, and that excluded reverse variations... interesting.
So maybe 60+ unique tracks / 100+ unique variations (excluding weather/time/reverse) could be possible? I hope yes.

A lot more variations should be unlocked but I'd be pleasantly surprised if there are any new real life circuit locations which haven't been revealed yet.* Also I'm expecting a default layout for Eifel and the rest of the course maker environments, no reason why they wouldn't have those in, maybe you have to unlock each environment first?

*GT4 wasn't shy about showing off unlockable courses in the intro, but it could be different this time around.

I was hoping we'd be able to choose any weather and time of day at any venue, but is this not going to be the case?
You probably will be able to, but only in certain events, like with online races you setup. The tracks we see in that movie are the ones currently available for some free driving. And they have fixed enviromental settings (rain/dry; daylight/night; etc).

Finally we got the list
I am ok with it, even though I was expecting some surprise... e.g. Spa, New York or Seattle, some new Nascar tracks or some snow tracks surrounded by trees...

Hey I've just noticed it! It's Beginner... should we expect some track to be unlocked with game progress?

i think so because it was also in gt4 that you had to unlock circuits in arcade mode.

Thank you! I'll keep it

Well fingers crossed that at some point free runs/single races etc can be taken anywhere, at any time, in any weather, even if not immediately.

There is no possibility that the wangan style route, SSR7 has traffic as if it were a real highway, right?

Would be cool but I doubt it!

It does look like a real expressway though if you didn't see it yesterday:

Watch out for the giant floodlights near the start used to light up the toll area, you see one in the intro and other footage of that track.

The real layout is 18 to 19 miles for the full loop, I think even in a supercar going flat out, the lap times will be longer than Nurburgring. Not one for Fiat 500s.

I think PD would probably shy away from the appearance of illegal street racing. Though I loved all the Tokyo Street Racer series.

I still dream about a free roaming mode where the player gets to drive on all Special Stage tracks (possibly more of them than we know) seamlessly, maybe yes, a bit like in the Tokyo Street Racer series, but without the illegal street racing part (maybe without traffic and more "sportsmanship", casual races between players could be implemented in some way?).

Without the traffic it would be just like a closed off street course which would fine for racing or even free roaming. Still hanging on that bit of hope for SSR11. I am thinking that some of those old favorite courses might not be unlocked until further into the game.

hopefully city is one of the track maker themes then on to unlimited wangan style routes...

Meh. Randomly generated courses don't have the same appeal of a network of fixed and highly detailed roads, to me.
Although yes, I see that possible, but not what I'd want, expect or hope.

Hong Kong was an unlockable track in GT4 (see above), so there's still a possibility that it is in.

Really hoping for it =).

Was HK listed in GT4 or was its inclusion a 'secret' (something people found out after they got the game)?

I hope that if they put HK in GT5, it isn't as rough or fuzzy as it was in GT4.

Am I the only one who sees almost a direct imitation of AVUS in SS Route 7?

Hong Kong was a hidden track (not normally selectable) in GTPSP, and also listed among other track reference material list for GT5 on a PD workstation. I think it might be included.

Hmm, good observation! I imagine it will be used in some championships instead of it.

There haven't been any races at AVUS since 1999, yet the track still exists in some fashion (closer looks at a satellite image shows the highway going over/under two u-turns that look banked). It looks like a rubber-band track and when I first saw SS R7 (and after realizing it wasn't a point to point track) immediately thought of the only other rubber-band track, AVUS.

I'm really concerned that Midfield isn't on that list :/

I know that's not all the tracks, and that more will unlock...but Midfield REALLY seems like a track that would be in the initial offering, it's a GT standby.

It was always my favorite track :(

Q: Given that the Loop Bridge in Cape Ring has very similar road speed markings to the Kawazu Loop Bridge, does this mean that Cape Ring can be considered to be set in Japan?
