Hello people of GTPlanet. I want your opinions on the new photo stream, will you ever use it and ever visit the stream itself? In my honest opinion i think its a bit of time wasting. Ok, so you can share for other people to see but we have it here too. I know you may think of this as another moaning thread but I'm not moaning, I just want peoples opinion on it and if this thread is pointless then by all means lock it

I believe many ppl won´t use it because It kind of loses the personal relationship to the photo, because you don´t only show it to everybody but by it beein anonymous anybody can take it (from Photo Stream site) and post it somewhere else claiming it was his/hers. Unfortunately a Photo from GT5 (without beeing shopped) does never belong to you but to Sony.

I myself, don´t care and use the Stream. Not a good photographer anyways.

that's exactly it, those who feel they are good photographers will be less inclined to anonymously share their work so you'll have to imagine photos on the site that have been shared are not going to be the best but I've not seen what the site has to offer yet so can't really comment, to be fair if I do look at the site it will only be to see if I can find the picture I shared.

Didn't the Asian photo streaming cause issues?

Problems arose at that time, but the source has never been proven.

Personally, I like Photo Stream. Great way to kill time.

For what I have seen comparing the Asian/Japanese with the American and European Streams it appears to me that: The majority of people from America and Europe see it just the way we described.

The Asian´s had some awsome pictures in there, tho!

PD really should add the psn-ID´s to the photo´s!!!

I'm a mediocre photographer. I like to show off the good photos I do manage to take. For me, the Photo stream isn't in the cards. My PSN ID or anything will not be tagged to it. So I'm going to agree with Flaco.

But would you still share them if your ID was tagged to it?

That's a big 'if'. It really depends on how much I value the photo. If I could add my own watermark before sending it to photo stream (And you can't), then yes.

Most of my really good photos never leave the PS3. Very few have hit GTP forums. I'll most likely do 1 or 2 decent photos I'm not to worried about just to try it out.

What do you mean by 'setup'?

Set up/ or adjust the Camera.

Now I got the right photos I wanted to show you, you see the difference. Ryan has this effect of speed showing aswell as the ground next to the cars rear appear slightly blurred on his photo

Use Mode 3. Mode 2 adds more blur outside of f-stop.

It would be better if you could view photo stream from within GT5 as well, rather than just a web browser, as well as manually refresh the photo list.

Sometimes it´s so easy! Now I could re-do about 200 Photos, lol. Would keep me busy till GT6 I guess, lol.

Thanks man! Thing is never touched the Mode´s, because I didn´t know what they were for, stupid huh? Thanks again

It's those simple things that slip past sometimes.
I didn't start using the Photo Mode until after I had owned GT for about 6 months.

Even though your a photographer you didn´t? wow

Although I have made tons of Photo´s I could have done better knowing about the Mode´s, I say I like the way PD handled the in-game camera mode. It´s tricky for none-photographers like me and It´s pretty close to a real camera compared to other games where you adjust all things by slide bars.

I personally see no use for it, no.

I didn't realize how powerful GT's camera was until I started playing with it. I'm only a novice in real life.

I'll just stick to GTP's photo sub-forum.

Hell no i wont be using it, which is a shame because i was using ONline PHotos to show my friends pics of our races etc.

I dont like seeing a jumble of Pics from random people, id rather come here and explore GTP users personal taste and style.

Piracy has come full circle  we've spent the past 10 years ripping everything off and now the next 10 years will be spent by them ripping us off for free labor\creativity\material.

What if some of these pics make it to Advertising or whatever, theres no royalties no credit, GT owns every photo on the grounds that they are just variables therefore, they have technically Taken every possible Combination of Shots, just by creating Photo Mode.

We're basically "discovering" shots, rather than composing them.

I see PD doing something with this in the future. If you don't take photos then obviously this is not for you. For the photographers I can see PD having a little competition and using this Photo Stream to appoint a winner.

I already uploaded a picture of the new star of the game. The Corvette ZR1 RM and it's new sound sample. I don't see any advantage or disadvantage with this feature.

however I don't know how this thing works. There are only a couple of pictures available. I think they just post them for a couple of minutes and then erase them.

Yesterday I set a few pics to online. Then went and found the website and made a tile for it on my iPhone. Easy to make it an app for yourself. Now it's a great time killer! Some pics are great, some are ridiculous! I love all things GT.

I have already seen 2-3 of my pics I shared on the site. Seems they refresh pretty quick.

I've been enjoying it today and yesterday. It is kind of a chore to use it, refreshing and rechecking. Easier and faster access would be nice. Access on the PS3 (in game) would be nice, like as a demo mode or slideshow at the main menu.

One thing I like about it is its an alternative way of getting pics from a PS3 to a computer, which is silly I know, but i'm lazy. I was going to load some of my pics on my computer at work, if I can find any.

I rarely use photomode in GT5, mainly because I lack the skills compared to what people can get out of it, so I put myself as a spectator. And I like being a spectator to the photos you find in the GTP Photomode sub-forum, I daily get a dosis of awesome photos from the two threads, The Realistic Photos Thread and the Artistic Photo thread plus some user albums.

I know the daily dosis have a great affect on me, its kind of stimulating my interest in gt5 where I to this day I keep finding amazing combos of colours, models, and auto parts, which I use to inspire me and my own garage of favourite cars in GT5, which I maintain and drive almost everyday.

So, as for the above reason, I like the idea of Photostream, no doubt. I like having it as a window open on my computer on slideshow mode while I do other stuff. I use the subforum more though. Not sure if its able to overtake or get better then the subforum - but when that is said, I dont think the Photo System on a forum structure like GTP is very good - but does the job 👍 - I think Jordan once talked about some kinda of photo tag system to GTP, hoping still its in the plans and get realised with a nice viewer.

However, a bit offtopic, its quite sad that they haven't optimized the pictures, I'm no picture expert, so I don't know what it is they haven't optimized, but the pictures doesnt look standard crisp/sharp, but soft and blurry. That can't be on purpose right? Hope they fix it one day.

Eh. I don't care either way. If Sony want to use my photos for other stuff then good on them I guess.

It's not really my thing. In my opinion, they could have put their efforts into something else. However, if there was a livery editor, maybe I would be more inclined to use photo mode. Just my opinion.

PD has no idea what they're missing not adding a livery editor to the game. There are artists all over the world too you know.
