Lol not sure now.

I question physics.... Then went on to say I could do sub 7.10.000 track time in lfa... Which I done but using wrong tyres.... Errrr so its turned into a sort of competition.

In all seriousness though any changes to the physics couldn't have been that great... They wernt even worth mentioning on the main website.

I won't say it's impossible for you to run since I don't know of your skill level, but Timppaq is being very humble about this with you. Just FYI.

But since it literally has nothing to do with the new physics, I'll get back to physics update and what did/didn't change now. ;)

Make sure it's the lap driven with Sport Hard tyres, just to be clear. Was your engine fully broken in?

I have tested my basically tuned Enzo for LeSarthe Festa Cavallino Seasonal and there is no way I can win the race now - I used the same car I was winning with prior to S2.0 -because of the overall effects that physics are displaying now.

That's interesting, so basically your times are worse now in that particular combo? How big is the time difference?
 
My times for Le Sarthe Festa Cavallino Seasonal are now quicker then before 2.0 update.

My Enzo is only equipped with Racing Softs (can't seem to remember if those are even allowed in this seasonal, but if not, then i'm using the max permitted in tires) and the problems i felt before 2.0 when entering a corner are now completely gone!

I never tune my cars - call me lazy... - and so i'm guessing they really did something deep with car physics.

Before 2.0 i was able to do a 3'20.xxxs on my best laps (cutting corners for the sake of getting credits faster) and now, even with some mistakes on the chicanes, i'm able do do 3'18.5xxs and 3'19.xxxs are easy.

To me, the updated physics are good.

The lap I initially done was with SS tyres. Shall do SH tonight. And send both files to ya!

So he did the lap with sport hards and only took him 1 second more to do it than you in your super lap with super sports... whos laughing now?

In your next run ont forget to use a broken in engine it could really make a diference...

On topic- does anyone know if the ride high bug has been corrected. (Low front - undesteer - hight front oversteer)

Sorry but I'm not sure whats to be laughed at :odd: . I chose the wrong set of tyres and done the lap in 7mins 7 seconds! Roughly three seconds faster than the time he posted in Hard tyres.
 
So I had my first experience online after the 2.0 update. And to top it off I was in a good room with a very clean racer.

We had Ferrari F40's at LeSarthe chicane and had a blast. I don't remember this before but, when I started braking really hard before the first chicane the car felt so twitchy under heavy braking, at any moement I thought the front it was just gonna lock up. It felt like the car was pulling from side to side. If this is the upgraded physics I am liking it.
 
As crazy as it may sound, if you want to spot the differences in "balance" and "flow" of the suspensions, take a lap in the X2010....

Or go to Eiger, and do the seasonal drift event. The differences in "dirt" tracks is amazing.

The change is subtle, but that how PD works. I still think that you need a wheel to feel it properly. I´m driving with an DFGT.
 
Still, FF hot hatchbacks with normal tires (comfort soft, or sports hard tires at most) don't lift their inside rear wheel when cornering hard. The suspension model in GT5 has probably been improved in a very general way, but key characteristics of certain cars aren't correctly reproduced yet.

One thing that bugged me about GT5 was the Sebastien Loeb Chamonix event. I retried this last night and couldn't get a clean lap in after 5 tries (I did gold it previously). I tried the same track with the same car with real loss of grip in practice mode and got a time some 40s faster than gold. Why are they so much different? Did Loeb think that slipperier was more realistic and everything else is dumbed down? Did Loeb just happen to "visit" Chamonix when it was icier? 40s is a long long time.

I'd like someone to comment on the drafting. The weak draft seems to be a lot better especially when cars are more spread out but I'm not sure when cars are grouped together such as the start of a race at DSS. I tried a race at DSS with some friends. Standing start, I started in second but I had a good start so soon got into first but before the end of lap 1 everyone behind me came flying past so I was quickly near the end of the pack. I don't know if this is realistic or not but the draft seemed awfully powerful. Has anyone who is familiar with oval racing tried it out in spec 2?

What would be interesting is to check the tire load indicator to make sure that a least the inside rear wheel gets fully unloaded.

He is just making fun of your comment where you said how certain feature of GT5 - which exists in the series from the first 1997 game and is very foundation of the overall ownership/maintenance philosophy of Gran Turismo - is not portrayed in the game.

You have to be careful on this forum you know - many of us here are very knowledgeable about issues we tend to discuss ;)
 
I notice two things in 2.0, first the lateral rebound of tires, are some kind like GT4, wich is a good thing IMO, and second, the tires are less grip OR the car has more inertia, i thing is the second one.

I'm aware the feat has been in the game since the dawn of time. I'm just saying I find it pretty pointless... Almost as pointless as being able to wash the cars lol.

But thats just my opinion.

I believe this is possible in iRacing, if I recall correctly. Would very cool if PD could achieve this. đź‘Ť

I already checked. No chance with normal (stock) tires. There's always some load under on the rear inside tire under steady cornering conditions.
 
I just did a run with my Lancia Stratos,it was tuned pretty nicely,or so i thought.

I just tried it out on nordschliefe and the thing was scatty as anything,terrible lift off oversteer and general twitchiness into the corners,so i had to tune it around and try to fix it,now its running smooth as anything and feels great(and fast) to drive so something has definately changed i guess for the better?

A feeling of twitchiness and lift off oversteer in a killing machine car like the Stratos is something very Welcome ! :D

It´s nice to see something like that. And much more if you thing that it was because of your settings, and that later you could "fix" it :).

I wonder if FM4 is going to have such level of "sane criticism" regarding the driving model....
