GT5 Pre-Order Bonuses?

I will ask the sony rep at the BB store today what strings I have to pull to get that 787b at a later time... I messed that one up before and allowed some people to get excited... my bad.... but I also don't trust trading the cars quite yet... some little child ruined it for me online one day as he didn't turn my account off on his system when I shared, that was the end of sharing for me, one stupid person decides to be an a$5.

We are lucky we have 5 activations... I will be buying the track guide in 1 hour if anyone has questions.. I am sure somebody already has it up though..

So I gave up on my 787b dreams and just pre-ordered at best buy. The thing is I didn't see the GTR bonus mentioned anywhere. I asked about it and they said to show up early on release day because they are limited, implying they are giving them out at launch, however ive read other places online that at best buy you are suppose to get a pre-order box with a code inside.

I'm slightly worried, are you suppose to get your code before launch at best buy?

Good luck, I used to work there and they are the worst at pre orders. Even though you preorder i would suggest getting there early. As for the car, it's packaged with the pre order box. The Sunday of the week the game comes out best buy pulls the pre orders and destroys them so they won't over sell any copies, so chances of you getting the car are slim.

Don't tell me that! I pre ordered from bestbuy.com and am assuming they will give me the code/voucher whatever when I pick up the game. If they do keep physical preorder boxes with codes in them only they must handle online orders differently somehow, at least I hope.

Am planning to go Wednesday morning anyway but now I don't know what to expect when I show up. At least the game itself better be there.

You get 3 Stealth cars from here if you preorder the CE, plus the 5 Chromeline cars, cheaper as well. JB HiFi have dropped the ball.... time to cancel preorder!!!! With 3 of the better cars from the Stealth pack and keyring as well 👍

The same happened to me.
I preordered but I didn't recived the box. The cashier keep it. And I felt something moving inside the box (now I know it was the code).

What can we do to get the car?

Best Buy and BestBuy.com believe it or not are two different stores. Any issues that were brought to the store from bestbuy.com were turned around right away and were referred to 1-888-bestbuy. Since you ordered it from bestbuy.com, its possible that they may email you a code for the car.

They seemed to have taken off the offer for the car on bestbuy.com, it only shows the offer for the standard version and not the ce version. But when you click on the standard version under special offer its not there anymore.

That thing moving inside the box was indeed the code for the car. I would suggest calling or asking for a box immediately, some stores are lazy and probably still have the boxes on the floor. You can even just walk in there and take them.

While it does cost $5.00 to preorder, any remaining preorder boxes are just junked out and thrown away (they have no value to the store). Its not like they send them back to Sony to get credit for any of the preorders that were not sold.
 
ok, i know the video is simply other gt videos cut together but it gave me somethign i like to now call "the gt shiver"

I picked gamestop cause they had free overnight shipping and you get 2 free cars. My only reasons.

same for me. Although they have charged my card, it says backordered under order status. Not to mention it says 1-2 business day to receive even though I had free overnight shipping. With upcoming Thanksgiving I may not get it till Fri or Mon? If thats the case, I will preorder from best buy, still get the free bonus cars and the two from Gamestop, then return the unopened collectors edition I get from gamestop to best buy and get my money back. Sounds like a plan huh??

Preorder from best buy in which it cost $5 to do so you get a special preorder box indicating you have reserved a copy there. I opened quite a few of those fake boxes and got a few nissan gtr 500 codes so those who wants a nissan gtr 500 trade me and I will give you the code

Was there one of those boxes for the collectors edition? Does it have the code? bestbuy never got back to me if the collector edition preorder has the code.

I also canceled my order weeks ago. The 2 cars are not worth the $7 in taxes from GS. So amazon it was plus my credit from Black ops made the game $40 and I get another $10 credit to get the TRACK GUIDE for free.
 
The best buys near me are completely clueless. I asked an employee today if he remembers a display with preorder boxes and he didn't so i'm hoping i'll get it on release day.

Another weird fact, there is nothing about gt5 anywhere in the store. the preorder is buried in a touch screen info monitor. The demo is buried on a tiny monitor and is shared with like 12 other game demos, where as need for speed hot pursuit and some roockband game have their own dedicated big screen demos and displays.

Call of duty something has a big display with lots of stuff about preorder bonuses and stuff but there was absolutely nothing for GT5, it was kind of weird. After I found the demo by exiting our of mod nation racers on the tiny demo screen I had a few people come up and go "oo is that gt5" like they couldn't find anything either.

You mean Activision and EA have paid extra for their own dedicated floor space? No way!

Fact is, it's always like this. I bought GT4 off the shelf the day it came out and I walked in to no advertising, just a whole large section of the video game shelves full of discs.
 
@Zaibas how did you activate your code? I wrote it in the redeem thin on PS-store with no luck. How did you do it?
 
I just got an e-mail from gamestop to redeem the stealth McLaren and Gamestop stockcar but when I punch in the code I could only download the stockcar.

Anyone else getting the same issue?

Redeem codes aren't working yet, not all of them at least. I'm assuming the PSN has to "enable" them tomorrow, on release day.

Same here. I don't have the game yet, so can't confirm, but the e-mail said the code was for the McLaren and the NASCAR Camry, then the download (which worked) only mentioned the Camry. "GT5 NASCAR Car" is the name of the download. :(
 
Yes through a PSN EU account it downloads to your HDD and creates a file in you game data folder, I don't have the game yet but from what I'm told when I boot up the game (US version) they will be instantly be in.
