What i want to know is why the hell doesnt PD just come out and say what is in the update......in my business i find it best to tell people what is happening, rather than letting them hang for a month with ifs, buts and maybes.

i love the game, but hate the way they go about things with the people using their product.

Because they are smart?

Forza is coming out shortly and all of the attention will be moving to it. If Polyphony release the spec 2 update shortly after the Forza release it will turn the spotlight away from Forza and back on to GT5, urinate on Turn 10's fire in the process.

But to that happen Spec 2.0 and DLC has to be...something awesome right?
Also, wishlist are interesting, but repetitive and if PD wants to know what community wants they just have to check feedback part of GTP :)

Honestly in my opinion Japan and their feedback have A LOT more influence on the game than what we do here at GTP. Tho there are members from all over the world on here, their aren't many from Japan.

Their style is much different than most other countries. Hell who knows. They probably think the game is perfect, there are 100+ RX7's and Skylines.

Tho i'm sure they yearn for a livery editor just like everyone else..

I like surprises :) But yeah, they can gave at least a hint...

T10 revealed ever BIT of infos on the Discs (at least for cars) and there is no more suprise. If they also blow out the tracks in the next 2 months, we already know everything...

How these guys know what Kaz wants or doesn't want is something I'd love to know.

It's like with everyone else, you know what they want by listening to what they say. Thats all I do when I say this or that person wants anything. That way I can confirm all my statements with evidence.

Y'know what? I'd do it just to piss 'em off.

I'll join you

Thank you for verifying my earlier statements, they still stand solid and no one here has said anything to undermine them so far.

I do understand that the gaming industry moves forward, and copying other games is the way of the business today. But I am going to repeat a previous statement because some accused me of saying things without 'thinking' (read:Fanboy), and I don't do that.

One of the biggets reason I have had for playing every full GT game ever released, is that the GT games were not a bit, but very much unique and different from the competition.

Nevermind that, as has been brought up ad nauseum in regards to the livery "issue"... a simple check box in the options menu to disable custom liveries could make both sides happy. You could be happy with a lineup of identi-cars, and others could be happy seeing their unique creations. Win, and indeed, win.

A livery editor is a likely addition to the series, maybe not with Spec 2.0, but is certainly on Kaz' mind for GT6 (he's said they've looked into it). It's quickly becoming a standard for the genre, and it increases the staying power of a game immensely.

A livery tool in itself has the potential to be a great feature in itself, I agree. But merging it with GT is not automatically a great idea. A button to switch it on or off has the potential to work. But I don't see PD spending all that resources on a feature you can turn off at will, they have far more important tasks ahead of them.

I don't dislike liveries because Forza has them. I dislike liveries because I don't want to see cars like these in my replays:

Ofcourse someone may like what they see here, but I sure don't. Peace. ♥

Oh you still whinging about a livery editor. Far out, as it stands we're not even sure if we will get a livery editor so quit your bitching.

I am not whining. I am seriosly countering the pro livery posts I see flooding this thread.

Authentic race liveries or based one's are fine, - I'd drive a BMW Z4m road car if it had a Red Bull livery like the race version available.

I just object to Fast and Furious wacko vinyls.

If a livery editor comes in it's inevitable we'll see these types of design.
However, sign me up for a livery editor regardless. 👍

Lets have proper/actual race colours for each car, gulf colours, red bull etc.

stupid fast and furious ones for the drifters, but when you enter a normal race (not drift) the stickers fall off. naked ladies for the people that still buy the sun for page 3.

I say he fits perfectly in a 'show off' kinda game.

A serious racing game and him merged, will make wormholes in time. :sly:

We should just get The Stig, nodding for a good motor, walking off slamming the door on bad one.

If there are new tracks they must be free, because the online racing would be ruined if some people had tracks and others didnt. Whats the point of having a new track if you cant race it online. :nervous::sick:

As an aside this game suffers big time from lack of road. There's so many freakin' cars and so few tracks. The track creator is a slap....might as well not have one of the their all in the same 4 settings.

There doesnt really need to be more cars. There's 1,103 cars.

Alot of the tracks are old tracks that we raced at in Gran TUrismo 1. The few real world tracks get old. The Nurburgring and Sarthe are really the only two that dont get old.

Tskuba is another slap....I mean seriously its a little over a mile. Whats the point of having a car and a circuit if your going to drive it around the same 1.4 mile stretch of road.

The game needs SPA, IMOLA, and some other stuff like road america.

Some open highway courses for rallies would be cool. I owned 130 cars for months, I now have 280 or so after buying and buying. The game really does NOT need more than 250 cars max.....I would say the number of tracks should be 90 minimum. Atleast 50 of them should be 5 km minimum. I raced my dog around the living room when I was 7 years old. I'm past that.

Authentic, proper, realistic, whatever, who are you to decide what's proper to use, do you suggest a fashion police function too?
Why limit it to replicating existing designs? That's something I rather leave for PD to do.
I also don't like Fast and Ferocious paintjobs, yet I don't object to people creating them.
Those 'authentic' Gulf, RedBull, etc. liveries on existing racecars were also once created (not replicated) by graphic designers.
Oh yeah, GT has to be realistic so you have to limit those things which are also done in real life...
What also suprises me (actually it doesn't) is the lack of a sense of humour when discussing a livery editor.
Usually there's a lot of immaturity on this forum but when it involves debating the pros and cons of a livery editor a lot suddenly turn into the saviours of morality.
If it's included (which I think it isn't) I'll mostly try to create beautiful things but there's a part of me that also wants to create something goofy or, heaven forbid, funny.
Maybe it's just me but the prospect of witnessing drawn genitalia or any other form of immaturity (which to me isn't the same as being funny btw) isn't that much different than seeing an opponent driving a matte pink car with gold chrome wheels, I'll cringe either way.

ok, your point is? you've more or less agreed with what we said!

More or less isn't the same, maybe I'm wrong and I've misunderstood what you were trying to say but the posts I quoted suggested to me that it should only (or better but, mainly) include the possibility to recreate liveries that already exist.
If that isn't the case I apologize and my 'rant' doesn't apply to your posts but remains applying in general.

Thank you for verifying my earlier statements, they still stand solid and no one here has said anything to undermine them so far.

I fail to understand how me jokingly saying I'd paint boobs on a car just to annoy people like you verifies anything you've said... Perhaps you'd care to enlighten me?

Handpicking a bunch of relatively poor user made liveries doesn't really validate your opinion. I could just as easily pick out a bunch of fantastic paintjobs to prove mine.

I fail to understand

Thank You. You took the words right out of my mouth.

I could just as easily pick out a bunch of fantastic paintjobs to prove mine.

As I said before there are truly great artists out there that can make gorgeous creations. Sadly thou, they are vastly outnumbered by others. :yuck:
