I think you guys have read a little too much into the 'apparent' religious connotations of that particular post.
No, you are/were being quite the mini-Mod, that was what I was referring to.

Anyway guys, if you want news about Spec II hot off the intranets, the place to look for it is in Kaz's tweet thread, the News tab at the top of the boards, Google...

Could you please ellaborate? There are stealth cars in America, I myself own 2.

Several of them aren't available at all here (disc region restrictions seem to ensure that even account sharing won't work), and you could only get more than one at a time if you were willing to barter for codes - the time for that passed long before I had anything worth trading.

I'm talking about something that will make the Chromeline Jag, all the Stealth cars (INCLUDING THAT GT-R), and the GameStop Camry available all at once, to all regions. It doesn't have to be free, just as long as the US region finally has just as much access to them as the rest of the world.

What I am hoping for is better car sounds, that's all I want.
Ear buds or headphones. They help.

That's simply madness. Those are really the only exclusive cars in GT5 and although, "sharing is caring", a lot of people wouldn't like it.

But that's the problem. The concept of region exclusive DLC was a concept that should not have existed, now it's wrong that must be righted.

Realistically, we might just get a revamped menu system, and HOPEFULLY better server browsing and host options. Along with matchmaking. So if we feel like just jumping in quick, we can be matched right away. Only problem is, there is no stats system. So we might get matched a beginner.

As for the whole duplicated cars idea I say it works like this:

Different spec and trim variations count as different cars, i.e.

Nissan Skyline GTR V-spec and Nissan Skyline GTR V-spec II Nurburg'

But the cars which are only 'different' by name and badge should be removed, i.e.

Mazda MX-5 Roadster '89 , Mazda Eunos Roadster '89 and Mazda Miata Roadster '89

What PD should do is put in a system where different regions only have the version with the corresponding name: i.e. Europe = MX-5 America = Miata Japan = Eunos/Roadster. In an online lobby the name of the car's will be displayed based on the version a player is driving but will display in brackets the name of the car in the other players reigions. So say I (who is british) am in a lobby with an American who is in his Mazda Miata '89 the name will be seen by me as Mazda Miata (MX-5) '89 and the American player will see my car as Mazda MX-5 (Miata) '89.

This fairly simple system should kill two birds with one stone as it will cut duplicate cars from the game and also prevent and problems with cars called different things in different reigions! :)

If we get certain cars based on their availability in that region, we can then trade with players from other countries so more cars would be rarer. Like in real life how people can have a car imported from another country that is not available in the states.

That's part of why I play video games in general - so I can do/drive/play/shoot/fly things on the game that I can't in real life. I wasn't a fan of the region exclusive stuff.

If I wanted to be told "You can't have this..." I would just start a conversation with my wife.

Indeed. The preorder content structure in this game was a slap in the face to a significant chunk of the world, and I can't believe there wasn't more outrage when the game was released.

Speaking of which, pre-order content is kind of a scam anyway, since it rewards those who rush recklessly ahead with a purchase and penalizes those who wait to see if a game is good before they buy.

Buy a Japenese copy? Hope for a livery or numberplate editor so you can change it? It would simplify the names for most people though!!

Okay, sorry again for misunderstanding then, personally I'd rather try to come up with something not done before but to each their own.
Although I can't blame you for wanting your garage to look a bit like this.

Apparantly they are all owned by the same German collector.....

No need to apologise, I worded the whole thing wrong I think. Lucky German fellow, plus I now have a new wallpaper on my laptop, thank you very much 👍

No one cares. That's why there was no outrage. So you can't have a chrome car. Big whoop dee doo. It's not a slap in the face. If you don't want the product, don't buy it.

The pre order content is legitimate business. If you buy early, you are paying a higher price. It's also a nice gift to the die hard fans who pre ordered the game. There is nothing dishonest about this. It's not a scam at all.

Sheesh. Some people get angry about the silliest nothings. It's a video game.

I don't get that.

People who rush recklessly ahead and get a poor game are punished.

Those who wait to see if a game is good when it's not are rewarded for there patience.

They should keep them all in the game most of them have the same interior beside the wheel being on the opposite side and small features. Just update them to their premium counterpart.

How about a premium pace car? With a button that can be set to toggle strobes? lol

But seriously, I hope damage is improved, physics and perhaps graphics too... New cars and tracks I do doubt...

What would you think if they reset the XP for everyone and changed it?

Everyone would start at zero. When you finish a race, your get rated based on 3 things:

Position finished at

Cleanliness

Time

So if you finish first, you get the max possible points the race is worth. You finish clean, you get get an addition 500 points. You beat your record, you get 50.

However, you also have a Safety Rating. So the game, and the network will know what kind of driver you are, and if there is matchmaking, you will get matched with people who's stats match yours.

Also, every player will have a certain set of stats:

Safety rating(cleanliness, number of crashes and spinouts):

each time you get a clean race, it adds up, but everytime you mess up, it subtracts.

Racing Style:

What are you best at? Are you a drifter, lemans champion, nascar junkie, kart pro, or offroad demon, etc.

Based on which types of races you do the most, and which one you are best at.

But all that sounds too complicated, and HOPEFULLY will be in GT6.

Becuase it's hard to have the ultimate tuning thread, or laptime thread, or whatever when there are, by my count, 6 or 7 cars you'll never get to drive, plus one that takes a ton of effort to get and disappears as soon as you turn the game off (NASCAR Camry).

I like this!, I think it can be in GT5 just look at your friend data log it tells you what they are doing. 👍

Should change thread title to GT5Spec II wishlist.
I kinda figured this would happen.

And make seperate thread for the actual news updates

Cant blame the folks. It's one thing to be an update, but this looks like the mother of all updates. I just think that the wishlist should only pertain to a change in the GUI, and in online. Not really anything like premiums and new tracks. Mostly just making the navigation of the game easier. No graphic upgrades, no enhanced damage. I'm not expecting anything, but I am hopeful that whatever this update is, I just hope there are some useful changes.

Im not blaming anyone lol
I sorta made a wishlist myself.
I just thought there would be more news in here.Il be happy with what ever they add
