...Other sims have been doing real good A.I. for a while now, and have some pretty intense and fun career modes. It's only GT5 that has lagged way behind.

Shift1&2 are easy for anyone who likes driving. Not only GT5 has flawed AI you see...

Personally speaking only games having a very good AI are rFactor, GTR, GTR2.

When GT5 Prologue Spec II and III was released how much did it cost?

Physical GT5:P spec II did cost 40$ back at the day, but then you could have GT5:P normal and download the specs as updates for free.

However this is not the case right now, because is paid DLC and I seriously wonder how much will it cost, probably $60-$80 USD due to depreciation but I still have my doubts.

I don't quite understand what you are saying, but I'm 99.9% sure, Spec 2 will be free. We'll see the cost of DLC as and when it comes.

Edit: I see, you're saying the cost of GT5 + the upgrade, well that will be the Platinum Price $20? + $0... so $20.

It depends. There is no guarantee the DLC will have a price tag (although that would be wishful thinking if it did not). Additionally, I assume that there will be a re-release of the game if Spec II does major work on the game itself (so new gamers may not have to go through a potential hassle).

hmmm, I hope the spec II brings a big change to try and get back a lot of players who just got bored of grinding.

A lot of BIIIG games getting released this October, so I guess only the hardcore GT5 player will really come to it.

I just hope Kaz keeps his word, because in 3 weeks a "delay and new patch release date" is very easy to happen.

I' sure that Spec II will be free and that DLC the next week will be paid. Only that makes sense, after all, spec II is an update, DLC the next week is conventional DLC.

This is what i expect. Though with a purchasable Hard Copy of Spec 2.0 to be released soon after.
Im kind of hoping and wouldn't be surprised if the first DLC is free just as a sort of taste test to hook people.

Yea that would be nice :D I'm waiting to see what DLC is so I can spend my last euros on my account.
However about the retail version I have doubts, because of the Platinum Edition (if already released, if not, then it should be included). Anyway, what would be cool is, after all DLC and updates have been released, a compilated edition or GOTY or something should appear (C'mon F: New Vegas I'm waiting!)👍

Has the greatest hits version been put on the shelves yet? If so that is a mistake. They should release the greatest hits GT5 with everything on it.

Spec 2.0 is a patch, will be free and mandatory to play online. Prologue Spec II and III were also patches, they released it as "Spec II" later because the update came with the European launch.

I've seen the Platinum version for sale in the UK already. That's before Spec 2.0 was even announced.

It were not just a patch. It's more like upgrade or add-on, because it includes new content. Patches (at most) not include a new content.

First: You don't know if it will include new content.

Second: A "patch" is a "update", not more, not less. Patches can bring new content or not, most developers and publishers release new content rather as DLC though, because you can make money this way.

Third: An add-on is something different, add-ons are more like DLC, they usually add new content and quests/missions/story lines. Undead Nightmare for Red Dead Redemption is an add-on for example.

In short: We have ~13 patches but no upgrades and no new content.
Spec update will include new content, otherwise it were called a patch.
It can be called add-on for racing game. But upgrade suits better.
We get Spec II upgrade first and then DLC, so they are different, both updates (as well as patches), but they called different for a reason, meaning "patch", "spec update" and "dlc" in GT5 terms are totally different kinds of updates.

just hope PD don't over do it, as they have done with GT5
I think they are trying to do too much at once and lost focus.
Where in other game would you see all this combination (F1, DTM, GT500/300, Nascar, Street Cars, Super cars, Gran Turismo TV, Track Creator....etc)

Maybe Kaz want all those stuff in GT5, but either the manufacture/money is not allowing GT5 to go ahead, or manufacture doesn't want such and such to appear on their cars...etc..so maybe that is why it took a long time for this update to come, as they have finally set the deal and start implementing into GT5 couple of month later after release.

But I cannot wait Spec II, counting down day by day

Not enough people and too long of a time to model cars/tracks is the reason why we don't have 1000 Premiums and 30 Tracks. I think it's more along the lines of, they've finally finished modeling - from the release of the game till now. It's quite a lot of time.

PD called the other patches also "updates": http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5958.html "Update" and "patch" are the exact same thing.

It is true that a patch is always an update, but an update doesn't always have to be a patch. Let me explain...

A patch is a word used for explaining that a fix for a bug is in the update.
An update only refers to the version number increase of the program (or in this case game). Like the latest update from 1.12 to 1.13.
An update can include various things, patches, new features, reworked/improved features, add-ons and in a closed system like a console's case also drivers for various hardware (example: TH8 RS shifter, new Clubsport stuff... etc).

And that's simply how it is. Now in Kaz's case he always implements patches in every update it seems, but not all updates include any extra things. :P

Just my opinion. Now just let's wait and see what we'll be getting ^_^
